I think latin-america is a category of it's own, we can't pretend that we're western when Africa is the only thing preventing us from claiming the continental shithole championship belt, making excuses for our failure to self-govern is only going to lead to further misery.

Spanish colonies didnt work that way. The spanish took whatever they wanted whenever they wanted in the name of the crown. There was no trade. Spanish moved here as duty to the crown and to bring riches to spain. This is something that you can easuly read about.

Monte de pontosi was not its own comapny thar sold silver to spain. It was a mou tain mines by natuve slaves for the crown. This was basically free silver for spain. They didnt have to oay the colonies for their resoueces.
