No, but even Microsoft seems to be questioning the relevance of windows itself going forward. When MS brags about having the kernel team tweak the IO system to help linux on windows performance, you know the end must be close.

It would be funny as hell if the open source windows becomes the thing that keeps windows relevant as a platform going forward in a few years.

They're still at it. Microsoft's SDK churn is fucked up. I am glad I never invested in SilverLight or Windows Phone as a developer. WP7 was pretty and had a great UX, though.

But russian goverment don't invest in ReactOS.
ReactOS development drive by enthusiasts and community donations. ReactOS don't have help from corporations like linux have except GSoC

FreeDOS took 8 years, and it was a much simple OS. I think ReactOS will eventually get to a stable release, but by that time it will be as relevant as FreeDOS was when version 1.0 came out in 2006.

It's a lot of effort for little gain.

Microsoft is more likely to open source Windows before ReactOS gains feature parity.

Does it really matter though? Which would be the tree that gets more use - I'd bet features would get ported into the reactos tree from any official tree. The code base has got to be horrible.
