if you say anything about hd600 or hd650 below this comment your mother will die in her sleep tonight

what is the second best headphone behind the ma900?

what is this tumblr tier shit?

bye mum

I cant bring myself to trust plastic headbands, even on 100$+ cans

I wanna lick her feet and install Gentoo with her.

Does anyone of my fine Sup Forumsentlemen have any experience with the bluetooth line of edifier phones? Specially the W800BT and the W830BT ones? If you do, how's the battery endurance and response curve?

ATH-A990Z a good upgrade from the original A900? I considered the A1000Z but don't want to lose the swivel cups and braided cable.

So ugh I got some money saved from bday and holidays to upgrade my sound peripherals should I get studio monitors like jbl lsr305 + interface or open back headphones like akg 712 pro + amp like which would sound better for movies, games and music? Im not pro and dont work with audio just for listening pleasure in the 300-400 price range do headphones or speakers sound better?
is the jbls how hard are they to set up like is there some guide? idk if i got that much space

>jbl lsr305

Those jbl's are supposed to be good but I don't know. The 712's are a great choice for overall entertainment. The 600's are better for music, But the 712's are better for gaming and films, but they're great for music too.

Speakers are better than headphones and K712 are not good headphones.

LSR305.

The 712's are good headphones. Why has this become a thing lately? is there now one autist who hates the 712's for some reason?. They're not the best, but they're good. Stop being silly.

>They're not the best
If the LSR305 are better than any headphone ever made and the K712 aren't the best then the choice is obvious, no?

Get the JBL LSR30X, they're $180/pair right now, which is a pretty insane deal. Use the rest on a HD579/HD58X/HD6XX/HE4XX.

>If the LSR305 are better than any headphone ever made

Who said that? I didn't.

Just stating the facts, I'm not the one who said the K712 are bad but as far as the purchase decision goes it's very obvious.

HD6XX >>>>> HD58X > HE4XX >>>>>>>>>> HD579

I already said that those speakers are supposed to be good, and that I don't actually know. I'm just saying that the 712's are a very good headphone for all around entertainment.

ma898

Headphones are cool

but whats the point? i will use one or the other not both

It's worth having both because they present sound differently. Plus, you need headphones unless your neighbors don't care about speakers blasting at night.

really sucks to get BTFO on the daily doesn't it?

Im looking for some headphones between the 100$-200$ range, I want them to be durable, and to be usable without any amp on my phone.
As for sound signature, a neutral sound signature or one with a little bass is alright, since I'm listening to mostly electronic.
It care if it is open, closed or semi-open.

A non propietary detachable cable would be a nice bonus

>Budget
$100 USD (not including shipping) or so, can go a bit above if really worth it
>Location
Australia, will be buying online
>Source
Back of PC 3.5mm jack
>Type of headphone
Over ears
>Open or closed
Either, don't want to let in TOO much background noise though, I have planes going overhead constantly
>Comfort level
High as possible
>Sound signature
Don't give a shit as long as they good for gaming and can do directional sounds aight
>Past headphones
Sennheiser HD 280 Pro

Plus if sweat resistant as hot environment

Currently thinking about getting HD 579s, as they seem fairly cheap but pretty good quality. Going to be used basically exclusively for watching porn when people are around and playing PUBG. Will read and respond to every reply when I wake up. Would like a lot of replies as really want to consider options I have, but so far, from what I can tell from reading some reviews and last /hpg/ thread, these seem best value for this price range. Also, I do not have an amp or plan on buying one in the near future at all as I'm not going to be really listening to music or watching movies with these.

Thanks ya'll

>Going to be used basically exclusively for watching porn when people are around
HD579s are open, would not recommend.

otherwise theyre really good for the price

I'm close enough to other people that I have to worry about my speakers being too loud, but I think I should be alright with open headphones

that headband looks really flimsy

so the hd579 has the weird 3.5mm cable with the locking mechanism. are there short replacements? or would a normal 3.5mm cable also work?

I also read on reddit that the 558 are basically the same as the 579. Is this true? I generally do not trust reddit but not as many resources for headphone information as I would like.

The 558 have a better frequency response, 579 are V-shaped, meaning they have more inflated, muddier midbass and more painful treble.

A normal 3.5mm cable won't work, as the other end is 2.5mm and has that locking mechanism.

How short do you need it?
- 1.2 meters, with mic and volume buttons
amazon.com/NEOMUSICIA-Replacement-Sennheiser-Headphone-compatible/dp/B01N9JIO6N
. 1.2m / 1.5m / 2.5m / 3m, no inline controls
amazon.com/dp/B00KAKGQCQ/

get speakers and if you get headphones definitely don't get k712 they suck

are u one of those hd 6** shills

What are the second best headphones behind the HD600?

get a trip so everyone can filter you

god damn it sennheiser. i was looking for one like 1ft long cause im planning to velcro my fiio btr1 on the headband to make it wireless.

Not much left to say at this point. HD600 owners here have been supremely booty bothered this year. Especially when you can buy an HD6XX for $86 less than an HD600, and it comes with matched drivers. The HD600 does not. EQ the mid-bass on an HD6XX and you have an objectively superior neutral headphone with better sub-bass extension and less shouty mid-range.

With the HD600 you pay more for what? Less.

>budget: US$ 60 (~200BRL)
yes, third world slave

I want a headphone with a powerfull bass and with preferably wireless and/or with a removable cable.

I have only bought shitty headphones in the past and the cable always got fucked up.

Probably it is due to the fact that they were shitty, but I got myself somewhat traumatized.

Any recommendations?

Or while he's not figuring out how to do that, why not report his non-contributing shitposting?

HD600 > HD650

HD598

Idol trash here. What's your setup like, user?
(mdr-7506 not recommended)

HD559>HD579>HD569>HD558

hd558 have little bass and absolutely no treble. This is compared to hd579 and hd600.
hd579 are just a little vshaped when compared hd600, but still neutral aplenty.
>at $99
It's a steal. If I didn't have hd600 already, I'd order hd579 without thinking about it twice.

>hd558 have little bass and absolutely no treble. This is compared to hd579 and hd600.
blatantly false.

difference between studio and hifi headphones?
talking about thomann.de it has 2 categories

Drunk 600 weekend user here. One of your recent posts said that you were visiting family in Barcelona. Are you actually Spanish then? It's very easy to assume that most random anons are american, even though I am not.

reference-audio-analyzer.pro/en/param6.php?ls=1&bar=0&barn=7&frhz=1000&min=20&max=20000&hmin1=60&hmax1=150&hmin2=-12&hmax2=12&idhp=889&idhp1=572&idhp2=819&filter=Apply
The HD558 are objectively flawed. The problem is that mountain between 1kHz and 5kHz. It makes that area too forward, and the rest of the treble seem absent. Subjective reviews do confirm this.
In contrast, HD579 shape follows that of HD600 closely, except for being slightly v-shaped. This isn't much, however, once you notice how zoomed in the dB scale is.

HD579 are the worst of this bunch, upper mids sucked out, bright hot treble, bloated as fuck midbass that will be mud central.

Catalan, although also Spanish, regardless of how the independence thing goes (as long as I'm not made to choose either, and that's unlikely).

The heights are different, but notice how close it follows hd600 behaviour in the bass/lowmid area.

yeah you know how to get that same, shitty midbass in any other senn? just get a source with high output impedance.

You're not fully wrong, but there's a difference in scale. We're talking 3-4dB at 100Hz against 50Hz in the HD579, compared to 8+ with other hd500 when they use a non-adequate high impedance source.

I'm in need of people that know about hardware. DAC, amps, headphones etc... Plz join ;-;

Messi or ronaldo.

I've got the next prices from the possible headphones I could get.
>Shure SRH440: 82$ (SRH480 pads included)
>Sennheiser HD559: 140$
>Sennheiser HD579: 166$
>Sennheiser HD569: 176$
>M-Audio HDH50: 180$
>AKG K612-Pro: 150$
Which one should I get? Preferably to achive the best fidelity

Why do people on these threads always obsess over the FR as if it's the only measurement that matters instead of the easiest to fix

because there are no good measurements for other characteristics of headphones

they want to think they got the good headphones and didn't make a bad choice

I don't care for fĂștbol unfortunately.

Prices where?
HD579 is on sale at $99
amazon.com/Sennheiser-HD-579-Open-Headphone/dp/B01L1IIF1K/

anyone buy headphones for their family+friends xmas gifts?
got these, did i fuck up?

Yes but sometimes the differences are obvious, the hd650 for example is clearly better than the hd600 at everything other than neutrality, and neutrality can be eq'd so why would anyone keep recommending the hd600

>amazon.com/Sennheiser-HD-579-Open-Headphone/dp/B01L1IIF1K/
Holy shit nvm then

i gave my brother my old g930s

Because a lot of people don't want to use EQ.

These should work just fine

amazon.com/Audio-Technica-ATH-MSR7BK-SonicPro-High-Resolution-Headphones/dp/B00PEU9CFA

It doesn't ship to my country anyways :/

Well that's unfortunate. Do you have a friend that can resend them to you?

I really don't like Sennheisers, their sound signature is super dull.

I'd go with the Shure SRH440s

Fair enough. I still love you.

HD579 are by far the best headphones under $200.

they're trash

I agree with the second user HD579s are trash

Especially if the user requesting headphones wants to use them with their phone,
HD579s would be bulky as hell for mobile use

I really don't think I need these but should I replace my SHP9500 with them?

youtube.com/watch?v=DwlRGIFa2T8

naicu

Shure SRH940 any good?

Agreed.

Sidegrade. Wait until you can afford HD600.

Oops ur mom died

How are you liking your SHP9500s user?

I was thinking of upgrading to them from stock phone earbuds

I love them but I hate the gunk that builds up underneath the pads and the inability to take them off.

Had em a year, they handled a few drops and a tea spill just fine.

regretably, no
doesn't it suffer from fidelity issues compared to the sennheisers? Right now I have an HD 202 and while it isnt boomtastic, its pretty nice, specially at long listening sessions.

That was fun, but depressing. Not to be Sup Forums but It reminds me of how Japan loves being Japanese. But England isn't allowed to be English anymore, and we're punished for being so. Nice video either way.

>doesn't it suffer from fidelity issues compared to the sennheisers?
Yes. Plebs often describe high-fidelity sound as "dull" because it doesn't have boom boom bass and exaggeratedly "crisp and clear" treble at the expense of midrange and vocal clarity.

Yeah, that's sad to think about.
How much they care about their identity, culture and traditions (and not just those of the Tokyo area) is one reason I do find Japan so appealing.

you realize you can have all three right? isolation solves the top end and subbass over midbass solves the bottom end

what do i upgrade my m40xs to
something closed too ill sell these
i had my fun just as a hobby i wanna try something else
MSR7 any good?

>closed headphones
