Chair thread

i know this thread gets posted almost daily, but every time it‘s just full of gayming racer chairs, shit advice on using bucket seats and amerifats bragging about how cheap they can get an aeron chair on ebay

so what should I buy as a poorfag student in yurop? been looking for years and still use some shitty old chair that makes my back hurt

You just posted it

Make sure it's the leather one

b-but I‘m a manlet (5‘9“)

Armrests rests are a meme and are basically only for fat cat execs who just answer phone calls all day and don't actually need to use their desk.

Same height. It's fine for me

I'm 174cm(5ft8in) and the markus is fine for me

thanks anons, will go to ikea next week and try it

Dont buy this chair. DO NOT BUY THIS CHAIR.
Now don't get me wrong, its fine. Its fine, but you can never, ever get comfortable in it.
So if you will be spending more than 3 hours a day in it, or sitting it in with leasure in mind, its horrible.
T. i've had that chair for 5 years.

Depends on the person

If you're a manlet, get some yoga blocks to prop your feet on after adjusting your chair to the proper height.
You can thank me later.

I am 6'1 and its terrible for me. I have a manlet friend (he is like 5'7), and he got one and hates it as well.

I'm on the same boat as you, and I use this(Ikea Flintan). Pretty comfortable due to reclining back and cost me 70 euros. Give it a try as well in the store OP.

thanks will try it

That markus does NOT look like it would be comfortable all day for my 200 pound ass.

I literally have this chair. I found it on the street. It’s not bad, not Uber comfy, I need to put my legs up on the table, more like an office chair than a comfy bedroom pc chair IMO

Why not just get a used herman miller on ebay OP?

>gayman chair

If your a poorfag, go to Ikea and check out their computer chairs. They are built pretty well and are cheap.

Meant office chairs not computer.

I'm 6'4" and the only thing good about it is the high back. I hate everything else. But I also think I just don't care for office chairs in general.

...

What do u buy then? I like to buy big ass executive padded chairs.

amazon.com/gp/product/B004ZVHKJE/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I just got this in today. Absolutely love it

100% agree with you. Fucking swedes. Ain't good for shit

this chair is MUCH better than the markus im 6'1 and this chair is wayy more comfortable

I wish there was a modern comfortable setup. Why do they all assume you need a desk designed around writing on paper?

>being comfy is a meme
this fucking board sometimes

I unironically have that setup

Fact: All racerchair owners watch pewdiepie and pony post

I want to see pics user

pictures or it didn't happen

is there such a thing as a budget aeron? i want to be able to configure my chair more without spending $1000

I want to believe. Is it good?

I've got pic related, not exactly cheap but not as expensive as a new Herman Miller either. I love its lumbar support, it feels nice and soft over a large area and has done fucking wonders getting rid of my lower back pain/strain. Properly adjustable armrests are a godsend for my mouse arm too.

Is that the staples one? looks like the headrest wouldfuck up my neck.

I'm not home, and it's not that model, nor is it actually mine, my roommate inherited it. The one in pic related is pretty old, they're not nearly that bulky now.

It's the Ergohuman. In my normal seating position I don't even touch the headrest, I have to lean back a bit to get to it. I kind of like it, but there are versions with no headrest at all.

It's true... In the store it feels nice, but when you start to use the back support it feel lossy.

is it a good way to work? better than sitting at a desk?

I don't know what Sup Forums thinks of these, but I like them. I used to have a friend in primary school who had one in his family's computer room, and it was comfy af.

If you're able to do most of your work via keyboard yes.
It's mainly for ergonomic reasons .

Which chair is recommended for someone who's 6'4" 290 lbs?
>inb4 Amerifat hurrdurr
I'm 18% body fat so yeah I know I'm fat but I'm not obese like you fucks like to meme

I recommend a car seat you personally have ass-checked and like, then add a base and perhaps a seat cover (for easy cleaning, remove cover, launder, done).

The engineering investment in car seats fucking dwarfs mere office furniture and car seats are designed for much more demanding use. I had an old power recliner to dispose of so I did it the easy way and blew it apart with my electric impact. After shitcanning the wood I was aroused by the excellent base so I added a simple hinged plate and bolted a passenger seat (driver seats take a beating, pax seats much less so) to that. I get both sets of adjustments, the seat mechanism and the power recliner base. I've had it for several years and it beats the piss out of every chair I've used including Herman Miller and Aeron. I can afford those but would take a car seat any day because I spend most of my evenings on the internet.

Thanks based user

(You)

Yes, used Aeron for $300 on Craigslist from a failed tech startup that only lasted 6 months

Is an aeron really the best for EVERYBODY? Even if you're heavier?

Depends on how heavy you are. They make several different variants

>IKEA trash
probably made out of pressed cardboard

>his only experience with Ikea is their cheap shit

All their shit is cheap. Isn't the most expensive chair like $200?

>imp lying that IKEA is anything but cheap gook """swedish""" trash

so everything they sell?

>chair is $100au
>delivery is $160au

Hey OP I have had that chair for the last 3 years and like the other guy I wouldn't recommend it.

The net backrest is kinda uncomfortable, I find the back alignment to be weird but it might be because I'm very thin, also the ass-rest's foam WILL lose resistance very quickly. I'm basicaly sitting on the plastic deck underneath at this point. Very uncomfortable.

The only thing this chair has got going is the nice backrest angling possibilities.

agreed. my lower back feels awful when sitting in this for long periods of time. if you do end up getting the markus i'd highly recommend also getting a lumbar pillow.

of course it could just be that my back is already fucked up from using a shitty chair in college.

Right I forgot this was Sup Forums where everyone has $4000 desks hand carved from solid oak and $1000 chairs

what do you recommend for someone who likes to sit cross legged on their chair, and is 6'3" and 92 kg

Don't sit cross legged on a chair, and lose some weight. As a short term solution though, use a chair that lets you remove the armrests like OP's IKEA Markus.

DO NOT BUY THE LEATHER ONE
I have one and it's hell to keep clean. Get the gray one.

>his chair cannot do this
What a fucking nigger.

Why would anyone use an actual chair? fuck that shit. better for you and cheap as fuck

any price:performance brands to consider for ergonomic chairs (adjustable lumbar, headrest)

>go to store
Ain't nobody got time for that.

Fuck all your gay shit. Steelcase leap + rollerblade wheel replacement casters

Literally the goat.

NOPE, do not buy Marcus from Ikea, at least not the leather version
The leather on headrest starts cracking after year or so and the warranty doesn't cover it

that looks goofy as fuck but honestly probably comfy as hell. i like using my laptop while laying on the couch but supporting the weight and the awkward position gets annoying after 5 mins

That's actually quite intuitive but who the fuck just has a car seat lying around?

>let's you remove the armrests
They even remove themselves.
I have to put a screwdriver on that fucking chair once a week to not loose it.

iktf bought a new one recently from some ergonomics office wank

the lower back support thing is barely in my back the neck pad is pushing against my shoulders
had it for years now too

t. 6'4 lanklet

Seconding this. I've had this chair for a year now and my $50 office depot chair before it broke was honestly better.

I can't believe I fell for the markus meme, what a regretful purchase.

It's just a shit chair. I'm using a lumbar pillow on this thing as well.

I had one of those, its interesting, i used it in tandem with a regular chair but wouldnt commit to one 100% unless it had plenty of adjustment options (but then it would probbaly cost in the 4 digits)

Was hard to find a durable one, most are rated for 20-50 kg and look like children toys, (Im 90) and cost ~50 bucks, and the other group are artisanal hand carved wooden antiquities for 300-600 and orthopedic chairs for even more

Found one for 40 bucks with 80kg rating but it didnt survive even half a year. The seatcushion cushioned as much as a kitchen towel, the seat broke in half and the metal parts cracked

only for girls and manlets though
Im 1.90 and while its comfortable to sit for short periods its not suitable for desk work. To get more height you need to pump it up a lot, but then it becomes harder and less comfortable, and also wider, pushing my legs off the ground, which increases the pressure and you sink in more again

Also those are uncomfortable to jerk off in

Wat u think 200lbs is too heavy for a 6'3 guy? Especially when it comes to Sup Forums posters?

Bah.

all chairs that are for sale are garbage. no one sells those $1000 or more chairs that some fags post here.

this is my dream work setup. i get so drained sat at my desk. whereas i can concentrate for 12+ hours lying on my bed with a laptop. productivity would be insane with this rig.

you can buy them dumbass

I feel you brother. That chair is shit, but I have to use it because its not broken

How do you use a mouse like this?

The roller wheels look nice.

Have you ever tried the steelcase gesture? I'm considering getting that or the leap whenever steelcase has their next semi-annual sale.

I have these at work, are bretty good.

What would any anons recommend for someone like me who is roughly 260lbs, needs to sit upright at the computer desk for roughly 8 hours per day, and has $300 on me? I tried and really liked the mesh back chairs at Staples and OfficeMax that had adjustable seat depth, since they really help me sit upright, but I need something that I know will be able to hold my weight for a long period of time.

I'd recommend putting the fork down and getting some exercise, fatfuck

Forgot to mention I'm roughly 5'10".

Confirmed, my last job has this chair. I swapped it for one of the smaller ones so I could get comfortable.

>What *chairs would any anons recommend for someone like me
Fixed

What's the best price:performance ergo chair (either model or brand) for

theres nothing but chinkshit for that price and it wont last longer than a year under that weight.

This idea really interests me, since I've always found car chairs super comfy. I think I found a car chair on Craigslist for $60 (they say it's ez install 4 bolts and swivels 360 degrees), but what kind of base would I need to get for it to be an office chair? Is this a part I would need? Anything else?

I bought this chair and it's great desu. It feels nice, it has a tall back so I can actually rest backwards on it, and it leans back so I can put my feet up and relax while watching movies. I bought the leather option because I get paranoid about cat hairs etc. getting stuck in the fabric or it getting dirty. The only problem I've had with mine is that it squeaks a fair bit, but I just need to add some silicone spray and then it'll be fine. I've been considering unscrewing the armrests and keeping them off since I don't actually use them that much.

Anyone here that is either overweight or can't afford a new embody I hope you kill yourself or your mom dies of cancer.

Great chair for the price, I bought it about half a year ago due to my old chair killing my back. Its comfy as hell, and my only grip with it is that the headrest isn't farther forward.

I'm 5‘8“ and my head is exactly at the center of the headrest, it,s perfect.

I'm 6'2" and it feels too small, you're fine

Own the markus.
Would rather have a nice large foam pad to kneel on
been thinking about an exercise ball but im 6'4" and 100kg

That's the one with the backrest that's like super narrow isn't it? Seems it would suck for a big dude.

it's garbage overall
standard features with shaky plastic parts and psedo medical gimmicks that only further aesthetics

Hm?
