What is reverse polish notation why do I have to learn this retarded shit?

You can't be that retarded it's simple to understand
It makes it easier to do math on computer

Wow user... usually such machine costs $300... where did you find that???

It is now also available in AUR repositories of Arch user.

You are really a lucky person user with such love for such beautiful machines.

You do not need to learn RPN user. There are also machines that don't use RPN. Most machines don't use RPN. RPN is a flavour of how to do computations. It is just what you love or like. But it is no must.

My dad has had several of these for like 30 years lmao

They're the ThinkPads of calculators, their keyboards are the best

If you really love HP RPN machines, maybe you can have a look at the HP 42S.

My dad still has one around somewhere too, I think his is a 12C. IIRC he got it for the real estate classes he had to take as part of his architecture masters' in the early '80s.

i f u havent even do a Reverse Polish Notation caluclator in software develope you aint shit nigger

It's like Dvorak for Calculators.

>got that exact calculator from goodwill for $3 in perfect working condition
user what are you doing.

is this true

In that it is inherently better and anyone who doesn't use it is wrong?

Yes.

how do I learn it?

Normal way to do calculations: 1 + 2 = 3

RPN way to do calculations: 1 ENTER 2 +

With RPN you have a stack. You can put things on a stack. You put things on a stack with the ENTER button.
1 ENTER
2 ENTER
3 ENTER

Then the stack will be:
1
2
3

Now press +

The stack will be:
1
5

Press another time + and the stack will be
6

That is it... no magic...

I am polish and that shit isn't used over here.

What if you go in reverse?

Why the fuck do calculators cost so much? Why aren't the chinese selling $5 dollar versions of calculators like these?

That's why it's called reverse Polish you fucktard. Polish Notation is the "standard" algebra process.

It's peak arithmetic where you don't need parentheses because order of operations is implied. No more idiotic "you should be able to solve this" threads were people post stuff like "2 + 1 * 10" and morons argue over whether it's 12 or 30 because they didn't learn operator precedence in grade school (it's 12).

No it isn't, retard. Polish is prefix notation, like Lisp. It's the worst of all worlds because it uses extra parentheses.

easier to program a calculator for it
no need for ()

>(its 12)
I love how you had to explicitly state it at the end.

It is sort of magical how it enables you to avoid parentheses and brackets
(4 + 3)(2 + 1) is
4 3 + 2 1 + *

you dont need parens for prefix polish you silly boy
