Thanks for making that.

>ETA 2836-2 movement
>It doesnt have a day function

wew

...

Yes it does, user

What am I looking at a reflection?

Where? ETA 2824 has a date function only. 2836 is Day/Date. I do not see a day

Read the file name.

Did no one tell the owner that ceramic was brittle?

All I see are beautiful mirror finishes. I do not see anything "well-skewld" whatever that means,

I honestly don't understand ceramic cases. Ceramic dials are sexy, bezels are prone to chipping and cracks, but who seriously sat down and say "Okay we're going to make this tool watch out of ceramic".

There's a fucking chip out of the lug, ya blind faggot.

That's not Omega's fault.

If you want to be pedantic you could say it was omega's choice to use a brittle material for the case, which is inevitably more likely to have things like chips happen than 316L. But yes, ultimately the owner was the one that chipped it.

Not an argument Seiko male.

Ceramic on a tool watch. What a great idea. No wonder moronic companies like omega and IWC are failing.

>agree with the point
>not an argument
Are you even following the conversation here?

Thats like saying it was Seikos choice to use titanium on GS watches and its their fault if you scratch it.

That's what the qualifier "if you want to be pedantic" was for.

I mean the file name of the picture you are asking about you smart guy you

>have a safe queen watch
>still manages to get hairline scratches on the case side and bezel

I am so fucking mad. I've never even worn it anywhere. It literally doesn't touch anything other than the watch box and the watch pillow it's in.

What the fuck do I do now? Can you spot remove small scratches?

Someone help me calm down my autism.

Just wear it. It's no longer a safe queen.

You deserved it for treating a sport watch that way.

>Explorer II
>Safe queen

what's a safe queen?

watch you never wear and just put in a safe

A watch that sits in a safe or in a dresser and is rarely ever taken out. If I'm correct, it comes from people who buy really rare or expensive guns and never actually take them to the range and just have them for posturing or to cash in once they increase in price.

I think he means the other one, which I am guessing is a Sea Dweller (deepsea?)

Just brought a Casio F91w.
What am I in for exactly?

nasheed, brother

that's really sad

...

Loads of pussy and /wt/ and overall Sup Forums and /fa/ approval.

Anyone recommend nice looking straps for the Alpinist?

The stock one isn't terribly good. Prefer a strap that's light and waterproof to take advantage of the 20bar resistance

Bracelet works pretty well.

Brown or olive perlon without a doubt.

I don't know man, I feel like you kind of need a strap to suit that dial. Stainless is cool but it just seems too clean and clinical for it.

Yeah, shit like this makes me feel bad. My grandparents had so much good alcohol that they were "saving for a special occasion", but then they died before they could taste it.
If you buy something, just use it, don't save it and then never use it, because what's the point of doing that? You've just wasted money.

I get certain things as investments. Like, a Mateba is going to hold its value if not increase in the same way that an Explorer 1060 will.
Holding onto all your shit though because "It'll be worth something one day" is pretty stupid.

i'm a working poorfag so if i buy something with my hard earned money i fucking use it. only thing i know you never open are original carded Kenner SW figures!

What quartz watches would you spend more than $1,000 on?

Pic related for me, though I wouldn't pay full price ($2,200) for it.

Perlon is shit on larger watches because it has no weight or thickness to complement.

Look at some stitched canvas ones, possibly with leather accents. Shark mesh could be an interesting compromise. There's really not a whole lot of other choices if you want waterproof and not diver style. There is water resistant leather too.

I like this watch

it's so ugly it's beautiful

grand seiko quartz is the only one for me. Or the AP RO quartz i guess but its super gaudy

...

how much would something like that from the 70s go for today?

There's one selling now for $3,000 on Chrono24

What color perlon would look good on a Sarb035?

and the award for the #1 haute horological watch ever goes to the 36mm Rolex Explorer.

a milanese mesh is even better

this is already beautiful m8 i personally love a dark brown croc on white dial.

Sporty watch? No.

And these straight ends look like ass.

Not my pic, but I ordered something similar, but with croc pattern and a black croc strap with white stitching. I love the look of perlon and have never tried them so want to give it a shot

A Chronomaster or maybe a Grand Seiko quartz.

thinking about buying a grand seiko spring drive. what should i know?

stop posting this we answered you like five threads ago

i wanna try a dark colored perlon too to match this watch and another old gold color watch.

RIP Swiss watches...

Henlo

didn't see it

Nice tattoo and strap cuckboi

Ok fuckers, redpill me on Hamilton Khaki field watches
Its a shitter but honestly cant spend 5 grand on a watch yet and it is well priced for a beater. What do you think is the best buy for under 700 EUR?

Thought on a new Timex Marlin?
Make Timex great again?
First mechanical timepiece in fucking decades.

Pic related

Over the years I must have mugged thousands of people for this obsolete piece of technology.

Keep buying guys, and how about a holiday in the uk ?

This is the 3rd consecutive thread you've postsd this.
Start wearing your watch and learn to love the scratches you gain

Cool bro enjoy eternal damnation

Ball Engineer Hydrocarbon

Would be better if it didn't have a chink movement. (probably seagull). I'm sure assholes wouldn't have minded paying a bit more for a miyota or something. That said it hits all the other marks for a vintage style watch.

...

So I've gotten this today instead of a cocktail time. Probably will put a bracelet on it. Glass seemed like a fingerprint magnet at first but it's okay now so I guess it was just a change of temperature from outside to inside. How did I fuck up? Just mentioning but this is the absolute maximum of what I would ever want to spend on a watch.

Thats nice, but i would still go with poljot/luch

Did you buy new or used?

New.

Very nice, but I'm not a fan of how 1/3rd of the width is the crown

dope

was unsure about it at first too, but now I love the big crown and the crown protection thingy

...

can you even fit that under a shirt sleeve?

...

I'd take a serious look at a Seiko SARG007. It's discontinued but there are new ones still for sale out there, and it's a much better value than the Khaki.

>SARG007
>same price
>shittier movement
>uglier
>better value

what did he mean by this?

A standard grade 2824 is not substantively better than the 6R15. The 2824 has the higher beat rate, instant date change, and a theoretical capability for higher accuracy, but the minimal factory adjustment the two lowest grades of 2824 receive means that theoretical capability for accuracy is totally wasted and that in reality standard and elabore grade 2824s are no more accurate than the 6R15. In addition, the 2824 has known issues with handwinding that the 6R15 doesn't. The 6R15 also has a much longer power reserve. Basically, I'd generally consider this a tie. Note that this of course does not apply to the 2824 top or chronometer grade, which has so much more adjustment and better parts as to substantially be a different movement than the 2824 standard or elabore.

The SARG also has better external finishing and a much more legible dial, which would be sensible on something intended to be a field watch.

redpill me on dive watches, /wt/

>Perlon is shit on larger watches because it has no weight or thickness to complement.
That's why the new Eulit Palma is great. It can stand up to much heavier watches. Here's a pic I found on Google showing a dark brown Palma on an Alpinist.

whatever you say seiko male

Grand Seiko SBGV007.

Spring Drive would be the only quartz I'd buy above 1k

Grey for sure
