That is not what he argued. He used psychology studies on men and women and their interests to argue that more men on average tend to have an interest in tech compared to women, which is why there is more men in tech. While he argued that women had more interests than men in other fields, which explained why there are more women in certain other fields. Then he argued that based on this it is wrong to discriminate against men in hiring practices to achieve a perfect 50/50 balance of men and women.

He also argued that diversity of opinion is more important than diversity of skin and gender.

Then news outlets went crazy, and instead of just plainly posting his memo, the journalists instead wrote their interpretation of the memo, and in the cases where they actually linked to the memo, they edited the memo and removed all the sources to the scientific studies he based everything on, because they don't want their readers to look at wrong think studies.

Sufferer's of the syndrome have a long and narrow face, and a tendency to have autism. They also tend to have huge balls, which would explain why published the Google memo. I think the diagnosis is pretty clear.
