Good bye Raja

>no no no, vega FE is a professional card, benches with a pro card is stupid, wait for RX vega for highier gaming performance with better drivers for gaymes

I will never forget this quote from amdfags

looks like you are mad at the perf/watt.

frankly hbm2 is changing the game, nvidia and amd are both trying to innovate, or maybe nvidia isnt. but amd is and it is catching eyes in the corporate world. store shares are soaring and nvidia released a 1070 ti. your call bro.

frankly the vega 56/64 arent terrible.

They're alright. Quite underwhelming nevertheless because people were like: "1080ti killer!!!!" "VEGA next high-end GPU!!!".

I think Raja just failed with sustaining real marketing with AMD's GPUs and communication overall.

>frankly the vega 56/64 arent terrible
With this chip size, the higher number transistors, this power draw, hbmeme, it was supposed to beat the 1080ti/titanx and even the titan xp...

>vega
>good perf/watt.

the vega 64 does contest with the 1080ti in certain gaming titles. however in software and office scenarios the vega arch is just better.
that is the selling point dimwit. hbm2

>in software and office scenarios
>where cuda is industry standard

lol fuck off.

>not terrible
1 1/2 year later amd releases a $1000 gpu that is almost as good as the gtx 1080. This forces Nvidia to release the gtx 1070 again, because now they are sweating bullets from the competition at hand.

1 game with the AMD sticker on it?...

cars 2 and forza play better on vega cards for some reason.
are you serial? in terms of server solutions amd is winning. smaller die size means more shoved in a rack.
i dont get why you guys use this argument. this is what amd has been doing for years, its not about pushing out the hottest gpu to win the gamers hearts.

its for the people out there that enjoy gpus, and architecture of such. because the gddr5/x archs are boring desu.

>smaller die size means more shoved in a rack.
Wut.

server racks boyo, the way the hbm is stacked next to the gpu itself means that they can make their coolers smaller and more efficient as well. more performance per operating watt server side.

Are you retarded?

youtube.com/watch?v=1hP8so9SvxU

are you? boyo

>i dont get why you guys use this argument. this is what amd has been doing for years, its not about pushing out the hottest gpu to win the gamers hearts.

>its for the people out there that enjoy gpus, and architecture of such. because the gddr5/x archs are boring desu.

So performance isn't important? Interesting.

>vega is not that terrible, guys
>nobody said it is going to be good
Oh boy, here we go again.
I bet these faggots won't stop with their mental gymnastics even if Lisa herself says that vega was a fail.

retard confirmed.

its performance/per watt used that is important in the particular situation.

im talking about how they are building the gpus, the architecture of the die itself. hbm2 is just a better tech, and gddr5/x is on its last leg.

>hbm2 is just a better tech, and gddr5/x is on its last leg.
Yes and no, besides memory and unrelated to GPU itself.

fuck Raja. Little to no fucking gains over Fury and he took forever to deliver. Hope they hire someone who isn't completely shit at designing GPUs.

you are not well read on the issue than. the more gddr5 you shove on a card, the bigger it gets, the more heat it produces.

with hbm2 you can cool the gpu and vram simultaneously rather than having to have massive heatsinks and bigger fans. not to mention it performs much faster than gddr5 or gddr5x on the same size chip.

TFW AMD releases a $1000 gpu 1.5 years later with "superior" tech, and it still only performs almost as well as a gtx 1080, but still uses more electricity. yet there is some faggot that exists, and defends this.

AYYYMD killed ATi and raped its corpse. Can't really blame Pajeet leaving the designated company.

why is "muh gaming" your only talking point? vega 56 and 64 both show better overall performance in applications that need to pump information. blendr/adobe/cinemark.

Because vega 56/64 are advertised as gaming cards and not blendr/adobe/cinemark benchmarking hardware.

still performs better per dollar. vega 64 rivals 1080 in performance on most games anyway, and that is where the price/point falls too. so being a nvidia fanboys isnt gonna get you very far these next 2 years.

>forza play better on vega cards for some reason

Thats was BEFORE the 387.92 Nvidia drivers updates

>Chink CEO shorts all stocks before announcing Q earnings
>Pajeet fired
>some retard on Sup Forums continues to defend this abortion
>mfw

>the same retard still shitposts loudly for 3 months straight

...

>retard thinks he knows more about amd's internal affairs than the ceo
go on

Raja literally say it on twitter

"hurr durr vega rx will be faster than vega frontier edition"

>still performs better per dollar
>per dollar
Than a 2 year old gpu that people already own?
> isnt gonna get you very far these next 2 years.
The gtx 10xx will hold it's own for the time being, and the rest of us are going to upgrade to the next gen gpus soon. What the fuck was the point of vega again?

>Raja literally say it
Did you mean "said" it? Need to polish your English a bit Sanjeet.

The 1080 is such a fucking beast.

>the fury x

i already love my perf/dollar with my vega 56

just waiting for dsbr and primitive shaders to start working in the next month or so

>this is what amd has been doing for years
Yeah, but before that they were able to actually compete (and beat) NVIDIA on equal footing. Are you too young to remember when AMD wasn't getting assraped by default? HD7900s were the last great cards they had, it wasn't even THAT long ago.

more shoved in a rack vs. cuda which is industry standard for compute. not an argument.

it's cheaper to have one or two cards in both power draw and equipment costs, and the fact that they would support cuda would be the final nail in that argument.

Makes sense. Nvidia still provides updates to the 400 series, while AMD stopped providing updates to their 6000 seires 2 years ago.

>because people were like: "1080ti killer!!!!"

No, only Sup Forums shills were like that. The rest of the world saw the early benches and knew that it'll be around 1080 level, depending on drivers and games sometimes worse and sometimes largely better.

>provides updates to the 400 series
that actually don't do anything.

JUST WAIT FOR THE GOD DRIVERS, S-S-SOON!!!

cuda got beaten by opencl

>AMD stopped providing updates to their 6000 seires 2 years ago.
same with the 7000 series.

Navi will demolish novidya. Just wait for it.

What retard was behind the branding?

Vega 56 should be an RX480 and the 64 RX490

I am getting tired of waiting... Oh there is Nvidia Volta coming before navi.

Vega is already nex gen. NaVi will be identical to Vega with better TDP

Volta has great improvements for the professional chips. Stuff like Tensor Cores and 4 HBM2 stacks.

Consumer Volta on the other hand will only feature higher clocks and maybe packed FP16, so the jump in performance won't be that big.

>Hopefully he can ruin Intel the same way he did RTG

Price/performance is irrelevant as long as there are no custom Vega cards and yields are so low. Also you have to heavily undervolt not to have a housefire and use 300W of power, while Nvidia GPU's work more or less out of the box. Vega 64 especially is completely broken at stock.

Cause that s what the RX series is for . GAYMING. So if they suck at that they are a failure. Lucky for AMD they are good for mining

GCN was a mistake.

More like they should stop it when they lauch the 290x/390x. HBM was a mistake
