What's your country's excuse for not letting students decide between Intelligent Design and Evolution?

What's your country's excuse for not letting students decide between Intelligent Design and Evolution?

Why can't you just show both arguments and let people make up their own minds on the issue?

implying one contradicts another
do they even teach you epistemology in the tai colleges

because you can't teach one specific religion's beliefs in school when so many different people and religions go through public school

if you want to learn some religious bullshit go to a private religious school

1 the students don't and shouldn't make the decision on what they have to learn
2 in science the idea is to show the current accepted theory as an overview for the viewpoints of the debates, it doesn't mean for every theory you can just as well teach the opposite
eg. we all can accept that majority of the scientific literature is okay with universal expansion but does that mean teachers have to teach the possibility of universal shrinkage as well, multiverse, holo-verse or the electric universe theory? obviously it would be educationally meaningless since you can do that for every scientific theory

we have an ongoing gas leak
all over the south

Who designed the designer?

because Intelligent Design is so fucking stupid?

>yeah let me make every planet near you inhabitable and make the one you inhabit in dangerous as fuck

seems legit

there isn't a "you" in intelligent design just as well there is no "you" in a watch

My school had religious studies which was optional and science so no excuse needed.

there is a (You) in that post though

Our constitution provides for this thing called separation of church and state which does largely rely on laicité in education. Is intellectually dishonest to make the claim intelligent design is not a religious idea when there's absolutely no scientific evidence to support its claims.

la-mu

the argument for intelligent design is based on the fact about complexity not perceived danger

FUCKING THIS

Being religious doesn't preclude believing in evolution desu

Don't worry people! We are ALL going to be saved by Jesus Christ.
Pope Francis, the holy one, is the reencarnation of our lord Jesus Christ and he is here to save us.

If you are a degenerate, please reconsider. Hell isn't a nice place, hell is a place full of TORTURE AND FLAMES THAT IS AWAITING FOR EVERY SINGLE ATHEIST AND MUSLIM IN THIS DAMNED EARTH

Because intelligent design is fucking retarded and the point of school is to make kids distinctly not fucking retarded.

adorable... but is she a cat or a fox?

let's not go into gnosticism or something

Schools are free to teach intelligent design here.

But teaching evolution is mandatory.

>If you are a degenerate, please reconsider. Hell isn't a nice place, hell is a place full of TORTURE AND FLAMES THAT IS AWAITING FOR EVERY SINGLE ATHEIST AND MUSLIM IN THIS DAMNED EARTH
Doesn't sound like a very Catholic line of persuasion 2bh

Muslims would say the same about you :)

cat, fox has brush tails

>Schools are free to teach intelligent design here.
In science class?

This. Exactly this.

Is the holy one, pope francis, a muslim?
Is Jesus Christ a muslim?
Is the virgin mary a muslim?
No, they aren't.

THEN WHY THE FUCK SHOULD I CARE ABOUT THOSE CRIMINAL SAND PEOPLE? GOD HAS A PLAN FOR THEM: ETERNAL FLAMES.

AND IM OK WITH THAT PLAN

They'll be in purgatory. Like us.
Catholicism isn't a very smug religion, but it's comfy cause God loves us.

Doesn't matter. Earth sciences, biology or religious classes can all cover it.
The final exams are national. And schools must educate children to be able to pass the national exams.
If the quality of education is sufficient for that your school gets funding. If it doesn't, it gets closed down.

What you teach at the side doesn't matter. So you could just open a nazi school for all they care. Religious schools all get government funding.
But all Muslim high schools have been closed down due to lack of quality. We currently only have a single one I believe which recently opened.

>Intelligent Design
>Arguments

it is pretty tame
the controversy is the choice over evolution
intelligent design doe does not negate evolution

Well, evolution only cares about if some mutation is able to survive and procreate. Which is hardly intelligent.

what about an intelligent design which predestined the evolution and its outcome?

btw do you know that modern physicists claim that we don't have the free will and everything is predestined

Abiogenesis (currently an unsolved problem in science) is the intelligent part

wtf Thailand
Stop the Americans letting you convert to their Protestantism.
Become at least Catholic.

I bet you plebs also belive in free choice

>btw do you know that modern physicists claim that we don't have the free will and everything is predestined
wew
They most certainly do not claim that

who knows what set what in motion
ID isn't about what evolution isn't but to be the deus ex machina if you will to the question of existence, where do you push the boundary of the beginning and so forth

there isn't so much controversy about it normally since it is just some unprovable factoid but it comes from the choice over the teaching of evolution which was made optional or even replaced by religious undertones

ID itself just says that it is not possible for a complex universe to not be without some intelligent input or something, evolution included
in other words it is just the blind watchmaker argument

That could be. But then I wonder what the intended outcome is.

As far as we know, nothing is random above the atomic level. Therefore, everything above the atomic level can be predicted.

not relevant either
the "intelligent" being could simply died, nothing says it is transcendent or even immortal

It's only logical. Every action is a reaction.

Cool. Where's the weather forecast for July 27, 2023?

A jew

I studied in a catholic school. They were actually very open about it, since they taught me about evolucion, the big bang theory ,etc.

What determines the weather? The gravity of the moon and sun, heath differences that cause air flows. On an atomic level you could trace all movements all the way back to the big bang.

There are some unexplained things like virtual particles, but even those particles probably follow the laws of causality in some way.

>no forecast
ah yes, very deterministic

you can google it

it's not a uniform opinion though because quantum processes still can affect the macroscopic ones, but it's a popular opinion

btw christianity claims that we have free will but their idea of free will may allow determinism, which is questionably itself if you dig deeper... you can read for instance boethius and his idea that if the god knows the future it still keeps the will of humans free if the god is but a spectator

if jews were a race of cat-o-fox girls they would be universally belowed

Public education have a curriculum to be followed. Private schools have a little more freedom and can teach that as extracurricular.

Some private schools even have religion classes. I'm totally okay with that, after all parents should be informed of the curriculum a school is teaching and choose whether they want their kid educated there or not.

Okay but there's the uncertainty principle. So in essence you could, if you had all the information. But you can't get all the information.

technically you can, you just change the outcome

it's questionable how much the quantum uncertainty matters on the macro level, the opinion that free will is a myth is very popular among scientists

only because it is undefinable
free will is mostly a category of perception existence is not necessary

one is a pseudoscientific principle put forth by crazed fundamentialists lacking critical thinking skills

the other one explains how this weeds out the unfit for survival.
