Italy is full of them. Every town of 5000 has got at least a couple hundred staying in some hotel waiting for their paperwork to be ready. They aren't the syrian ones, but the african ones who crossed the desert and shit.

They have absolutely no intention of staying in Italy, they hate it and find it boring; their goal is northern Europe, but italian bureaucracy is so slow they stay in Italy for years until they get forced back to Burkina Fasao or whatever.

They are generally nice people. They have nothing to do all day, and don't speak a word of italian (often they only speak some weird tribal bongo bongo lingo that not even their "housemates" understand, so I'm guessing that sucks).
I've tried communicating in english to the few educated ones, but the conversation didn't go far. They do nothing wrong, they've been parked here in a small town surrounded by people who hate them and it must suck real bad

The centre was closed down but now they reopened it, AZC Crailoo. First batches of Syrians are there. I am not going back there to work, fuck no. And now Syrians have priority over any housing that is available, locals can fuck off. Locals also do not get the first 3 months rent for free. Refugees also do not have to pay a deposit.

There is a refugee camp right next to my school so I basically see them every day. They don't make any contact with other people other than buying bread in the supermarket

I havent seen them yet because I live in and travel through overpopulated areas. I walk past thousands of people a day. But I heard we got some in the street that got priority housing.

the thing i dont understand is why every country in europe is giving all of these fucking refugees free money and housing. i get that it is a humanitarian issue, but creating a welfare state in your own country is a very bad idea. especially with the way most baltic countries economies are set up.

everyone knows that people who dont have to work for a living become lazy and stupid, shit out a million kids, and then raise them to be even lazier and stupider than themselves. if you are going to have a ton of immigrants come into your country, atleast have some work lined up for them. even if it is manual labor or something unskilled, it would help them to assimilate into their new surroundings, and learn the language a bit. at the very least it would be better than grouping them all into housing complexes where they will continue to exist separate from their surroundings, and ultimately marginalize themselves even further. all the while, gathering resentment from the general population who are tired of footing the bill for all of their free housing, food, and healthcare.

Yes, she was pregnant and had a child so I gave her money. i understand what you are saying. what i mean is that these muzzies have never had any contact with the dutch or english language and they will never learn if they arent forced to atleast learn how to interact on a basic level. this could be done through work, even if they are overqualified for it, as in the case of your hypothetical syrian rocket scientist. the smart, intelligent syrians would no doubt be an asset to any country; it was one of the more civilized parts of the arab world prior to the civil war. and what better way to jumpstart the development of new language skills than forcing them to do simple daily tasks for themselves?

it might not be that hard for a brazilian. as i understand, you guys have plenty of access to english speaking media. we are much closer to each other both in proximity and culture than the US is with Syria for example. i doubt there are very many resources for learning english in syria because their government and population both fucking hate us.

i for one, know that having access to media in a language that you are trying to learn is immensely helpful in the development of new language skills

i did not know this. that is an interesting way to be able to see who is actually educated or not. are you speaking from experience? where are you from? and if you are a refugee, would you care to weigh in your opinion on this whole situation?

Not a refugee, born and raised here but I am a diver and like the Med. So I have been there and always with someone fluent in French. You can get into doors that will stay closed no matter how good your standard Arab is(some club that was full but suddenly not, restaurant that is full but suddenly not, boat fully booked but suddenly room, opera tickets upgraded to vip, all because you speak to them in French).

I can read a bit and know some phrases, can watch tv but am far from fluent (Alliance Française is quite good I have to say). And even then they are a lot more helpful than if you know English. This goes for Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia that I know of. Libya was on my list but that is postponed for now. Syria was French, some of the refugees speak French, and those are not absolute riotmonkies.

For some reason elite and class and French are associated there(and judging from the asylumseekers I tend to agree). I have been told that is changing but I do not live there and have not visited enough to say it is. All I know is French is a very good thing in the middle-east.

it would be interesting to see how i would do speaking french in one of these countries. likely, if they found out i was an american, they would fuck me up. but perhaps if i could speak with them on a neutral language we could atleast communicate rather than resorting to barbarics.

He had a very specific type of white van and years later I saw that same van parked next to a railway with the same marks and his same chair outside that thing. He had a place but I heard they did kick him out after he refused to pay any rent (something he does not believe in), he had lived there for 6 months. I think he just lived in that van, maybe he still does.

He also had a habit of offering handyman services, off the books you know, and then he would add al kinds of extras and charges and people would get mad and not pay him further untill he did more or fixed his shoddy work and he would refuse. I can only assume everybody around this town knew him and he left.

I do not know about how people would react if you were an American. I was asked a few times but my accent should have told them I wasn't. I sound South-African if anything. I did not get a good or bad vibe from them, they just asked. Could have gone either way. Younger people do tend to speak English, but keep it simple.

And if you as an American would speak French to them maybe they woud be less prejudiced, if they would be to begin with. But I cannot say for certain.

Though as I type this, there is a very good chance girls wil want to get with you. We had one guy in a group we went to Morocco with nail some girl.
