Literally who cares? Just leave Defender on and use fucking Ublock Origin. Nothing will happen, you shitter. Also don't download trash.
>spot which companies sponsored the review
The best anti virus is one that doesn’t get known so viruses can’t hide from their predator.
My anti virus is better than that though.
V3 send "anonymous statics" to them and force a background service listening 24/7 and you can't fucking siable it and is not only for premium like some fucking retards say and it install a rootkit to protect you from rootkits
And of course v2 is getting no more updates in 2018

But it isnt 2005
The best AV is the one that best protects against 0-day exploits. It's easy to test AVs against a suite of well documented infections. Only other metric which is relevant is speed. Take these results with a grain of salt.
>The best AV is the one that best protects against 0-day exploits
And which one would this be
>internet security
That means it's going to proxy all my internet traffic through it and fuck up SSL connections, right?
Na.
Apparently cia had a hard time dealing with comodo.
>tfw haven't used windows or mac in a year
>"viruses"
woah, blast from the past
>Quihoo 360 (Avira+Bitdefender)
These guys can't be serious.
They are chinese
bitdefender employee here, we respect trendmicro and eset.
>The best AV is the one that best protects against 0-day exploits
how would that be possible?
Zero day's are completely unknown except by the person who uncovers it and potentially anyone they sell to or decide to tell about it.
Why don't you bitdefend the fuck outta here
newegg has avg pro for 10 freedombux and eset for 15 freedombux , which do i get ?
You can take 1 year trials for eset so paying for it is pretty retarded
That chart isn't in order.
so eset ? i don't mind paying 15 $
god knows, i'm using nod32+ublock+don't run random exes for 7 years and never had any virus or anything
i have malwarebytes pro but i think eset might be more full featured
malwarebytes is fucking addware now
>You have other ways to get fucked up outside opening dolphinporn.rar.avi.exe
Block ads, close ports, user exclusively standard account.
Congratulation, you're now protected against pretty much anything.
You literally learn in second year CS how to block debuggers with asm and how to change binaries footprints, AVs are placebo.
Windows defender and a working brain is more than good enough.
Seriously, I didn't get any malware in 12 years or so.
Okay, there might be another important software: Adblockers. Seriously. Most malware is downloaded from fake download buttons that are thrice as large as the actual hidden download link which is just an unstyled in the bottom right of the page or from popups that get triggered by user interactions (any click on the DocumentElement) and can thus not get blocked by the popup blockers.
why those two? I'm interested in your opinion in Eset and also why not Kaspersky?
pls respond
>Tfw your company fell for the McAfee meme
>Every FUCKING day that bullshit software starts, turn my work laptop's fan into a jet engine, cripples my IDE's performance to hell and makes the application I work on become at least 5x slower, making me question if one of my changes fucked performance up
And of course it never found anything. Why the fuck would it? I'm not retarded, holy shit. But being retarded is what you need to be to get a virus.

>Literally stopped a virus designed to cause a nuclear detonation
Clam AV
Hello sir can you prove your claim?
Oh? Fix your fucking archive scanning already then.
>BullGuard Internet Security
i need one for my wife
Any guides or further reading on this?
Even the free versions do this nowadays, it's usually a pain to disable it too
Are you talking about that open source AV that was updated like 9 months ago?
I'm sure it will protect you against everything
lol, the creator of AhnLab ran for presidency in South Korea apparently.
>Literal who AV
AhnLab has been around for fucking years you child.
Get the fuck off the internet, don't start a discussion about technology without even having a basic concept of the subject you wish to discuss.
Also if you study your own fucking graph, you'll notice Kaspersky scores just as high.
Fuck me.
>using antivirus
all who do this are braindeads
Kaspersky has some very impressive heuristics, see the shitstorm around them "stealing" NSA tools. It won't protect you from everything, but this is really impressive.
>AhnLab
Is that thing even free?
Kaspersky is awesome but pirating it is a burden and I'm sure the ruskies have some kind of tool to target pirated kav versions and add you to the naughty list
There’s a free kaspersky AV minus the internet security features.
