When was the last time you got malware/virus?

When was the last time you got malware/virus?

youtu.be/j31ZFfQFstc

For me around 2004, then went full Linux for 10 years because I was a poorfag and Linux ran well on my system. Then went MacOS briefly then switched to W10 last year

Only using Windows Defender and no issues

Few weeks ago when I bought a drawing tablet from AliExpress. I downloaded the software from the manufacturers website. Start noticing my PC is running slower next time I booted the PC up. Apparently it was a fucking virus. Don't ever download shit from xp-pen's website. Literally my 1st time with a virus I got that was not from downloading games off of sketchy websites

Wow that's fucked up, I was gonna buy an xPen but got Artisul instead, what software was it? Or was it their drivers?

It was the drivers from their website. The tablet works just fine tho.

Can't say I've ever had one on any of my computers or devices.
Unless you consider flash or java malware I suppose.

I'm guessing you're under 20 or you've never pirated before?

No, I'm just not a fucking idiot about it and use a little bit of common sense instead of blindly clicking everything big and flashy.

Consider the alternative: you are too much of an idiot to realize you have a virus or to recognize more subtle attack vectors.

I wasn't insulting you bro, just genuinely surprised. I made a lot of stupid mistakes when I was young and learned from it

Linux is a kernel, it's found in operating systems such as GNU/Linux and Android.

24, no virus' for about 9 years now, though i have learnt to deal with some nasty ones on the PCs of friends/family, they're really not that hard to avoid.

Debian

>then switched to W10 last year

Congrats on your windowsware

The last windows I used was XP, I never experienced 7 and I like it

I got some nasty adware that hijacked my homepage like 3 years ago, turned out to be Acestream injecting the adware every time i used it to watch some sports stream.
With ublock+umatrix+firefox it's pretty hard to catch any drive-by shit nowadays, gotta download and install whatever delivers the payload yourself.

You have to be a special kind of retarded if you are older than like 14 and get yourself infected with something.
I'd assume pretty much everyone that visits these boards with any semblance of regularity has enough common sense not to have to worry about it.
Personally I don't even run any kind of anti-virus, it's just a resource hog with zero point to it.

sauce on manga?

Well duh, all my bad malware experience was when I was under 14. and XP

Shoujo Nemu

thanks user

Back in the XP days, when I was like 10 and installed some adware theme shit. Don't think I ever actually got malware that deleted files or stole information from me though.

Haven't even used antivirus software for ages now, I just run everything in a sandbox or check Virustotal first, and I regularly pirate software or games.

A year or so ago, maybe bit more.

It was a shitty clickjacker. Redirecting my clicks to adlinks.
