Firefox 57

What a piece of fucking joke.

Who the fuck designed this?

WHY WOULD YOU ADD UNNECESSARY SPACES AND MENU BUTTONS TO THE SIDE LIKE THIS?

Try not being a brainlet

because the main guiding principle of modern UI design is "fuck information density"

>It's another moron creating a thread about the easily removable flexible spaces that firefox has had for years and acting like its the end of human civilization

>That blue line at the top

Burn Mozilla to the ground.

How'd you change the scroll bar?
This snow white scroll bar fucking sucks.
I miss FT Deep Dark

how such imbeciles even exist? are you a literal nigger from a fucking africa?

>That blue line at the top
What is themeing, you retarded mouthbreather?

You deserve it if you don't even know you can just remove all that shit.

#TabsToolbar .tabbrowser-tab[selected] .tab-line {
display: none !important;
}
Put this in userChrome.css and it'll go away.

>Burn Mozilla to the ground.
I'm curious. Are you rooting for Google's absolute monopoly? Is your IQ level below 20?

not him but the fact that Google is evil doesn't make Mozilla not full of shit.

>you have to be a code monkey to remove pointless shit nobody wanted in the first place

Mozilla is crazy

"burning mozilla to the ground" serves absolutely no purpose either.

In fact, if mozilla were dead all of your snowflake browsers will go extinct within a few years. Or do you honestly live in a dream where you think these good for nothing fork monkeys can produce something of caliber of a 19 million LoC behemoth project?

Nigga I'm not a codemonkey, I can do very basic HTML and CSS at most. I found that with one quick Google search, you don't have to be smart to copy and paste a few lines of code into a css file.

>good for nothing fork monkeys
Pale Moon does a pretty good job maintaining their shit

>WHY WOULD YOU ADD UNNECESSARY SPACES AND MENU BUTTONS TO THE SIDE LIKE THIS?

Because they removed the actual menu bar and status bar and now they don't have anywhere to put shit.

how did you get that small sidebar? i don't see any option for that.

Are you literally saying that it's TOO HARD for you to google for a few lines of text, then copypasting those few lines of text into a file?
What the fuck are you doing on Sup Forums? You should be on a retirement home with all the other grandmas, far, far away from any electronics.

Manchild cannot write firefox. In fact if manchild was writing code for 60 years straight he would not be able to come up with a browser that actually works everywhere.

Mozilla is giving Google a monopoly themselves by slowly fucking merging with Chrome

>chrome being 19 million lines as a good thing

You don't have to be 19 million lines if you're not trying to be an operating system, app store, media player, remote desktop, VR, virtual assistant streaming cloud clusterfuck on top of browsing the internet

>by slowly fucking merging with Chrome
Is FAKE NEWS your only line of argument? I hope not.

>You don't have to be 19 million lines if you're not trying to be an operating system, app store, media player, remote desktop, VR, virtual assistant streaming cloud clusterfuck on top of browsing the internet
Go ahead and use elinks, no one cares and no one ever will.

A week ago nobody had to do any of that to control Firefox's appearance. They could just install a theme or addon that changes the GUI, you know the kind of customization that actually made people want to use firefox.

A decade of slowly copying more of what Google does is not fake news.

>Go ahead and use elinks
This is called a strawman.

>slowly copying more of what Google does
Did your low energy brain translate to "Mozilla merging with Google"? I guess Samsung is merging with Apple too because they got rid of head phone jacks as well.

>This is called a strawman.
No it isn't. If you just want a software that renders webpages go use elinks. Literately no one care and will care about your snowflake browser.

>shilling this hard for Mozilla

what seems to be the problem?
FF57 design is basically Edge which is a good thing.

That design is appaling. However I still don't care, I tried it for kicks. I could barely notice the speed difference, the smooth scrolling implementation this has gave me cancer somewhat and the font rendering sucked some dick.

Sup Forums thread # 8275

>Be dumb fuck OP
>Bitch about not being able to tweak software X for his own taste
>Bitch bout how software X does not look or cater to his own taste
>Gets continuously BTFO
>Rinse
>Repeat

Sometimes I think Sup Forums is all scripted.

fucking retards you complain about every one customization updates

Second this, just click "Customize".

first post literally best post yet again

How do you remove the top left empty space next to the tabs with Customize?

Mine doesn't have that issue, must be your buggy linux rice.

>Print Edit for new version can't preview PDF
>No "Downitall" to steal my lecture videos from their shitty lecture videos
FUCK MOZILLA, guess it's time to head back to icecat or something.

I don't have that blue line, that user is just doing it wrong.

Everything just screams Windows 10
>disgusting edgy dark theme
>ads
>bloated and shitty UI

>Mozilla finally makes a browser capable of competing with Chrome
>Sup Forums hates it

...

It's called FLEXIBLE SPACE, OP.
Once you add more icons, like add-ons to the right, the space will become smaller.
If you don't want it, simply remove it in the customize menu.
See webm.

Also, my Firefox. Really like it this way.

Can you explain the logic of that? It seems unnecessary. Why not just shrink the address bar automatically like before?

You like having a close button on every tab? For what purpose?
Though desu it's not so easy to remove them.

why is the back button on windows version so nice and shaded and ours is flat :(

use linux we dont have that

In customize, bottom toolbar, click on "title bar" checkbox.

Everything in your image can be fixed, if you're not an idiot. This is how mine looks like.

You can freely choose how wide you want it.
It actually looks nicer when centered in the middle, but that's just taste. If you want to use all the space for buttons, then just remove it, that's what customize is for.
to be honest I just use middle mouse button to close tabs, but the way the title gradually dissappears behind the X looks visually pleasing.
If you don't want the X, add a line to userchrome.css to remove it.
This edge is for dragging the window. That's why it only appears in window mode.
Otherwise normies would have trouble finding the 2 pixels above the tabs which can be used to drag.
If you don't like it, you can remove it with userchrome.css

You best be kidding. I don't want a fucking title bar, what is this, the 90s?

>UNremovable 'Page actions' button in the address bar:
Options:
>Bookmark this Page
>Save page to Pocket
>Copy Link
>Email link
>Send Tab to Device
>Take a screenshot
Yet another assuming piece of crapware browser that treats you like you're 10. Never needed a button for any of these ''actions''. Is this a pathetic attempt to make the browser more ""user friendly"" for my 60 y.o grandma?

doesn't bother me but you can use userchrome.css to remove it

Just the tech illiterates like the Sup Forums crossposters. Firefox is still more robust than chromium browsers. Now its just as fast or faster.

he's using adwaita dark

>linux
its a windows thing

if you havent noticed the X vanishes when tabs become many

>This edge is for dragging the window. That's why it only appears in window mode.
but that was not my question and pic

also every single goddamn thing everywhere has to be a gradient.

Thank you. Some googling came up with this:
`#page-action-buttons {
display: none !important;
}`
I still can't understand why a dev would force you such a silly action button with no way of removing it. Seems unnecessary.

Yeah, they really went too far with all those buttons.
I get the ads, because they need money, but fucking hell keep the UI clean and simple. Most people will never click any of that shit anyway.

Stop it man, the UI is ugly as fuck and anyone with some taste can see it. They're basically aping the default Windows 10 theme.
I always preferred Firefox over Chrome, I never though it was too slow. If they made it faster great, but the UI sucks.

They also really gimped the extensions. Mouse gestures are limited as fuck now.

>Stop it man, the UI is ugly as fuck and anyone with some taste can see it. They're basically aping the default Windows 10 theme.
>I always preferred Firefox over Chrome, I never though it was too slow. If they made it faster great, but the UI sucks.
How does that prove anything what I said wrong? I can still customize quantum more than chromium browsers. maybe not as much as before at the moment, but its still better than chromium. Just because you dont like the look doesnt mean its less capable or that everyone hates the look.

this.
FUCK FIREFAG

Because they are basically starting from scratch. There will be more extensions rolling out. Noscript for instance is going to be released soon. The dev even praises quantum.

I didn't get my yeezy boosts today because the website crashed, and now it's not even loading the webpage

>There will be more extensions rolling out.
It doesn't matter, they'll be limited in functionality.
They're basically Chrome-tier now.

Lol I have a tiling window manager. Didn't even know that shit does that. I just clicked it to get that gap to disappear.

works for me senpai

APIs arent set in stone yet

The fundamental limits are. Half the point of the change is to move the user power -- security gradient far more to the right.

Still better than chromium.
The new noscript sounds like its going to be better than the previous version so it cant all be bad.

is 4chanX working on that shit for you guys?
It doesn't for me
Also 2 of my favorite addons stopped working: Session Manager and Simple Clocks. I want to go back. But if I do, I would have to reinstall all addons, export everything and it seems like a drag.

How have you got :newtab to have a dark background like that?
I can't figure out out how to get FFQ to let me modify internal pages.
Help a brainlet out.

The only one that pisses me off is the one next to the first tab. What the fuck, why? Why not just move it right up to the left?

>rebbit bookmark

You can style those pages in userContent.css
Just put your css in there.
Here's mine:
@-moz-document regexp("about:(newtab|home)") {
body {
background-color: #222 !important;
overflow-y:hidden!important;
}
.prefs-pane-button button{
fill: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0.6)!important;
}
.prefs-pane-button button:hover{
background-color:#222!important;
fill: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0.3)!important;
}
.sidebar {
background-color: #333!important;
color: #FFF!important;
border-left: none!important;
}
.sidebar .actions {
border: none!important;
background-color: #444!important;
color: #FFF!important;
}
.sidebar .actions .done {
background: #383838!important;
border: none!important;
}
.sidebar .actions button:hover:not(.dismiss) {
box-shadow: 0px 0px 5px 2px rgba(255, 255, 255, 0.3)!important;
transition: box-shadow 150ms!important;
}
#onboarding-overlay-button {
display: none!important;
}
}

This makes a dark newtab page, BUT I only styled the page with everything on it disabled. Pic related, these are all ticked off, I didn't style anything else.

is there a way to make the aspect ratio + size of the new tab windows be like before?

I hate this tiny square icon phoneshit

There is for sure, but I don't use those features. I just want a blank but dark page, not gonna bother with the rest.

Thanks dude.
But where does the css file go?
Google says %APPDATA%\Mozilla\chrome\usercontent.css
But this does nothing.

capitalize the C in userContent.css and restart firefox

Also, it's \Mozilla\YourProfile(however it's called)\chrome
you gotta make a chrome folder in your profile folder

...

>What a piece of fucking joke.
>piece of joke

I just use the 'New Tab Override' addon to get a true about:blank new tab, can also set the color for it.

What Sup Forums extension should I use on firefox?

Thank you all for being so patient.

Why does Firefox have such shit tab management ?

Do the following

Open 3 tabs, look at memory usage.

Now open another 6 tabs, look at memory usage.

Now close those 6 tabs, and see that the memory freed is about 100mbs, not more, not back to original 3tab usage. It doesn't fall down until you close all but one tab.

For Chrome it works instantly.

>uses gnome
>calls someone else a brainlet

>gnome
>ubuntu
>reddit bookmark

>Ubuntu
Looks like you're the brainlet here

Clean interface my dude

>Blue bar on tabs.

> Change one little CSS setting
> Click the fox, skip tutorial
> Use new tab override to set it to about:blank (or any page you want)
> Remove flexible space in the Customize menu

Did you actually make a thread bitching about this without even trying to customize? Why do you even use Firefox if you can't handle that? Use Chrome you fucking normie.

>skins are gone
well fuck me, how can i live without lavafox ?

She's beautiful.

Firefox quark is best browser.

The only pro I have seen so far in this shit is the UI config is back
other than that, it is pathetically bad in terms of RAMs
I can close every tab, and leave just one, and it stays at 600-800mb
it is horrible

Do you live in 2002 and are visiting the future with your Toshiba Portégé 2000 laptop?

Ram is cheap. Cram it in.

oh, the good old marketer mentality of blaming the user

my trusty seamonkey stays at 200mb with one tab
I honestly prefer better optimization, than this garbage, which is basically all these unsolicited bundled plugins you can't get rid of, like Pocket, and that screencapture thing that is a cloud service in disguise

At least they are going the right direction: NOW STOP BUNDLING CRAP WITH THE BROWSER

Unused RAM is wasted RAM, cache my friend.

How do you move burger menu to the left?

addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/javascript-control/?src=search

because unused memory is wasted memory
this seems to be a windows thing i recommend to install gentoo

>Ram is cheap
Not anymore

No, not really.

oops missed Sup Forums
there's a Sup Forums media downloader
