I conned my way into a network security job at a 500 employee company for my first job. Couldn't code for shit but I knew a bit about encryption, passwords and 'common sense'. Stayed there for 3 years, slowly learning wtf I was doing and googling everything I needed to know on my phone.

Sure fucking was. But I went in without certs, degree or skill and came out with tons of certs and working knowledge of backend development, network security and lying like a jew.
