Just wanted to point out that your OP images are getting way out of hand

What are some good Bluetooth earbuds. Budget $100, only care about sound quality.

What is the second best headphone behind the HD600?

This has finally gone full Sup Forums faggotry. Fuck off with your weeb fetish shit.

You're delusional if you think OP's pic isn't bait. He wasn't even trying to be subtle. Regardless, this is a blue board and that shit is borderline hentai.

Post your headphones, /hpg/.

Would a headphone amp do anything for regular impedance headphones other than making them louder?

>Current year
>Still can't get decent audio quality through BT
Y tho

Audiophiles generally scoff at Bluetooth. Hence, manufacturers don't bother to make audiophile-friendly Bluetooth headphones. The technology is there; Bluetooth 5 has enough bandwidth for lossless audio. The manufacturers don't seem to think the market is there for it. Just my theory.

why are those touhous wrestling and why aren't they wearing underwear?

This a good place to ask about speakers?

Is /mkg/ a good place to ask about gaming mice?

Going to do a detachable cable mod. Anyone know a good place to get sockets? Was just going to get these on Amazon otherwise.

here. The Aeons are the best closed back headphones on the market.

What the fuck is actually happening in that image?

How do you even live without a minimum 32" display?

i have a local electronics supply where i pick up my parts. look in your yellowpages

I can cheat the system because I'm dead inside

What are some great headphones for listening to metal with a budget of 300$

HD600, obviously.

I don't know, they all seem to be acting quite strange. I can't understand it.

Guess I'll try to summarize some for once.
AKG K701
Beyer DT770 80Ohm
Hifiman He-400 (Driven by Benchmark DAC-1 > Schiit Lyr)
Stax SR-303 (Driven by SRM-313)

And for portable:
Etymotic ER-4PT
Sony XBA-H3
T-Peos Altone 200
FitEar Aya
B&W P5, Which I dont really like. But I need something that covers my ears in the cold months. I would be very open to suggestions if someone knows of a nice pair of on/over ears for winter listening.

Why don't you have any good headphones?

SYLVIAAAAA
fuck I haven't listened to that album in years

Sometimes I think I have a problem

Patrician user.

Are there any consumer review sites that actually have good recommendations and honest reviews?

Sup Forums hook me up with some over-ear cans with good bass
i'll pay $40 max for them

I wish my earpads were still this new.

Depends what your current audio source is like. If you aren't having issues with it, you probably don't need an external amp or DAC.

Superlux HD662 Evo

Thanks
Sites which post measurements are typically fairly good.

Got these closed HD598Cs for $99 last year on Amazon. I've always love Sennies, but these are really great. Long cord for my at Hi-Fi at home, and a short cord when I go mobile. The velour cups feel soft without turning my ears into an oven. My only gripe is the headband was pretty clampy on my head, but I feel that way about all new cans DESU.

alternatives to schiit stack with equal sound/build quiality and price point?
planning on getting some 600's

sub 100 dollar dac/amp that's good for music and gaming?

How big is your head dude. I have these. I just wish there was a way to lock the length thing.

Friendos, I just got my hands on an Android phone and it comes with SRS sound built-in.

As you might expect, it helps a lot with the volume and clarity of the tiny built-in speaker but it's an absolute no-go with headphones plugged in.

Is there any way to get it to turn off/on automatically when I plug in or remove headphones? Or am I stuck going into the settings every time?

HD 660 S vs HE 560. Thoughts?

>single sided planar
Complete garbage. Go with LCD-2C or 660S.

If you're dead set between those two, then a used HE-560. Or just get an HD600 or HD650 and save some money to put towards something else. HD660S isn't really worth the $500 price tag.

Same here. What in the holy fuck is going on in that pic?

Got a pair of these four years ago, they are quite nice

Thanks, but please elaborate more. Why is single sided bad and wht is the sound sig of LCD-2C?

Single sided planars don't have even magnetic flux all over the excursion of the diaphragm and generally have worse distortion. The HE560 and the HE400i both have extremely peaky treble as well, it requires many hours of very heavy EQ to correct.

LCD-2C is dark, but smooth. If you don't like that, EQ, or go with the 660S or a different dynamic or electrostatic headphone.

Thoughts, /hpg/?

SBAF is full of retarded DAC mythology, reddit is, well, fucking reddit.

Isn't it an open secret by now that SBAF heavily shills Schiit and EC gears?

The „Audiophile“ market is tiny and full of Autists who who think tube-amps are the epitome of Audio technology, I can fully understand why companies are afraid to even try to put money into the development.
Got myself the ATH-DSR7BT mainly because I got a 50% off coupon that expired and had to buy something with it, assumed they‘re just a Bluetooth version of the MSR-7, which I already own, but the sound quality makes them sound like Dr. Dre Beats in comparison, they even have incredibly low latency when connected to USB and used for music production.
They’re very clean and flat, they offer so much detail that I even hear all minor mastering fuckups and Analog synth distortions of the music I listen to which sadly makes some artists unbearable.
No audio jack tho, which will cause some autistic screeching with most people around here. Also only Bluetooth 4.2 so no high enough transfer speeds for lossless-placebo (still works via USB) but I couldn’t care less.

Is it compatible with android wired if you buy a micro USB to micro USB cable?

Yes. Lightning works aswell.

I might have to buy a pair then, the lack of LDAC is sort of a bummer but they look really appealing in every other respect. Have you tried the DSR9BT at all?

No, couldn’t try them because the store only sold them via order and don’t have them in stock. They seem too expensive for using the same architecture, can‘t imagine them to be even 10% better for 200% of the price.

innerfidelity.com/images/HiFiMANHE5602014.pdf doesn't show extreme treble and distortion. Not arguing, just discussing.

Apple will be the first to do it and the rest will follow. Mark my words.

Can anyone give me some suggestions?

Also, I'm 99% sure the midrange distortion on my WH1000XM2 is audible. No amount of EQ will fix vocals being slightly off.

My earphones

earphones

Vsonic GR07 (obliterated) > Senfer UES (shell broke on one side) > BGVP SGZ-DN1 (would be equal to senfer UES if the fit was as good and it didn't have the "popping" feeling when you push the housing into your ear) > Senfer VT66 (very good mids & highs but not a lot of bass) > KZ ATR (V-shape) > Zircon Rock (V-shape + uncomfortablest fit)

I keep them in my earphone pouch, it's a pouch but looks like.. a bag! Hahaha!

>Apple will be the first to do it and the rest will follow.

AHAHAHAHAHA YEAH RIGHT

Apple is the most ass backward company keeping wireless audio shit... apple music service is lossy and they have zero reason to push for lossless

The iphone 8 and X still dont support APT-X / HD and probably never will because its a qualcomm patent and the two companies arent getting along.

Sony has LDAC which is awesome but are keeping that in house and only their daps and headphones support it. Which is stupid because they have a really big chance to liscence a standard all of us will use in the future, but sony will be sony and will fuck it up

So we have bluetooth 5 and we have the codecs and Apple is literally shitting everything up. Between this and the headphone jack and not supporting flac for years i am fucking done with apple

But SBAF has better discussions than /hpg/ and r/headphones.

Damn, FR doesn't look really good there, though SolderDude describes HE 560 as good headphones. Speaking about 400i vs 560, I only heard demo, liked 560 more.

Question to you and everyone else. What about soundstage HD 660 S vs HE 560 vs LCD2C? If none are good for the price, what you recommend for ~$500 to have good soundstage and at least acceptable everything else.

Save up a bit and get a used HD800.

The japs in general should learn how to do actual business

Yeah, about how DACs sound. They're fucking lunatics.

Lel no. They are an even worse echo chamber than HF. Try posting a negative opinion towards a Schiit product there.

sbaf is an audio cult

>"someone more skilled at forums"

Yeah, what's the question?
Monoprice dac/amp. JDS labs O2 dac and O2 amp, element.

560 is low sensitivity, low impedance. Challenging load, unlike the 660S.
Neither is especially rugged, but the replaceable parts of 660S do give it an advantage. Also, Hifiman finishing is poor.

Soundstage is not worth mentioning.
It's obviously track dependent, but it is equalization dependent as well. You can manipulate soundstage with equalization.

The symmetry of B-field is just a non-linearity problem. However, 400i and 560 both demonstrate a high degree of linearity anyway. It would cut the sensitivity back, but part of that goal is the reduce weight.
Also, the response function crap amounts to a just a few peaks.
Solderdude's measurements have a tendency to reduce the bass level.
Perhaps preferred, but it's definitely not the response straight from the headphone.

what are the goat headphones for soundstagesoundstage? somebody here once said k7xx but not sure how true that is

Thoughts on the Bose QC 35?

Lindy HF-100.
ATH-M40X.
MDR-V6 or 7506.
None of them are really neutral, but they should be serviceable. I would suggest the Lindy on fit.

It's funny because they used to not like Schiit products.
If anything, they've been consistent about Sennheiser and have been more anti-Audeze.
Changstar was founded to organize the reasons why a group of friends from SoCal didn't like the LCD-3.

There also this obsession with R-2R derivatives, but that crap leaks everywhere.

What headphones do you own?

I'm tempted to buy ATH m50x (or maybe m40x), I tried them and liked them and they cost less than what would be too terrible.

Are there any open back headphones that are as good and don't cost too much more?

What the fuck, /hpg/.

I ordered a set of TH-X00 cans for music and vidya with a 1/4" to 1/8" adapter, so I can actually plug them into my computer.

I just tried them for the first time. Only the left ear receives audio. Plugging them into a different port doesn't fix the problem, and neither does plugging them into a completely different device I know is functional. I tried plugging some cheapo headphones into my PC just to be sure that wasn't the problem, and I got sound in both ears.

Is it warranty time, or is there something I'm missing?

Make sure the adapter isn't mono (like a guitar adapter would be). Then try a different adapter. If it's still bad, send it back

If they still make AD-700s, look into those

Somewhat related:
Looking at pic related for a speaker amp. The one I'm using at the moment is an ancient hifi stereo with a fucking noisy ass fan.
Would the sound quality be that bad with pic related? It's £45.

Have you heard HD 660 S and HE 560. If yes, what would be the comments on sound quality?

>headphone amp to power speakers
Shiggydiggy

I thought of trying that! Do you know of any 1/4" to 1/8" stereo adapters that reliably work? Amazon recommends a ton of adapters with "Didn't fit, had to RMA to get one that works" in the reviews.

That's not a headphone amp

Hey guys I'm new. I have question... My brother gave me his headphones they say HD 600 on them. I am wondering if I could trade them for a razer kraken? They look better and razer is a good brand.
