Heh, my grandparents lived up in Bradenton when I was a kid. At least the Ringling Museum is nice.

I grew up in a small town of 7k people. Weed was always around, not a big deal. I came back after about 10 years and my generation is all on meth and crack. I hate being that prick but goddamn, thank god i got out of that environment and moved to the city. It seems like there really is no future for small white communities anymore...and the worst part is...it's only us to blame.

Here is a bit of my hometown centre.

My hometown is kind of a Norwegian experiment. Its wooden-style predecessor burnt down in 1904 in a huge fire, and over 10 000 people lost their homes. A band of architects who had studied abroad were givien the task of rebuilding the town, and they took what they'd studied and built a town on the prevailing architectural style of the late 1800s, art nouveau, but they added their own Norwegian touches, and inspired by the old fishing town elements of the old Ålesund town. In 1905 Norway got its independence from Sweden, so the house builders and architects wanted very much to build a Norwegian city. They used Norwegian stones, and the fasade ornaments were elements from the viking period, such as the norwegian dragon style, since this area also was a viking town back in the days. It was in a way the symbol of a new independent Norway, a Norwegian town rebuilt just the way we wanted a Norwegian town to be like.
