I recently bought a PS4 1TB slim, and I can't get the thing to connect to the internet, I've been at it 8 hours now and I've tried just about everything, anyone else have this issue and if so were you able to resolve it?
I haven't been able to connect to the internet on it more than once, and that was only when I had an IP conflict with my PC earlier, and after replicating that I was not to get on the internet a second time, I've tried factory resetting, manually entering the information, letting the machine do it for me seems to be useless.
i can't seem to get DNS working properly at all on it and I keep getting NW-31205-1, and CE-33986-9, CE-33984-7, error codes.

Please tell me you're not in any STEM major?
No, I'm currently in tradeschool, friend.
you have to install the network drivers you fucking retard.
Oh, thank you a lot, friend, I'll go do that now.
What kind of router do you have?
Have you considered upgrading to a PS4 Pro? Not only will it improve your framerates but it has a better firmware which should resolve your issue.
Your routers security might be incompatible, change it
I have a TP-link switch/dumb router, and an, Arris modem my ISP gave me.
Have you tried plugging it directly into the modem?
I'm not sure that's the issue as my router only acts as a coupling, but I'll check it out, thank you friend.
I have actually, with no luck.
you've gone through all this time to post a thread and do all your tinkering bullshit and havent even thought to plug it into the fucking modem?
get on your shitty console, and then never come back
>havent even thought to plug it into the fucking modem?
>I have actually, with no luck.
I think you may have misread that my friend.
Listen here autismo, he said that he DID try to plug it into the modem, you illiterate sperg.
Just use your router dns or google botnet dns. You are absolutely sure its a DNS related issue?
It's the only thing I can think off, I actually already tried the 8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4. google dns and that didn't seem to work either.
Thank yuo for the advice my friend.
this is a situation where you call geek squad.
fuck off
Log in to the router and check if has been assigned an IP address. If it hasnt, try assignung it manually on your ps4
does it even have an IP?
You on dsl?
I'll try that out, thank you friend.
I'm not completely sure it does the default gateway and IP seem to be one and the same on it.
Yes.
Do you happen to run a VPN? It seems based from your screenshot that you are connected to a really large network.
>alcohol memes
I completely forgot I even had one installed, I'm uninstalling it now, is that what could have caused my addresses to become one and the same?
Try restarting everything and do it automatically no manual settings. My guess bet is your router is in Ppoe mode and not gateway
this isn't going to tell us anything about the ps4. log into the router.
If you are unable to log into the router, but disconnect from the VPN and show ipconfig /all to us, we might be able to help
I'll give it a go, friend.
I'm sorry friend.
I just uninstalled the tunneling software, friend.
that ip doesn't look local. is your router set to bridged mode? if so, you want it to be natted. (the router, not the DSL modem).
I'm unable to do so, for whatever reason anytime I try to visit the router's GUI, it times me out, I've tried this on several different browsers but it does the same thing, friend.
I've gone to 24.154.1.37

try https://
that is your issue however. try to turn off your pc and then try to connect on the ps4 and i bet it works.
try to factory reset the router.
What's the make and model of the router?
do you live near grant st and sixth avenue?
Dude the tp-link TL-SG108 is a switch NOT a router at all. This isn't going to work as you need a device that can assign local ips.
I just turned off my PC, turned on my PS4, and tryied to connect, with no luck
tp-link TL-SG108
Oh, that would explain quite a lot, thank you for saying that, sorry friend i'm really retarded
no, sorry friendo
A switch will just allow devices on a network to communicate with each other. You still need something to assign ips to your network and your modem will not do this. Your isp is only going to let you have one or two ips, normally you'd have a router take this "external" ip and then it connects to all your home devices and routes traffic to the intended destination(which is why it's named as such). To accomplish this, blocks of ips are reserved for home networks. If you had a router, devices on your network will usually have ips in the 192.168.x.x range.
So it goes
internet->modem -> router -> switch/wifi -> devices.
Right now you're cutting out the router and your ps4 is looking for an ip from your modem.
The other thing is that the routers act as a basic firewall. The way you have it now. Your device(s) are totally exposed. You should fix this IMMEDIATELY. go to Walmart right now and buy a router.
Oh, thanks for the info, I'll get right on that friend.
Np good luck
Have you tried setting up an automatic connection? Without manually putting in up and dns? Also try changing your router to ipv4, ipv6 or ppov, try all three also try changing router level, change it to 11.
