It won't. The biggest issue is the pump and dumps that happened during the free leech that lasted forever. I get a request a day for a re-seed.

I mean you can hope and dream... but the APL user base comes off as new to trackers, especially private trackers, general security, and anything that takes any technical ability.
See their whining about using bitcoin as an example of "how hard" it is to go to an exchange and buy fucking coins as an example of security and technical inability.

They beg for money every month and keep coming back with the "We can't keep financially supporting this website by ourselves" threat. I'd be surprised if it's still around 3 months from now. If staff knew what was right they'd just have a sitewide freeleech for a few days then shut the whole place down

Is it really worth uploading 320 and V0 when you upload a FLAC? Feels like a waste of time and storage space to me. A few people will download if the torrent is popular, but they should just stop being stupid and download the FLAC.

Levi Ramirez
Only on APL and WFM, which are both basically on their death beds. Although they do count as 3 uploads over 1, which is good, but I'm ripping hundreds of CD's so upload count isn't much more than a dick measuring contest to me.
I'm moving low demand (read: 0 leeches since upload) files over to a local seedbox setup to make more room for high demand content on my seedbox.
Brandon Harris
They're comfy, for the most part Staff are awesome Internals are regularly better than HDB internals Will hold your hand while you learn to encode Site development isn't super fast due to there only being 1 dev (many features get postponed) Movie selection is lacking They don't trump so you end up with a heap of shitty releases per torrent, Deadpool for example has AHD and HDB internals but still has all the shitty Chinese/scene/shit groups Buffer is noticeably harder than PTP Tv selection is pretty bad and they don't group it, which is annoying If you care about quality I'd say they're worth joining
Hudson Butler
Aint it for torrentmasters on PTP? Has it gone for torrentkings?(

how hard is it to survive on REDACTED without a seedbox
Carter Cruz
It's fine. Upload some shit-tier bandcamp electronic albums if you get real low. But the difficulty is really overblown by some people so long as you're not downloading 10 gigs of music a day
Brody Sanchez
Start off getting stuff you like, but not too much to keep your ratio in the safe zone then rip some cd's, wait for tokens, transcode some stuff people forgot to transcode and never stop seeding
Daniel Butler
>no AB Very.
Kayden Sanchez
but I have AB
Lincoln Kelly
BTN is currently the curry litmus. Sorry, bud.
Lincoln Cooper
generally, not too hard. and if you have access to a library and/or another music tracker, it's easy. there's a solid chance the staff will give out some more tokens around christmas/new years, so thi is a decent time to sign up. i would expect not to see a ton more tokens for a while after jan 1 though. general consensus is they've given out too many tokens lately and there aren't any major site events/holidays slated for the first half of 2018.
Levi Johnson
>BP helps with long term retention
it won't
BPs will make an already easy as fuck tracker even easier. Prepare for a shitstorm of re-seed requests.

How do I get into u2? I'm at least PU on most trackers, the good ones at least.
Dominic Kelly
PU isn't good enough
Leo Stewart
It's not bad, you can survive on tokens and spam bandcamp garbage for upload if you need to. Also if you have a decent seedbase you get steady upload. It's worth renting a seedbox for a month though because you can be /setforlife/ for under $10 without wasting hours uploading shit that no one wants anyway.
Brody Brown
All the users who got in thru open sign-up and were there for the extended freeleech, never have to seed anything ever again because they have huge buffers. Bonus points are only useful for the new users who are the seeding slaves for everyone else.
Jaxson Perez
come scusa

how do you get into any tracker at all without having to upload all that shit? it's wack
Hunter Cook
There's already a dozen or so members that got into PTP through RED/GGn with over 500 uploads Step your game up
Leo Young
The advent was exciting years ago because new users could get a nice boost of BPs/Upload and climb userclasses more quickly. But since the site's been mostly full for ages, there are few new users, so it's a bit meh.
Levi Torres
you're on more and better trackers than /ptg/ regulars. do yourself a favor and don't post here
Isaiah Russell
I still long for a gold star
Luke Morris
Honest question /ptg/ What should I grab?
1. FLAC or 24 bit FLAC? 2. WEB or VINYL or CD? 3. Original or REMASTERED? 4. V0 or 320 CBR?
Tyler Barnes
get the original and remastered and compare the mixes
Jose Robinson
It all depends i generally avoid CD because of the loudness war
Gavin Williams
If I get on an anime tracker, it it good for my reputation to release someone else's batch with the english audio track removed? I do it on my own downloads anyway to reduce the size, and since it's such a repetitive process, I feel like it would save others who also care more about filesize than english dub audio a lot of trouble.
Parker Jackson
FLAC / CD / Original generally, but a good bet is to just whatever has the most snatches Don't bother with remasters unless the original had a lot of issues, and Vinyl is almost never worth getting because for whatever reason, even the people who've spend thousands of dollars on equipment can't get the hiss and crackle out of the tracks. That being said there's a few albums that I prefer on vinyl simply because that was how I first heard them
Jose Watson
I don't think many people would be happy with you if you go around editing other peoples releases
Robert Long
That's a shame, I know I'd be happy if someone was doing that. I'd be very clear that I didn't make it.
Samuel James
Yeah, I definitely see where you're coming from and I somewhat agree - it's simply the act of editing someone else's release Perhaps you could get into encoding?
Nathan Butler
I just don't see any point when there's a perfectly good encode out there that can be trimmed down.
Aaron Parker
>How do I get into HDBits without selling my soul or uploading like 500 torrents (wtf how do people even manage this?)
It's not worth it in the end. As when you get into HDB, you are already on PTP, AHD, BTN which will make it useless. You epeen will get bigger, that's it.
Regardless: >Join HDB #help, tell them you know how to rip from AMAZON and NETFLIX >Become an encoder on trackers like AHD >Become staff on some tracker >Make friends who has invites, show them you are in need >Know any HDB staffer personally >Contribute heavily on trackers where niggas like NotTheGrinch can notice your work and eventually you will asked to join
This will get you in, choose anyone and work towards it. When you get in, be ready to say "not worth it" as that is usual reaction of new members. Don't get discouraged though, HDB alone is quite good but if you have other trackers similar in nature then it's not worth it.
