Nano > vim
So install them?
Enjoy your wasted screen space.

Why not gentoo, user?
Using nano results in vim-like commands typed at random locations in my document.
No, YOU don't have aptitude installed by default.
does Gentoo have vim installed by default?
vim can compete with Emacs and you just said that nano is superior to vim?

i don't use emacs to do anything other than edit text. but i don't just edit files on my computer though, it can also edit text on other computers, in emails, irc, a shell, etc
apt install vim-gnome #ezpz "+ clipboard support
sudo update-alternatives --config editor
there is zero reason to use aptitude
also install neovim, fag.

I think they're just embarrassed that apt is actually just a glorified frontend like aptitude was
Too true, I end up doing that I nano after using vim for a while

FUCK THIS BLOAT

Pleb distro
Agreed. Ubuntu is so bad.
Eh it's just an easier and simpler command to do the same thing. Until I have no "apt-get" stuff left to manage, I'm keeping that in muscle memory. Better to apt-get on systems that also have apt than to apt on systems that don't have it.
"Ubuntu" derives from an African word meaning "can't figure out Debian".
"Ubuntu" derives from an African word meaning "MUH DICK".
It has the Ubuntu Software Center and Gedit, both are superior.
Oh shit. Thanks for reminding me. I just did a fresh install of ubuntu.
sudo apt-get purge nano
And what would you use to edit xorg.conf?
sed
Okay then what would you use to edit /bin/sed?

you are contrarian as fuck.
A true follower of RMS uses Emacs.
apt install vim
Emacs is harmful software™
You can edit networked files with vim as well.
Obviously, you can write emails in any text editor...
it would have taken less time to type 'sudo apt install aptitude vim' than it did for you to complain.
that sounds like a sure sign of lost brain plasticity due to old age
but other text editors arent lisp interpreters with built in shitposting mode
