this thread is feeling so good right now

Where should I look for a luch like the one on the right?

FPJ

ebay

Just a reminder that after FIFTEEN MONTHS we still have not seen anything from Omega about that buzz Aldrin designed Mars watch. We do however see pictures with an Omega employee obscuring the drawings.

...

Ebay propably is your best bet, but it's very hard to find one in good condition and if you do find one, expect to pay extra.
Wear in the gold plating around the crown is very common because of winding the watch.

For the glory of the soviet union

Casio quartz watches have gone up in price on ebay for no reason.

Watches I used to pay €40 for a year ago are now over €100

...

etsy.com

Not a single nip watch posted yet and i just realized how much nicer European design is than nip shit.

Why would we see anything about it? There's far more profit in more mindless cosmetic special editions, and Omega wouldn't want be seen doing something so unseemly as appearing to actually care about the engineering or horlogerie merits of their watches rather than their "prestige"

Never buy anything from etsy before doign a price check on ebay for that.

Looks nice, reminds me a bit of the new marlin.

This little shitter came in the mail today. 35$, Pretty happy with it.

that is a soviet chronometer really cool watch and movement

looks nice enough. polish that shit up!

What should I buy on this site? good-stuffs.com/

seiko 5 would make a decent xmas gift, what model is best? there's like 6000 diff models and i'm not sure which.
looking at the snxs79 (pic) among others

Picked up the f8192 from the watchmaker today. Was unable to fix the date wheel getting stuck on 12 so will need to order a nos date wheel - the date wheel is plastic so not surprised. No charge at least for an incomplete repair.

That 5 logo should go

Get a vager Hauers moonphase so we have a second user with one (and hopefully a better camera).

For the guy in the last thread asking about where to get a 1963 Seagull, watchunique is the cheapest I think.

What else can I do without a loupe or macro lens?

>tfw taking HGH to increase my wrist size

What are some classy watches for BIG wristed men?

The friendship watch is pretty cute

I'm just giving you a hard time user. You know I love you.

I don;t think you are supposed to wear adult watches when you have a child forearm.

That's probably the ugliest watch I've ever seen, and it probably cost as much as a vintage Rolex

After posting that I realized that I need to get a tripod and set up remote shutter, just for general use. Most of the photos I post are still from my potato phone, but I have a couple decent ones of the moonphase now.

Really consider a lightbox too.

That would definitely help too, although I don't know what I would use it for other than watch pictures.

You just build it for watch photos.

Got this one for me, it´s gorgeous.

sexy

thinking of buying from kabaclyde. What should I know about vintage omegas? Any GOAT movements to look for?

And I only noticed I'd forgotten to set the date after I took the picture.

Eyyy, welcome to the 2209 club.
I got mine for 7 eur + postage.

Nice Vostok, what model is that?

one of the 420se models meranom put out a while back.

People in its 40's-50's will bid for their youth precious mementos.

Their childhood happened in the 80's so go figure.

In the next decade you'll see price increases for 90's kids toys (MTG cards excluded as they already have a market)

Think discmans, tamagotchis and Lego

>stylish diver
>runs for 20 years on solar power with no need for upkeep

Why is there a red stripe on the windy knob user?

It looks like an absolute hunk of shit, it's way too big, and its not mechanically interesting in any way shape or form.

Prefer citizens eco drive to Casio solar 2bh.

>Casio

>Why would we see anything about it?
My hope was that Buzz Aldrin would make some noise about Omega being inexcusably late.
>There's far more profit in more mindless cosmetic special editions,
Tragically that is the truth.
>and Omega wouldn't want be seen doing something so unseemly as appearing to actually care about the engineering or horlogerie merits of their watches rather than their "prestige"
Soon there will be the 50 year anniversary of the first man on the Moon. If they cannot do better than yet another cosmetic re-issue I will SCREAM!

Omega, like many of the major brands, are stuck in the past. I hope MEMS will allow the innovative brands to create new designs that truly provide something new.

>It looks like an absolute hunk of shit,
it looks fine, like a nice diver

>it's way too big,
cuck manlet detected

>its not mechanically interesting in any way shape or form.
>runs for 20 years just on light without service and is more accurate than any mechanical
>not interesting

oh ok

if you like your shitty ugly watch good but don't act like its the best watch you can buy. its not even close. By your retarded logic a solar powered radio controlled g shock is better in every way and costs less.

we were having such a nice thread until the cucks showed up

...

a casio gshock does not have superior seiko diver heritage styling

wow what a horological masterpiece thanks for posting this. I like to wear mine with my suit when i go to work.

561, 564, 751 in the mechanical space

nice wrist cuck fatass

>wow what a horological masterpiece thanks for posting this. I like to wear mine with my suit when i go to work.

I know a lot of professional divers who own rolexes but dive with their SNE437s

you probably don't know anything about diving though

You probably don't know shit about me and you are probably a faggot.

>I know a lot of professional divers who own rolexes but dive with their SNE437s
this

>

I know a lot of divers that dive with a fucking dive compute.

>You probably don't know shit about me and you are probably a faggot.

yes i do and im not gay :^)

commercial and professional divers swear by seikos

they are literally betting their lives

>he hasn't read the instructions
From memory it's due to the battery being used. They can only survive so many charge cycles. I thought it was 5 because it was half the time it takes before you need to replace the capacitor in a citizen.

no it's 20 years

>says 2-3 years in the manual
>n.n..no i.i.i..its 20

Man shut the flip up already. I went diving a few times, I know what time talking about. Real divers use dive computers, retarded posers wear dive watches while diving. Seriously. Whenever I see someone with a dive watch, you can almost guess they're extremely fat, think bud light is the pinnacle of bear, and their baseball caps backwards

>commercial and professional divers swear by seikos
>they are literally betting their lives

this is true

t. commercial diver

Also consider that the gaskets will need changing every 2~4 years depending on the environment they are exposed to.

>Man shut the flip up already. I went diving a few times,
neat
>I know what time talking about.

lol

>Also consider that the gaskets will need changing every 2~4 years depending on the environment they are exposed to.

mainly a hardcore saltwater deep sea diving environment

my seikos normally last about 15 years

So you work with equipment that wouldn't be insured due to not following the correct use procedures?

>Omega, like many of the major brands, are stuck in the past. I hope MEMS will allow the innovative brands to create new designs that truly provide something new.
Ironically it will be the LVMH Group bringing that hope to bear first with the their new silicon oscillator movement. Apparently they plan to put it into production across Zenith, Hublot and even Tag Heueur, which is hilarious when you think about it. Who the fuck would have imagined it would be THEM of all the groups to really try to move the game forwards.

Thanks!

Zenith and Heuer have made innovations in the past so that's not too surprising 2bh.

>So you work with equipment that wouldn't be insured due to not following the correct use procedures?

I am not worried about my watch being insured, I am worried about my very LIFE

that is why I trust SEIKO

>MFW idiots reply to Seiko solar diver bait

Based on some of the high-frequency stuff out of tag like the mikrogirder I'm not actually super surprised.

stop false flagging we all get it

what is false flagging

t. commerical diver

So your not worried about health or life insurance by using unmaintained equipment? Your not worried about bit being covered by insurance if you make a mistake and damage something?
Here you wouldn't even be allowed to put on unmaintained gear even if it's running fine.

Why do some companies like some Lange movements put studs on their balance wheel?

>Here you wouldn't even be allowed to put on unmaintained gear even if it's running fine.
where is here

Where I work each man is responsible for himself, we don't live in socialist countries

>Why do some companies like some Lange movements put studs on their balance wheel?
because they are cuck faggots

Please leave the thread. Something about the weekend always draws shitposters here.

The screws allow them to adjust the inertia of the balance, which helps in adjusting the watch's timekeeping.

Here is my work place. So you don't have a maintenance register or something similar for every person and their equipment and the equipment of the company?
Also I don't live in a socialist country I live in a country that you have to do everything to make sure you have your insurance and can't get sued.

Sup Forums is you're workplace?

Also its sounding more and more like you live in a wild west third world country where anything goes

>Also its sounding more and more like you live in a wild west third world country where anything goes

No I am a highly paid commercial diver for a major oil exploration conglomerate

I mean your not because you don't follow any industry practice. But sure keep up your RP.

nice 2209 homage

>I mean your not because you don't follow any industry practice. But sure keep up your RP.

yes I am

I rely on a seiko SKX desu

SEIKO lume has saved my life more than once!

Because ALS is a luddite brand living in the 1910's.
