Alright Sup Forums. Everyone and his mother has been either complaining about this OS or wanting to disable half or most of its services, the most obvious ones being the suggestions, ads and Cortana.
However is there anyone here that is masochist enough to use every service provided by MS with W10? How's your experience with every service enabled, a MS account and such? Do you enjoy it? Do you feel like killing yourself? Do you actually make more use of it than you thought you would before you used it?
Carson Gonzalez
No
Charles Bell
Yeah I do. It's pretty comfy, but to actually get the most out of microsoft services you also need to live in the US due to a lot of regional nonsense. You know all those complaints about shit not working, like search not finding stuff? Non existent here. But then again you don't have to do much to avoid problems, just stop running random as fuck programs online that vow to "take back privacy" (lmao) I've even disabled things like the start menu suggestions and windows spotlight and the experience has still been smooth. You just have to be really selective in what you're disabling rather than going gorilla and trying to "avoid the botnet".
Oh and finally, the windows store is comfy.

Whenever I boot into windows, I feel like killing myself
Ian Carter
I have a system set up to test shit for the normie experience. It has EVERYTHING enabled.
> Do you feel like killing yourself? Not without taking out the fuckheads responsible for this travesty first.
Juan Jones
Everything? Including suggestions you madman?
Ryder Ramirez
I have tried the default setup minus ms account. It's pretty horrible honestly.
Cortana search is objectively bad compared to previous generations of windows and the benefits you get from web search are soiled by bing and giving up your privacy The start menu application list is objectively worse (flat list instead of a folder structure) A lot of the UWP apps are basically just neutered versions of their non UWP counterparts. The default experience includes heavy onedrive integration, whether you use it or not. Additionally there are constant "suggestions" which are mostly thinly guised attempts to get me to switch to m$ products. The "automatic maintenance" feature does a great job of automatically maintaining 35% CPU and 100% disk usage. So does windows module loader, an update service which falls back to svchost and continues to chat with MS anyway even after you stop and disable it.
0/10 would not recommend
>Do you feel like killing yourself very nearly
Parker Jones
>is there anyone here that is masochist enough to use every service provided by MS with W10? >yeah >I've disabled things I don't think you understood the question.
Kayden Hall
I said yeah, on top of also using a configuration where things are disabled. It's not like you have to live your entire life with only one config.
Cameron Foster
Yes, I use it with nothing disabled. Absolutely everything that is enabled by default is enabled on my computer. The thought of disabling anything has never even once crossed my mind, because I only boot into Windows occasionally for a single piece of software or some games that I can't run anywhere else.
My opinion? It's trash. When I use that single piece of software or play those games, the fact that I'm doing it on Windows detracts from the experience. It just gets in your way, in a way that you don't even realize if you never used anything but Windows.
Caleb Wood
alright, then it was me that misunderstood you. Sorry! -Greg
Isaac Sanders
Yes. Suggestions. When I said EVERYTHING I mean even the fucking Bing Bar. We even discussed putting Bozio Buddy and weatherbug on and concluded the result would lead to homicide.
Elijah Gray
Its fine when it works but when the update cycle comes in it becomes shit. I installed shut up 10 and forced updates off, I force shut down anything I see in task manager that looks like windows internet leeching. Right now I see a lot of bandwidth being drained and I have no fucking clue where its coming from unless I investigate router data but I can assume I am on the microsoft pajeet supercomputer watch list for trying to force shut down all their telemtry and bandwidth draining. Its absolute shit cause Im on 1mbps internet. Im thinking of backing up all my data and nuking the computer OS at this point. Windows 10 killed my interest in online PC gaming now, probably just gonna set up an offline windows 7 and use GOG from here on out for any pc games and console game the rest.
I want Poo in loos to forever leave IT and anything with computers at this point.
Levi Brown
>disable half or most of its services >he lists three (3) kids today, smdh
Julian Rogers
Hm so shutup10 doesn't block everything? I got wireshark installed but I've no idea how to identify telemetry being sent other than checking every ip whois. Do you have ltsb installed or is it w10 pro? Try ltsb.
Jeremiah Morgan
I've observed settings in shutup10 will continually be re-enabled without consent, why the program doesn't simply become a service or get a task to run 24/7 is beyond me. It won't help much but at least those fucking settings will be what they are set to for once.
Dominic Flores
windows 10 (all versions ) will happilly ignore the hosts file to phone home. You can block most of it, but not all without and external firewall.
Sebastian Martinez
Dunno if it does that, although I blocked a few addresses not too long ago to test and it wouldn't be able to check for updates.
Mason Edwards
It doesnt reset for me, try w10privacy as well.
Yeah and they will fake stuff like pretending to be skype if you look in wireshark even though you dont have skype installed.
Ayden Ward
Do you mean something like Comodo Firewall, or Peerblock?
Jaxson Stewart
Nope, wpd.
James Cook
I use mainly Microsoft software and services for work on the machines that they've provided, as I'm not allowed to use my own. It makes me want to remove a single 12 gauge shell from the packaging, insert it into my shotgun, chamber it, put the barrel in my mouth, and then paint the walls with my brain matter. I would rather do spreadsheets on a C64 in a 95 degree 8x8 room while a single Lady Gaga song plays on repeat on full volume than use Winshit 10 on a daily basis. Several times a day I have to remind myself that I get paid a decent salary for this and that the nightmare is over at 4 and I can go home and eat tendies.
OH NO SOMETHING FUCKING HAPPENED FOR THE THIRD TIME TODAY HERE IS A FROWNY FACE INSTEAD OF AN OBSCURE ERROR CODE BECAUSE IT'S SOMEHOW BETTER :(
DON'T TURN OFF UR PEECEE
Levi Moore
if you must use windows, just use LTSB.
Mason Smith
Got it now. Thanks.
Alexander Howard
I have ocd on wanting to use the latest versions of everything. The win10 home that came with my laptop was alright as I didnt bother tweaking anything and the specs were good, so no issues back then, but then I tried running win10 on an old machine and it was horrible, the whole UI is heavily hard drive dependent so unless you use a recent hdd or an ssd the whole interface will.be lagging all the time, then come the updates, on a decent pc you dont notice that crap cause it uses some of your cpu and disk but not all of it, but on old machines you notice the spike of lag and unusability once it starts installing and downloading updates making you cpu and disk go up to 100% one at a time. i tried ltsb meme and stuck to it, it's great on my daily driver but on older shit you're better off with win7 and linux if it has drivers for that

God MS is disgusting
It's spyware at this point. This is like ad popups that look like system popups tier now. Even some adware legitimately turns off if you ask it to. So lets get this straight
Windows 10 >turns shit on again even if you turn it off >ignores file settings and contacts MS regardless >tries to fool you into thinking its skype in wireshark >has ads in the start menu >annoys you with popups
Windows 10, is no exagguration, literal spyware.
Jason Morris
I use riced W10. Full Screen Start is good. Takes two seconds to disable ads.
Leo Brooks
If you utilized "spyware" systems like a spell checker, your comment would have been much better. How unfortunate.
A retard like you gets paid? Damn, I guess capitalism truly does work miracles.
Mason Jones
good afternoon pajeet
Justin Reed
>system dedicated to normie shit
can't even into VMs, fuck is wrong with you?
Jaxson Lewis
this desu
Christopher Collins
>use Windows 10 >right click file >explorer.exe crashes
This happens every single time
John Moore
What does rice/ed mean in these circles?
Elijah Ramirez
Why are updates so fucking slow? I had to wait through over an hour of updates last night. I just wanted to go to sleep.
Michael Howard
why don't you just make an OS whereby, people have a choice? They can just simply switch all this spyware and assorted useless shite 'features' off. And, they stay off. Revolutionary concept and all, I know.
Alexander Bailey
No fucking clue but I noticed it too. I really wish there would be an overall loading bar at least. I hated when I used Windows I would sometimes go to bed at night and then 10 more minutes of "installing updates" even on an SSD.
I need to turn the whole thing off at the wall too, because the lights make it hard to sleep
Samuel Myers
Because microsoft assumes your all idiots and doesnt trust the users to make the right choices
