Wow.... So this is what it's like..... For redditors to be blown the fuck out....

fuck off with the shit image you meme loving faggot normie

They pay their bills now retard. This is about double billing. You pay to enter or exit the highway, not both.

BTFO

this is the first time i've heard something about it i actually agree with

now i understand why they shill this every fucking on day on reddit

i cant wait for it to go through and see them all butthurt and crying about their master losing netflex money

That depends on the highway.

you have to go back poltards

Simply use another one of the many highways that service your home if you don't like it. No need to allow municipal highway construction because the competition is already so fierce and consumer centric.

Why isn't net neutrality a good choice?

Large ISPs aren't going to stop lobbying against municipal broadband and shared fiber otherwise, keeping themselves in a position of oligopoly.

>No need to allow municipal highway construction because the competition is already so fierce and consumer centric.
Yeah, Comcast's competition is sooooooo fierce, (HOW FIERCE IS IT?) Comcast's competition is sooooooo fierce, they give zero fucks about being the most hated company in America. They have virtually, zero competition. And it's not because they excel at what they do, either.

nice autism comic

so, short netflix?

They have no competition because the barrier to entry is so high due to gov regulation

Obviously OP is bait because bandwidth cost is negligible once the infrastructure is in place. These cable companies and other ISPs have 95+% profit margins providing Internet service.

That aside, one argument against net neutrality is that the issue is better addressed legislatively as opposed to unelected officials.

>pay debt kike
>coming from comcast and verizon
Do Trump supporters pretend to be stupid?

Pic in OP is how I pay for TV
I pay for the channels I want

>gov regulation
There's those dirty words again.

Yes goy, companies are paying millions of dollars and years of lobbying hard against the interests that their customers clearly state because they want to give you the product they currently do cheaper and better than before!
HEHEHEHE GOOD GOY!

And remember goyim, everyone who says net neutrality is good is from reddit. Do you want to be associated with reddit?! Oy gevalt, how embarrassing that would be! So you simply MUST oppose their views, or are you a liberal?!

No it's because of diminishing marginal costs which generate natural monopolies

That's a retarded meme. Netflix and other internet companies already pay tons of money for high speed links at their server farms, and you pay your ISP for whatever speed link you get to the internet, your ISP shouldn't be able to charge Netflix or other sites for something you and netflix are already paying for.

These clowns who support this shit, remind me of my Grandmother when she gets those Nigerian millionaire emails.
>W-why would they lie?

honestly, net neutrality is certainly good for the average person who just uses facebook and chat services, and terrible for people who torrent all day.

I mean yes and no. Gov regulation is part of it, but the other part is the sheer amount of money required to build up infrastructure. Even with zero government regulation, the cost of entry is still quite high.

* the end of net neutrality is certainly good for...

who else is looking forward to our cyberpunk dystopia? get ready to plug in your exta-drives to the wavenet to send some packetworms past those flesh-norms' firefences and steal the gigafile from the maincent. see you chits on the the interwave.

its not a meme, its good bait

So the solution is MORE government regulation?

Good luck getting past The Great Wall of Comcast, user. Many a good man has been sacrificed trying.

don't fuck this up you goddamn retards

Indeed. Why would they need to pay for their upload AND your download?

The only thing that should matter to your ISP is how much traffic you generate, not how you generate this traffic. People like OP who want their ISP to throttle services are dumb fucks. It's not like there's any benefit for us at all.
And if you think "I'll just get a VPN!", think again. They'll certainly throttle that the most. Especially if you generate a lot of traffic through it.

People who come here, shilling for the end of net neutrality are either shills or people who desperately want to find Trump and the GOP good and have to do all kinds of mental gymnastics to rationalize their ridiculous decisions.
They don't even care how much they shoot themselves in the foot.
Tax cuts for the 1%? Yaay! That'll somehow boost the economy!
Getting rid of net neutrality? Companies wouldn't ever lobby for something that doesn't benefit the customer, would they?!
No regulations on assault weapons? Well of course not, every single shooting was staged by (((them))), I need muh gunz when I go to war with the gubberment to shoot down stealth bombers and modern tanks. Muh gorilla warfare will make it possible!

God damn it.

I'm gonna need more neon signs in my city for me to really get into it

this. gov regulation is actually very hands off. the barrier of entry is the fucking massive entry cost for equipment and distribution setups. essentially the reason they want net neutrality gone is to create a true natural Monopoly instead of a competitive natural Monopoly.

It was years ago but I saw someone who had done a through analysis about the internet infrastructure over here contrasted to the rest of the world (not as a unity) and the conclusion was basically that individual companies owning the cables ruins the market because their value is not based on a provider yet the provider gets full control over the users options.

That's the US situation.

You're a good guy, user. Escape while you're young.

>land of the free

No, it's not double billing, it's about changing the pricing from a flat fee for everyone to a (flat) rate. For some it may be cheaper, for large mega tech corps it may be more expensive and rightfully so. This is the right and progressive choice, the richer you are the more you pay. I can't stand fake liberals saying that everyone should have the same access at the same price, it's like arguing for a flat fee tax, dumb as fuck. If anything ISPs should be charging a progressive rate, so the more you use the more expensive it gets.

>not living in Hong Kong
unironically literally why in 2017

Romania, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark
all have faster Internet than the US,
thanks to government regulation.

ISPs don't charge other service providers unless they actually host those service providers in which case they do charge progressive rates. Do you understand peering agreements?

Transfer is usually billed by volume, outgoing traffic only.
Net neutrality means that the rate is the same regardless of what KIND of data is in transit, or what the origin is, not how much.

>the government gave ISPs tax payer money to make their infrastructure
>instead they pocket most of the money and put the absolute minimum in small cities and rural areas
>they keep lobbying against competition and raising prices despite not making the service any better
>they literally put data caps, sell customer data and MITM http requests to inject ads and notifications
>somehow, Sup Forumsjeets want to give them even more power to fuck their customers because... SJW cuck reddit dindu tumblr tranny (((parentheses))) [insert buzzword of the day here]
Sup Forumsjeets must die.

Please don't post this. I get you're being ironic and think it's funny but keep in mind all the people from Sup Forums who actually fall for the hivemind. I would appreciate it if you could delete your post from this site and refrain from posting it again.

>What do you mean we can't charge more to send a packet across a country rather than across a city?
Thanks obama!

Because when you pay for internet access you pay for access to the whole network and not just your city. If the ISP actually has a problem sending that packet then maybe they should invest all of those stolen tax dollars into upgrading their infrastructure.

Will this hurt Netflix loving redditor normalfags?

Net neutrality never took root in America because the users see themselves not as the throttled proletariat, but as temporarily embarrassed CEOs of giant Internet companies.

>If the ISP actually has a problem sending that packet then maybe they should invest all of those stolen tax dollars into upgrading their infrastructure.
You know that that would not happen even if net neutrality was enforced dumbfuck.

You pay for what the provider is willing to provide you. I'll simply pay more for a unlimited plan and not have to contend with you poor folks for the same bandwidth.

Yes goy, yes, it will! So you will support destroying net neutrality, right?! Really show it to these leddit-goyim, right?! Hehehe, yes, because that's all that matters!
That this leftist scum suffers! But you, you clever enlightened right winger, won't support their ridiculous ideas! My, how superior you are to them! Oy what a goy that user!

So now that we've clearly established that web neutrality needs to go because reddit wants it around, go ahead goy, protest your stupid consumer rights that exist to protect you, so we can finally take them away and throttle the internet and ruin your experience until you give us at least 6 million shekels! Can't you clearly see the benefits, eh goy?
Also keep supporting tax cuts for god's chosen, the USA needs those, it will definitely help the middle class, hehehe...

These are just Sup Forums threads now

Why does nobody realize the problem comes when YOU ARE a small website, that makes no money whatsoever (or a negligible amount) and you have to pay?? Fucking bullshit.

>Indeed. Why would they need to pay for their upload AND your download?
by this logic only the caller or receiver should need to have a phone service subscription in order to talk to each other

Umm, no sweetie. You pay for your download, they pay for their upload. That's how it already happens.

With this suggestion, you'd pay for your download, they'd pay for their upload and they'd basically pay for it twice because they also need to pay for your download.
And no, they don't pay for 50% of your download, they pay extra.

>faggots don't realize that the only websites that are going to survive are the big ones like Facebook and Google
You think Hiroshimoot is paying Comcast for high speed peering? Enjoy getting slowed down to 56k if you're in the US.
