good bass, a bit less treble than my current dt990

superlux 681, were super uncomfortable, bass was ok, it sounded just weird, especially compared to my current one(dt990)

dt990 I love everything about these besides the treble, which is too loud, it makes me "hate" listening to music after a while, I have to take a break but after the break, listening with it again is so hnnnnnng

>Genres
I mostly listen to classical music, piano solos, EDM/electro/house music, rock, hiphop

I make my own music too but i use mostly my monitors while doing it, so not sure if thats relevant here

currently have my eyes on dt1990 but they are quiet expensive and 400 is my absolute max

What's the second best headphone behind the MA900?

HD650.

Hifiman looks really good, as far as I just read about them, it seems like they invested everything in sound and didn't bother with its materials/build quality

gonna try them thx

Never have had good headphones

I was looking a HD 598s last week for about a 100 dollars but I was too slow to pull the trigger and now they're not on super sale.

Look for a new sale on those or the HD579 on friday.

What is the second best headphone behind the HD600?

How are these for video games?

I have an Audio Technica M50X and yet another dead $5 Zalman mic.

Thinking of using the ATs for general use and single player games and the HyperX Cloud II for multiplayer games.

Wrong question at the wrong time, my dear user
Which are poorly sealed MA900s btw

massdrop.com/buy/massdrop-x-sennheiser-pc37x-gaming-headset?mode=guest_open

Just buy a decent mic instead.

Cooler Master MH750 Headphone Nvidia GTX edition 1 in the world

build quality is actually good on them, I have no problems with the sturdiness. The real problem with hifiman is quality control. Some people receive pairs with stupid shit wrong with them. My pair arrived with no issues but I won't deny that there are issues with their inspection process.

who cares

I currently have ATH M50X's, and I'm looking to get some decent Bluetooth headphones. I'm aware it's not on some audiophile shit, but I want something that'll sound comparable for basic bitch stuff like streaming content and music.

What's my best option for about $120-150?

That's funny because the sound is no good.

>t. No headphones user

Nah, I own and use the golden standard in headphone fidelity.

Recommendations for over ear headphone to watch out for on Black Friday?

Preferably with velour earpads.

Really? What about a pic + timestamp?

>decent
>Bluetooth

Does not add anything to the discussion.

You literally just claimed to own the pair. Nice try though, no headphones user

thx dude i'll check em out

Should I pull the trigger.

Any last thoughts. My headphones are HD600.

Overpaying for DAC and cables.

Audio Technica ATH AD500X

Tell my why I shouldn't buy ATH M50x.

Thankyou

I got them new for ~70 dollars at costco. Enjoy them a ton. 1more is pretty solid.

nice, if i find them for cheap like that i'll give them a try

Modi 2 measures like ass.

Nice try no headphones user. Maybe you should EQ your dollar store earbuds.

Idol trash here.
What's your setup like, user?

The uber measures fine.

>massdrop portapro out for delivery today
Nice.

Let's play a game: guess the headphone for this EQ.

DT990?

Nope. It's a meme around here though.

m50x?

nope

M50x isn't good enough to be a meme, the original M50 was, which I got in 2013

Snapheiser meme600s

Why do you need a discrete aftermarket DAC? I get why you would need an amp for high-impedance headphones, but doesn't your onboard soundcard do the DAC itself?

No, although my HD600 EQ looks a tiny bit similar. That one soon.

I have a feeling it's the 650 more than the 600, desu

most of the time yes you're right, an onboard dac is sufficient. Sometimes though there is noise from the computers internals, so outboard may help isolate your system from that.

Are you even trying?
HD600 is the target curve, thus it does not need EQ.

This. The gold standard for fidelity is the HD600.

>HD600 is the target curve
Amazing bait

The answer was my modded MA900

Thanks for playing.

How are the China pads treating you?

They're nicer than the originals desu

I like this game

Anyone knows what's the best DAC gor akg k612's? Preferably under 100$. Thanks for the help.

I was thinking about a Used LCD-3 since they are about the same price as a new LCD-2

...

LCD-3 isn't neutral. Save up for SR-009 or something, you're the fag that was interested in STAX?

no

Cloud II is surprisingly good for a headset.

I asked in another thread and some user told me it's not strong enough.

FiiO A3 just arrived for my Sennheiser HD 558 on dualshock 4.

Sound is amazing compared to what it was before. Thanks for the suggestion guys, really appreciate it.

Good Amp/Dac £200 ~ £300. Headphones are HD600.
£60 over my limit.

JDS labs element or O2/odac

I want over ear active noise cancelling headphones, wired. Would like to spend under a hundred dollars.

Any black Friday/Cyber Monday deals coming? I need these explicitly to drown out Christmas music for the next four weeks.

Is turning the volume up on my open-eared dt880s and just putting them around my neck to listen to them bad for them? I don't turn my amp/dac up or anything. Just feels its a bit more comfy sometimes to do it this way, and the quality is still good.

>Is there anyway a lymie like me can get one?
literally less than a neophyte could build one user, they have a guide included intended for mentally disabled children to be able to follow along

Just out of curiosity, what amp/dac/etc do you fellow HD650 users have?

LCD-2.

NFB-11

It isn't at all, get the Sabre UAE23 for $40 and Magni 3 for $99.

so what's going on with the magni 3? why are there no measurements yet? reviewers are consistently saying it comes off as warm sound and not neutral. now we starting to get reports that it doesn't put out much power:

youtu.be/zE8pvqBlges?t=10m6s

reddit.com/r/headphones/comments/7eb23w/schiit_magni_3_lacking_in_power/

did schiit release an amp that performs worse overall than its predecessors?

Could be that it's shit, or it could be that it's because of Schiit's lousy QC yet again. Or both.

What buy. Thinking about ATH M50X

Thank you

try a CAL! for $50

HD569

is HD579 good for outdoors?

Any Linux Audiophiles here?
Wonder what sort of programs/set ups they use.

Lollypop on Pulseaudio with pulseeffects parametric EQ

used to use EQ10Q and JACK, stopped caring for some reason and went to pulseaudio + occasionally pulseeffects + spdif

bs2b is neat but I have a hardware crossfeed that is better, as is the ffmpeg hrtf plugin but couldn't find a good dataset that I liked

anyone have fostex th x00's? I've been almost buying a pair for about a month now

Yes, get the ebonies. They're great.

yes, biodyna is fucking crazy

Glad to see people use other stuff than mpd/ncmpccp (that's what I use anyways)

do you have a logitech k830? I didn't know I needed it so badly

Coloration seems unlikely. More likely the usual unreliability of subjective amplifier impressions.
Would anyone be willing put theirs up for measurement?
