No.

Maybe.

Yes

Is that CRT? I thought that was actually a Vector Monitor?

CRT would still cause aliasing. And no, there's no way we could render the stuff we render now with vector draw commands.

Doubt it, one of the man problems is how fucking heavy they are. If there was a way to make CRTs but lightweight then maybe. I mean I know they somewhat were able to make the screens flatter because I have an old flat tube crt tv set sitting in another room.

Not with OLED technology becoming more and more viable for use in computer monitors.

...

That's a vector monitor, not a CRT. CRT is pixelated, there's litteraly nothing different to modern display technologies...

This

Imagine if they kept working on vector monitors though, they could be in pretty amazing shape now

>What we had
Vector graphics
>What we have now
Raster graphics

I'm just trying to imagine how to do a good fill method with vector on a screen. Did anything ever do that? I can only picture doing outlines of shapes.

You would just define the area under the outline as a color, idk much about programming but some highschool calc could accomplish what you want.

is it possible to develop a monitor with as little as response time as crts had with the technology we have now or with other display types?

nope

That's the thing, there's no pixels, you don't just fill everything under the curve, because there are an undetermined number of back and forth arcs that would need to fill in under the first line. Vector displays wouldn't be defined in fixed width and height framebuffers.

With rasterized vectors like with flash and svg, you can figure out what pixels within the shape need to be on, but filling a light vector shape would mean you'd get some kind of saturated striation effect.

Un-Ironically I believe that it'll be something hipster like vinyl. Same arguments (waves not bits)

I don't think you realize the expense of manufacturing and shipping CRTs versus a piece of plastic.

There are already retro LAN parties where only CRTs are allowed.

kek

>will obsolete garbage ever comeback?

I fuckin hope not.

lan partys with crts how cruel I member those fucking heavy monitors
