Wotan/Svarog (?) are the highest as you go north in Europe, that pic shows that ancient slavs revered Thor/Perun more for He represents civilization and is a friend to mankind. Wotan is more neutral, bloodthirsty.
mulțumesc

t. expert on germanic
To 6th century AD there is no way to tell Eastern Germanics and Western Slavs apart. In fact, Eastern Germanics magically disappear when Western Slavs start to rule over their former land.
Этo Джapaхoв?
Lolwhat? Slav paganism was totally different from German, at least Russian one.
Because western Slavs are not real Slavs. Real Slavs praised Perun (god of war and lightning), Makosh (goddess of water), Veles (god of wealth and death), Svarog (god of wind), Dazhd'bog (god of sun). We had distinctive culture unknown to poles who were cucked by Europeans since middle ages.
They were fleeing the huns. Slavs resettled the land. Also, judging by the helmets, the soldiers appear to be norse, not continentals.
> germanic totally different from slavic
different yes but similar too.
>Slavs resettled the land
Gregory of Tours says that Vandals returned to their homeland in Silesia though.
Tacitus claims Eastern Germanics differ from Western ones.
Archeology shows the same burial technique of both Eastern Germanics and early Western Slavs.
Russians are a mix of local population like: tatars, finno-ugrics, turkics etc etc.
im telling your mother that you were looking at the nudes on her phone
Eastern Germanics ceased to be a ethnic group outside of the ostrogothic remnants in Crimea about this time. They were distinct from the west Slavs, with a different language, religion, and origin.
We are mix of Eurasian cultures as all Slavs - Bulgarians, yugoslavs etc, and you're a mix with European culture which is totally not Slavic.
Poles are Slavs with the same origin as Russians.
They did a wonderful job of assimilating those who they came in contact with, but their ethnic origin is the same as yours.
We're all in the same boat, as people and culture we are all alike in this part of Europe, western world is not even worth remembering.
and there you are wrong

True, both have similar origins, but it's been a while.

Most beautiful Slavic language to you?
Ukrainian
Then Czech and Slovak, then Russian, then Serbocroatian
Polish is relatively low in my ranking due to extremely monotonous """"melody"""" of the language. But people at least speak loud and clear most of the time, here people speak Russian like overstressed children, deleting all vowels except stressed ones and speaking very quietly
Tez mam w planach pozwiedzac ukraine
russian, belarusian, ukrainian, slovak
Polecam. Nie wszystkie miasta sa spoko, ale wiekszosc jest 5/5 bretty gud
Tell me, does word stress in Ukrainian work the same as in Russian in that it's kind of random, or is there some pattern?
Which Total War is that?
Attila?
The principles are the same in Ukrainian language as they are in Russian. Stress can fall anywhere within a phrase.
The only difference is that native speakers of Ukrainian (western parts of the country) speak more clearly - most unstressed vowels are not reduced, and the stressed vowel is stressed reasonably strongly, while in Russian you go full Anglo - shout the stressed vowel and delet everything else, like you do it in English (all accents).
Speakers of Ukrainian in lands that previously spoke Russian (in Kiev, for example) and are relearning Ukrainian use Ukrainian syntax, but their pronunciation is really foreign: stress is strong like in Russian, letter г is usually voiceless instead of voiced, people speak autistically quietly, etc.

Wait. When you said "here" did you mean Ukraine?

Yep, I'm travelling. I'm a Pole by my passport.
It's in one dialect continuum with Russian and Belorussian.
"Language is a dialect with an army and a navy". The distinction between a dialect and a language is purely political and has nothing to do with linguistics. I consider Ukrainian a language because the sheer existence of a Ukrainian country, muh Kozaki and muh Chmielnicki is enough of political presence for it.
Yes, Ukraine. Sorry for the confusion.
Slovenian
Thanks for the answer. Do eastern Ukrainians speak Russian with any hint of a Ukrainian accent or do they mostly speak in a standard Russian way? My father grew up in western Ukraine and while speaking Russian, he sometimes pronounces words in a more Ukrainian way (Хoвopить instead of Гaвapить or Moлoкo instead of Maлaкo.)
what does russian when he want to create infinitive loop of laughing?
>he try to find ukrainian manual.
how do russian sound like an village retard?
>they do speak polite ukrainian
why do russian engineer die from laughter?
>he finally found ukrainian manual and read it.

read about so called surjik accent. also ukrainian is just surjik from Poltava. after maidan ukies replaced it with surjik from Lvov.
Ukies are only country where the goverment is so fucked up that they invented the fucking "institute of history and langiage" where 5 year middle school educated fuckwits replace russian words with polakish and jewish slang so "everything just not russian"
Dobroe utro, slavyane!
Kak dela?
One more hour till I go home from work.
Today I did absolutely nothing today.
Stop it, pls
Average ukrainians don't support all of this shit.
It's about stupidness of the government, not stupidness of people.
At least that's what I heard from ukies.
>empty insults in form of a x jokes in a serious thread
>German flag
Render me surprised
Eastern Ukrainians speak Russian or a shitty Russified Ukrainian. Most of the country speaks Russian, but due to political reasons a lot of them are tryharding to use Ukrainian, even as far east as in Kharkiv. I favour this because I personally like Ukrainian more, it's nicer for my ear.
Pronouncing Г as Х is, however, a thing typical of all Russian-speaking Ukrainians, I don't know why. I think it's a feature of the accent of Ukrainian Russian. Ukrainian language doesn't pronounce Г as Х, it pronounces it very differently. X is a voiceless velar fricative and it also exists in modern Polish (spelled h and ch). Native Ukrainian Г is a voiced glottal fricative, so it's like in Czech and Slovak.
Lack of akanie (pronouncing unstressed o as a) is something I haven't heard in Russian language speakers in Ukraine, so it may be your dad.
Far-East user, privet bro.
What's your job?
>Yes, Ukraine. Sorry for the confusion.
I just sounded weird for me when you said that people there "delete all vowels". From my experience, Ukrainians barely reduce vowels even when they speak Russian. They always pronounce them longer than we do except for the pretonic position.
Zdorovo
sysadmin
How much gooks do you have there?
and what do you specifically do as a sysadmin?
>surjik
>from Lvov
Are you completely retarded?
And it's not surjik (cypїк, wtf?), but surzhik
You are correct. But from my experience, Russian speakers in Ukraine generally reduce vowels just as heavily as they did it in Russia.
My opinion may be biased because Polish doesn't reduce anything, but then again I spent long years trying to learn Russian, so I guess my opinion is somewhat objective.
Not much.
Since the fall of rouble I see a lot of chink tourists coming here for shopping though
>Russified Ukrainian.
how is this possible when ukrainian is a fucking hillbilly russian?
>And it's not surjik (cypїк, wtf?), but surzhik
sorry dont care about colors of shit that much.
I thought poles arent slavs
Hacking american politicians
you maybe right.. nazis raped many blond genes there.
What do you gain out of this?
If your nation speaks primarily a Slavic language, then you are a Slav.
Otherwise Bulgarians would be Tatars and Macedonians would be Hellenic, Poles of course would be Wendic and Sarmatian, and Russians a mixture of Vikings with steppe Turkics and Mongolians :^)

Yes, I have Jewish roots and I love to roleplay the Jewish muh heritage. Too bad that in reality I don't even remotely look Jewish, blue eyes and straight nose, etc. My family has hooked noses tho, I guess I'm some sort of Aryan rapebaby.
