Is it true that americans tip and give extra money for nothing? Or it's just a meme?

If you don't tip at a restaurant, the waiters and waitresses take a photo of you, post it online, and name and shame you.

>go to cinema
>forget to clap
>the clapistani police arrest you
>must pay a tip to the police for escorting you

People blow it way out of proportion here. In the US people tip just as much as they do in Canada. Typically 5-15% of the cost of a meal at a restaurant for a waiter or waitress. People also tip chauffeurs and bellboys too, mainly if they're affluent though.

>Greedy Europeans stiff poor workers despite excellent service

Any tipping is dumb

agreed
it just makes workers feel more entitled

the only tip they'll get from me is the tip of my dick tbqh

Actually I take that back, tipping for exceptional service is perfectly fine

>his country forces people to rely on the generosity of strangers despite having a job

>go to cinema
>get to penis inspection area
>i'm uncut
>they kick me out and take my crab legs

>go to cinema
>get shot

only time i ever tip in Australia is if the waiter or the food is REALLY fucking good (i mean REALLY good). Or if the pizza man is taking too long to get my 50 cents change then i tell him to keep it.

>be EMT
>work for private ambulance company
>most of our work is hospital to hospital shit
>work Christmas last year
>families pay hundreds of dollars to transport their old, senile and unable to walk relatives to Christmas parties for one last visit with the family
>mfw I got tipped $40 for helping grandma see the family one last time before she dies in a few weeks

Feels weird man.

>mfw americans clap when the waitress brings their meal

That's not really the case, though.
We can easily not tip if we don't feel that the person providing the service deserves it. I can't recall ever being in that situation though.

The way I see it is, if you're going to go out and eat at a restaurant then you can probably spare an extra few bucks to your service.

Tipping is rude here
the response you will get is usually
"DO I LOOK LIKE A BEGGAR/EGYPTIAN TO YOU?"

Does anyone know why the clapping meme is exclusively Americans?

I've been to Argentina where they clap at the end of movies, and when the plane lands safely.

Yes, well we don't have that problem here.
Our beggars are rounded up and hidden away from us normal folk.

what do they do if the plane lands unsafely?

Get tipped by the pilot

Who invited the Finn?

We don't actually clap when we get our food hahahahhaha.
This is the first time that I've heard this and I'm tempted to actually try it the next time I go out.

We are guilted into giving everyone a tip so even shitheads get a small amount. So yes and it sucks.

Maybe if you're a poorfag such as yourself

because american banter consists of clinging to every american stereotype people come up with to appear to be gigantic retards, this conflicts with the fact that USA is, indeed, number 1, and acts as an automatic counter-insult to everyone who insults us in any way, because you will always be worse than you claim us to be.

So to summarize. Americans clap because we want to make you think we clap.

>"DO I LOOK LIKE A BEGGAR/EGYPTIAN TO YOU?"
>DO I LOOK LIKE A ...EGYPTIAN TO YOU?
Yes.

Why would I want to give some idiot money for nothing? That makes no sense and it has nothing to do with income.

wtf i shoot you now
do I look black to you?

...

>t. Waiters

It's about the principle.

Was just a joke, bud.

that's a good stimulus to land safely for the pilot

Lol

you should tip everybody so everybody will like you

Americans always want to be loved by everyone

>what do they do if the plane lands unsafely?

Eat eachother

Glad that you love me, baby.
Maybe I'll throw you a Foster's for being so loyal.
You guys like piss beer right?

I don't even know anywhere that sells fosters here in all honesty

Yeah
Honestly I avoid eating at certain places because I might not have enough for the tip
It's robbery through social stigma

they are some happy looking cannibals

I have American friends on steam and they tip me for talking to them.

>forgot to tip
>get shot
Kek.

Yes and it's shit, makes you have to calculate ahead of time how much you'll really spend and allows employers to underpay employees.
People also clap at cinemas here and it's fucking retarded.

People here clap when a waiter drops the plates.
