They're doing the right thing. Otherwise phone technology would never progress if everyone refused to get new phones. Stupid pajeet andropoors cant afford iphones. Go back to XDA pls.
Apologize.
SO they're still going to throttle phones? No option to disable that on your own? But this time theyll actually tell you of said throttling?
I can't believe they even responded to this retarded shit.
What's next car manufacturers getting sued because some retard in a 1997 Chevy Tahoe isn't getting 15mpg anymore?
>Apple is reducing the price of an out-of-warranty iPhone battery replacement by $50 — from $79 to $29 — for anyone with an iPhone 6 or later whose battery needs to be replaced, starting in late January and available worldwide through December 2018. Details will be provided soon on apple.com.
>Early in 2018, we will issue an iOS software update with new features that give users more visibility into the health of their iPhone’s battery, so they can see for themselves if its condition is affecting performance.
>As always, our team is working on ways to make the user experience even better, including improving how we manage performance and avoid unexpected shutdowns as batteries age.
Droidjeets literally SEETHING at superior customer service lmao
>They're doing the right thing. Otherwise phone technology would never progress if everyone refused to get new phones. Stupid pajeet andropoors cant afford iphones. Go back to XDA pls.
pls sir i am trying to install your rom but is stuck
i am learning how to program here in hyderabad pls sir i need this for good marks sir
>a temporary price reduction on getting your phone battery replaced by apple
lel thanks apple, also I love the fact that this press release completely fails to address the constant "feature" creep from one IOS version to the next which causes significantly worse performance if you want to keep your phone updated.
>superior customer service
>literally need to be sued into providing such service
>tl;dr it’s actually the battery’s fault not ours
Huh with that.
iTODDLERS ON SUICIDE WATCH
>solutions put in place

Yes we sure got BTFO this time xdajeet

Sweet, so now I can rejuvenate my iPhone 6, which I don't plan on leaving for a while, for just $29. Thanks, Apple :^)
>t.
objectively it's a well designed system, to increase it's lifespan by slowing it down so it doesn't suffer any power spikes.
and that's a very generous of them to acknowledge, that though it is well designed, they didn't inform their consumer about it, which left them in the dark.
apple is decent. if only their products weren't overpriced to hell and back.
Yes, and this is fine.
The only real problem was that the user wasn't told, so when they noticed the performance issue buying a new phone was the solution presented instead of battery replacement.
>$30 for a new battery
This is ridiculously reasonable
Why are you posting selfies faggot?
>APPLEL WAS A MISTAKE
meanwhile in reality, apple continues to innovate and is the biggest company in the world. and you are a neckbeard
>APPLEL WAS A MISTAKE
Jealous that Apple are doing something with older phones rather than just leaving them to die?
>Droidjeets literally SEETHING
>$80 for a $5 battery
>$30 for a $5 battery after being sued
nah, I'm good. I can just replace the batteries in my phone at a whim, they are all removable.
>battery replacement from Apple themselves, out of warranty
>$29
NOICE
No one cares about your non-flagship non-waterproof poorfag phone.
You replace your batteries with $5 ones? enjoy your charred house, retard. Never cheap out on batteries you stupid fuck.
It’s all they can afford.
This. Apple products are nice but they're far too expensive and cuck you into their ecosystem.
>APPLEL WAS A MISTAKE
>the largest, most profitable company in the world was a mistake
I paid $100 for my 32GB SE off Faceberg.
>We’re proud that Apple products are known for their durability, and for holding their value longer than our competitors’ devices.
They're premium electronics, expensive to develop and expensive to maintain. No other tech company made and maintains its own operating system.
>Samsung: slap Android and a skin on it, no work
>Dell: slap Windows 10 on it, couple drivers, no work
Yet both are offering products priced similarly to Apple's. Why is this? Why does hardly anyone acknowledge that Apple's software and also importantly, services divisions don't work for free?
Dell is charging you basically the same as a Mac when they haven't even made half what the whole package is supposed to be. Yet you think Apple is overpriced. Hardly anyone understands this because most people are cretins, especially here on Sup Forums. Also Apple has a shitload of real, physical stores with very expensive rent. Samsung and Dell don't do that. Yet you still think Apple is overpriced. they earn a lot but they also spend a lot on their products, its just at a higher scale.
Apple is one of the very few companies that actually use and love the things they make, as opposed to making some random shit to fill a price point to sell to other people. Tim Cuck runs his empire from an iPad and occasionally an iMac, all Apple executives use Apple stuff exclusively. Can't say the same about Google, Microsoft or any other company.
>this is what apple fags actually believe
I replace my batteries with high quality replacements. Apple is the one cheaping out and giving you a $5 battery for $30-$80.
technology.ihs.com
But I'm just a poorfag right, what do I know.
former is questionable, since it depends on the user. glass is more fragile, but they absolutely are durable phones if you aren't a clumsy shit.
the latter is unquestionably true. Normies prefer iphones, so they sell for higher on the secondhand market.
iTODDLERS BTFO
If I'm gonna drop $1,000+ on a laptop it might as well be a macbook. But I dont need a $1,000+ laptop for personal use. (I do for work but I dont pay for that). I have a $200 laptop.
appletoddler damage control is so fucking funny. Keep it up cucks.
It is, and it will also be at a loss for them.
That's how seriously they are damage controlling this.
>If I'm gonna drop $1,000+ on a laptop it might as well be a $200 piece of shit with an $800 logo
Really made me think.
>push software update that is so bad it prompts a fucking lawsuit
>such innovation!
>>Samsung: slap Android and a skin on it, no work
Samsung does a lot of work on Android, they have a bunch of their own APIs and SDKs for their own devices.
developer.samsung.com
Sure, they didn't develop Android from scratch, but that doesn't make your assertion correct either.
>and it will be at a loss for them
Oh sweetie...
It takes me less time and effort to change an old battery on a '97 Chevy than it does to replace one on an iToy, and costs nearly the same.
That's what I'm saying. An device with a new battery might as well be brand new sans chips at the corners and edges.
It will be.
A lot of places don't have the facilities to replace the batteries, so there will be shipping costs they will have to cover with that $25 as well as the labor and parts costs.
There's probably going to be an influx of battery replacement requests coming in which will mean more procurement orders and those costs as well.
I could replace your battery for $25 and make money off it. Apple can't worldwide. They will definitely lose money.
but iOS and OS X are shit sempai
stay btfo
hey i have an iphone 6 and the battery is starting to fade AFTER 3 YEARS OF 24/7 USE
and apple is going to give me a cheap battery replacement ! fuck yeah
WTF I LOVE APPLE NOW
How will droidfags ever recover?
Larger battery but somehow a similar price?
How cheap lmao
>First and foremost, we have never — and would never — do anything to intentionally shorten the life of any Apple product, or degrade the user experience to drive customer upgrades
>ipod touch 2nd gen cant upgrade to the latest ios, and as a result ios 4 apps drop like flies
JUST LIE AFTER LIE
>oneplus 5t battery cost
>$3.58
Android poosers BTFO
>android gets based high quality samsung batteries

> not free because you lied by omission
Guess I'm back to flip phones. Fuck Apple, fuck Android trash. Why can't anyone make a decent phone anymore?
The maximum damage control by iToddlers in this thread is absolutely delectable.
iPhones have been and always will be fucking trash bought by nu-males and fags.
No they're not.
t. Someone who's used everything
>t. iToddler
Fucking this. After iOS 4 on iPhone 3G I dropped Apple shit. After using two Android phones (neutered AT&T Galaxy S II and HTC One M7) I bought another iPhone because they improved a lot. Now this piece of shit is so slow it's almost unusable and it still shuts down randomly.
Seems like a good compromise from a tech point of view. Would you rather have people complaining that their phone dies unexpectedly once it gets old, saying it's an Apple conspiracy to make them buy a new phone, or would you rather have fewer people complaining about their phone getting slightly slower over time, saying it's an Apple conspiracy to make you buy a new phone? It's a no-win situation for them, and they picked the one where the phone stays functional for the user. Duh.
Don't try too hard, you might hurt yourself.
However, a battery change isn't going to increase your MPG on your fucking Chevy.
I see what Apple was trying to do with the software. I can see the intention was a decent one, and would permit people to continue to use the phones they currently have for longer periods of time, albeit with a hit to performance here and there. It actually makes sense to a degree, and I don't fault them for trying.
I do fault them for not mentioning anything about it in any kind of patch notes or any kind of press release. They could have even used their Apple magic words in their notes about a "revolutionary code base" that allows users to prolong the lifespans of their phones with "minimal performance impact", or some shit like that.
The fact they didn't mention anything about it, and took quite a while to get around to confirming such things is frustrating.
I'd say that Apple was "forcing" people to purchase a new generation phone, but I have experienced that this simply couldn't be further from the truth. Fact of the matter is, my dad has a 5S which he managed to pick up right as they were discontinuing their supply of them. The fact his phone was running circles around my 6 Plus makes me wonder how anyone truly believed that this was a genuinely viable solution to the "we're not selling enough iPhones" problem when older, cheaper versions of their phones were running faster than the newer versions.
Sure, people at the Apple Stores might have said "buy a new one", but that just sounds like the status quo for damn near any retail store.
If Apple really wanted you to purchase their latest and greatest, they'd stop supporting their older devices as soon as possible, something that Android based phones tend to do in droves (sometimes those phones never get a single update). I mean, their latest update still supports the 5S, a phone that was released in 2013. If you ask me, that's a pretty damn good run for a phone.
I bet you've been sitting around waiting for a reply to what you thought was a great post. Here's a (you) for you, user. You're still a huge faggot, though.
>the latter is unquestionably true. Normies prefer iphones, so they sell for higher on the secondhand market.
Just because you don't like it doesn't mean it's questionable. Idiot.
Chevy isn't intentionally slowing down it's older vehicles via software upgrades, you actual faggot.
>24/7 USE
I don't think you know what that means.
no literaly i use it as a PMP outdoors and the screen brightness is set to max and screen lock is disabled... my phone is always lit up and i have absolutely hammered my battery .... if i have the screen on and playing loud music and using the cellular radio and doing something computationaly complex the battey will crap out and shut off at about 50% ...
i love my JB iphone 6 and have worn out the battery. I can wait to get a premium battery replacement for cheap, i have been chinked on spare batteries so many times, fucking chinks
But neither is GM taking gears out of it after a couple of years.
>your shitty random opinion vs clear business success
I'd hate to be (You).
sweet a new battery for $30 my phone will probably last a decade while droidlets have to get a new phone every year because support drops and most of them are still on android version from 5 years ago lol sucks 2 suck
android continually btfo no oreo no headphone jack.. forever chasing apples shadows
Sweet. I'm going to go get a fresh OEM battery put in my 6s for $30.
[citation needed]
At least it doesn't have 16 cores, 32 GB of RAM and still lags.
HIGH FIVE 6 bros... JB, JACK and a new Battery... Truly the patrician phone
Why do you keep replying to yourself iCuck?
FAKE NEWS POST

>unquestionably true
Maybe try reading.
Reddit is on full damage control.
They are pushing that Apple only started doing this back when the new power management system was announced.
They're hiding the fact that Apple has been doing this for years.
>You are slowly down your old phones
>But it is for your own benefit, we swear!
iSlaves will still defend their master.

any relevant smartphone is water-resistant nowadays, and only a few androids do not have removable backs.

I wish Ford would start cutting people's brake lines to make them buy new cars so automotive tech progresses
Funny how ifags shitposted waterproofing was just a gimmick, but after the iPhone 7 came out it's literally a much have.
Rebbit? You mean that place you came from 2 years ago and now pretend to be too h4rdc0re for? Almost-originalfag. Neck yourself, retard. Why do people do this? If you have nothing to say it serves you better to pretend you left the thread instead of admitting you're empty in the head.
Also you can tell me how much of an expert you are in tech if you wish. Give me your BTC address and I'll send you some juicy coins so you can afford Apple stuff.
I'll be OK if new phones were like new game console thing - once in a decade or so.
Literally nothing of value were introduced after iphone4
Watching the noose [sic] right now and they're saying this too. It's probably Apple's official line but we know better.
Sorry for shitty poc.
They haven't worked yet as they're still making you pay for the repair.
...
The solution feels even more like planned obsolescence. The phone will straight up tell you when the battery is degraded and recommend you buy a new phone.
Even if it is true, it can be seen as a negative from the perspective of a second hand buyer looking for a good deal. You'll get cheaper prices on an android than an iphone.
