Why? They accomplish nothing for their community. They prevent police officers (who are overwhelmingly not racist or excessively brutal) from keeping criminals off the streets by discouraging them from doing their jobs and by obstructing justice. In turn, that leads to much more crime in black communities, as well as the fact that the protesters themselves use "peaceful protests" as a guise for looting and destroying stores owned by members of their own community.
I hate Sup Forums memery just as much as the next guy, but BLM actually is very harmful to everyone in America, especially the black community.

Anyways, as to why I'm sympathetic to BLM, there's just no denying that the black community gets blunt end of "justice." As the investigations done by the Justice Department found, police in Ferguson and Baltimore were actually targeting blacks.

In particular, BLM keeps the discussions about judicial reform and police misconduct alive. I've known and seen cops get away with so much shit and nothing seems to happen because of the "blue code of silence." I'm not saying the majority of cops are corrupt, but I think something needs to be done on how "all of this" works. Vague, I know.

I agree in the weakening of the police state but a focus on race is just counter intuitive. More white people are shot by cops anyway, so even though it may turn out that blacks are "more likely" to be shot by police (most likely due to how disproportionate they are represented in committing violent crimes) it just shows that it's not just black people who are being affected.

I'd say to legalize all drugs so long as they're consumed by an adult in their own property. That would definitely remove a lot of police presence where they don't belong. Saying that the solution is to complain about false ideas is just plain ridiculous.
