Zen+, consumer Volta, working (and I MEAN it) Vega, Samsung's consumer 64layer SSD's and a lot, lot more.

The 4K HDR TV I have arriving next Friday. I don't plan on buying anything computer-related at all, as my current Ryzen/1080 Ti setup should be fine until 2019 at least.

Wayland

It's already working properly (unless you use nVidia card, that is).

Zen+ for sure, maybe Navi. Also I hope gooks lower the DRAM prices because shit's fucked up atm

>Also I hope gooks lower the DRAM prices because shit's fucked up atm
Gooks are scared shitless (look at Samsung's CapEx!), courtesy of ching-chongs threating to enter NAND/DRAM market.

Not him, but without Openbox or a worth successor I ain't even considering it

Is there a new graphics card on the way?

I'm hoping the 1080ti goes down in price

the price will go up
because they will end production

No, you'll probably be able to snatch one cheap after NV launches another gen and thousands of kiddies will try to sell their old and busted cards.

Year of the Linux desktop

the librem phone

Consumer Volta. I want a 4K crunching beast of a video card that handles just about anything maxed.

that crytominers go bankrupt and fuck off making RAM prices go up

Volta. It hurts so much looking at 1080's knowing I could get one right now, and get away from my 750ti. But knowing Volta is coming soon I prevent my self from buying it

there won't be consumer volta. stop being an idiot. nvidia is skipping volta for consumer and going straight to ampere. if you get your head out of your ass and look at the volta titan you can quickly realize how shit it is once you start to cut it down. its only ~30-40% faster than the 1080 ti. yeah, cut that down for consumer cards and all you end up with is pushing current tiers down one tier. that's literately pascal over maxwell all over again. with nvidia stating ampere for 2018 the titan volta is all the volta you're going to be getting this year.

and honestly, don't get your hopes up with ampere either. nvidia is starting to ignore the consumer gaymer market and focusing solely on ai / deep learning / car shit. ampere will most likely be a +10-20% over volta. more decent for consumer cuts but still nothing like +80% over the 1080 ti.

New Lemote hardware

Would machine learning work for hashing tripcodes

This reminds me; I've gotta get a monitor with a HDMI port...

>A Ryzen 1700 w/ board and 4 GB DDR4
>250 GB 960 EVO
>8-10 TB Ironwolf HDD
>4 TB Portable Extension HDD 2.5"
>Corsair Crystal 570X for my main rig
>maybe a secondary 28" 4K screen
>maybe a GV107 if NVIDIA releases a 75 W 1060 performing card for 120 €
>Hopefully somewhen affordable RAM prices

Its the year of the secondary PC, just for the case I ever get a BF

Almost certainly not. If you can somehow figure out how to "predict" SHA-1 hashes and publish your results, you will become famous.

What's the future of finding trips then? More power?

it works, sure, but there's still lots of small problems that prevent (me) switching from Xorg

The 1080 Ti already does that.

You'll never see any card that handles every game maxed. Some games have insane levels of SSAA or unnecessary gameworks and postprocessing effects. Just turn them down.

...

AMD kicking Intel and Nvidia ass, now that their village idiot Raja is gone.

Yeah, bruteforcing is all we have right now

Mother
Fucking
This

How did this get past Sup Forums's retard alarm?

gtx 2080Ti with 24gb graphics

They are already doing fine, imagine a Ryzen 2 with 4.5-5 GHz. I would upgrade my main rig immediately.

Singularity artificial intelligence. Neural network type technology is the most interesting shit going on. For 2018 it's seeing google's waymo and other projects hitting consumers more.

i laughed

Unfortunate that the one tripcode website went down

I just want to get the cheap scraps once everyone upgrades their GPU

An AMD GPU thats actually good.

4k 120Hz+ HDR monitors with Gsync/Freesync, HDMI 2.1, Zen+, Volta/Ampere, Thunderbolt 3 with Titan Ridge, SD845, 64+ Nand (should be a good year for SSD), 8-core Intel mainstream if rumor are correct.

Could be a great year to buy with the exception of DRAM prices, GPU price could also be sketchy. I plan on big build this upcoming spring/summer.

I'd settle for an AMD GPU thats actually in stock at MSRP

nothing. i have what i need.
but maybe in 2019 i might do something.

I'm excited for the 1180ti because in my imagination I'll be able to afford it

VR so i can watch 3d porn

... anyone who already has it - how good is it?

I'm not really excited, because I have the 1080 Ti in reality and don't use it. The games I play run on a 960 in 4K. It seems it is just shit releasing now. Im boycotting EA btw. Hopefully it will help to rescue the gaming industry.

I'm using the 980ti currently, and it does fairly well at 4k but it's not flawless. I think the 1180ti would have the extra juice needed to really make 4k shine. Also my 980ti doesn't support HDR.

good enough to say that it's already here. why aren't you viewing one right now? in late 2016 it was even pretty good

Quads... Luckyyyyyy :/

kill yourself, faggot

I had both the 1070 and Titan X Maxwell. You only need a 1080 for new titles, but I donÄt play them, everything is shit. The only thing I'll play again is WItcher 3. It runs maxed at 55-70 FPS. Note, you should OC your card. FE cards drop into the 40s. A Ti handles 4K pretty well, but you wonÄt have any headroom, it barely manages to mainstain 50-60 FPS in new titles with maxed settings.

GV100 would be only 40 % faster with better drivers and 2000 MHz core clock. I hope they skip Volta and bring the next Ti card in 2019.

no, ill watch 240p gay amateur videos on my 4k tv and dream of having a bf

I'll probably be waiting for a 1280ti by the time I have enough to buy one anyway. I'm not really sure what good OC levels are for my card but I run it with the current settings and it caps out at about 80C under full load.

custom amd vega cards

Falcon Heavy.

If Falcon Heavy is a success and sends the Tesla Roadster to Mars, then they can be very confident in their Big Fucking Rocket project. I can't wait for actual humans to go to Mars and start a colony.

These are all hopes and dreams but its a start.

what are you posting from and why are your apostrophe's Ä instead of '

Zen+ 2018 zen2 2019 long wait

Get ready for rebranded 1080ti Ampere..... you want video Volta+zen2 not 2018

Linux kernel 4.15/4.16 and gnifs KVM frame relay
And a shitty vega refresh so nvdiots have to continue forking out big shekels for their gpus

Not going to happen.

Volta is mostly about improving general compute performance.

Titan V makes it painfully obvious. Don't expect any major bumps in graphical performance for "GV104" and "GV102". Nvidia already used up all of the TSMC 14nm magic with Pascal. They are going probably throw in a 1 or 2 more blocks into GV104 and GV102 dies and do sight tweaking.

GV106 will probably get a nice bump since there's still plenty of room for increasing transition budget a.k.a throw in more blocks and Nvidia naturally wants to make a Polaris killer for the mainstream market.

distributed computing should make some leaps in the next few years. hold on friendo.

What is Nvidia Maxwell?

Same 28nm process as Kepler but totally new microarchitecture with updated features and much better performance

Don't post if you don't know shit

35w package raven ridge with enough grunt to play everything on 720p high 1080p medium onto a fully serviceable laptop

amd please deliver

PCI-E 4.0 Lanes

DDR5 RAM

x86-ARM capable CPUs

DP1.4 to USB-C retimers on consumer market (You can only purchase through Paradetech or MegaChips right now)

Thin ITX 8th Gen motherboards

4k 120hz
Volta (especially the 2050 ti)
Zen+ so that intel will be forced to release i3 and i5 with hypethreading + i7 with 8 cores for $400
SSD and RAM price drops

...

>What is Nvidia Maxwell?
One-time trick out of Imagination book.

Volta is already taped bro with GV100. We have already seen what it can do with Titan V.

Titan V is only somewhat faster than Titan XP that it replaces at graphical performance but has far better general compute performance.

Expect the same tale for the smaller pieces of GV100 silicon.

Nvidia and AMD haven't done any revolutionary GPGPU design since Fermi/GCN 1.0

>Nvidia and AMD haven't done any revolutionary GPGPU design since Fermi/GCN 1.0
Well fuck, RISC SIMT works!
It simply works.

ausfag time traveller here

Volta is glorious
Navi sucks ass

>Volta is glorious
I look at GV100 and see nothing impressive besides dedicated ML circuitry.

Exactly, Nvidia is going after general compute and crypto-fags this time around.

I wouldn't be too surprised if Nvidia releases lower-end Volta-based Tesla SKUs for miners but their marketing people will label them being target towards "student developers/AI learners.

>I wouldn't be too surprised if Nvidia releases lower-end Volta-based Tesla SKUs for miners but their marketing people will label them being target towards "student developers/AI learners.
There's already P4 and P40 and no one really buys them over cheapo GeForce cards.

Its just Bigger pascal higher clocks

Gamersnexus literally did a review on it already its nothing that we havent already seen, a next gen 1080ti basically

Sadly AMD will fart out another card to keep investors happy but i doubt it will be any better then the vega
in benchmarks it was pretty good overclocker and blitzed 4k at 60-100fps+

Retard, those are still enterprise-tier SKUs. I'm taking about something even lower than that (Axing ECC and some higher-end FP performance).

They are basically customer-GPUs with no video output dedicated entirely for general compute.

>Sadly AMD will fart out another card to keep investors happy but i doubt it will be any better then the vega
They will fart out more Vega, maybe they'll even write proper software by then.
>Retard, those are still enterprise-tier SKUs
End? Tesla is enterprise-tier line.
>I'm taking about something even lower than that (Axing ECC and some higher-end FP performance).
P4 or P40 have neither, and no one still buys them.
>They are basically customer-GPUs with no video output dedicated entirely for general compute.
So, like any fucking headless GPU?

>They will fart out more Vega
its dead user

they make them for now because they dont have anything better till 2019+ for all we know

>its dead user
Nowhere near that.
>they make them for now because they dont have anything better till 2019+ for all we know
Something better than Vega is still Vega.

Those headless GPUs are just "vendor specials".

What I'm taking about is that Nvidia would make official SKUs for their partners. They could even use a completely new marketing brand if really wanted to. If they felt that low-end GPGPUs will tarnish the professional image of the "Tesla" brand.

There's definitely a lucrative market for entry-level dedicated GPGPUs. It is no small due to crypto-fags and Nvidia shareholders want a piece of that pie.

A fucking 1070ti is better than a vega 64 and 56

Its dead in the water user its the 390x and 580 all over again

Is it supposed to work with nvidia any time soon?

A mobo with more than 19 PCI-e slots so I can build a miner with even more GPUs.

Yeah but will a bunch of the used 1080ti's be ready to die soon if bought?

>Those headless GPUs are just "vendor specials".
No you retard. Read the datasheet on Tesla P4 and Tesla P40.
>If they felt that low-end GPGPUs will tarnish the professional image of the "Tesla" brand.
They are doing it since Kekler.
>There's definitely a lucrative market for entry-level dedicated GPGPUs
That uses consumer stuff.
>A fucking 1070ti is better than a vega 64 and 56
Let's not lie.
>Its dead in the water user its the 390x and 580 all over again
It's merely a card with no software.

I just want AMD to make a card that competes with 1080ti

1070Ti is just a "stealth" 1080 replacement because GDDR5X is too dang expensive and hard to come by. 1080 is about to be discontinued as soon as customer-tier Volta launches.

Nvidia wants to sell off their "good" GP104 stock with higher profit margins. 1070Ti is the result.

That's Vega64, in ~6-8 months.

This is a big reason why im sticking to my shit 970. Games just arent good enough to push me into a 1080ti.

What do you mean; a new GPU or just drivers?

Software.
It's a miracle Vega even works as is.
Piece of shit doesn't even know your bog standard shader types.

It will never overtake against 1080Ti. Vega 10 simply doesn't the ROPs to hold up.

Vega 10 just has massive shading prowess and memory bandwidth at its disposal. It will at least distance itself from GP104 stuff instead of taking trading blows them.

>It will never overtake against 1080Ti.
No one knows.
>Vega 10 simply doesn't the ROPs to hold up.
Gayms haven't been ROP-bound for like ~10 years at least.
>Vega 10 just has massive shading prowess and memory bandwidth at its disposal.
Shading prowess is relative when GP102 and Vega10 are different down to shader stages.

devblogs.nvidia.com/parallelforall/inside-volta/

>The new Volta SM is 50% more energy efficient than the previous generation Pascal design, enabling major boosts in FP32 and FP64 performance in the same power envelope.

anandtech.com/show/12170/nvidia-titan-v-preview-titanomachy/3

>Which in this case is that the Titan V supports conservative rasterization tier 3 rather than Titan Xp’s more limited tier 2.

Volta is not Pascal, stop posting if you don't know shit

Interesting

>It's merely a card with no software.
just like the 390/290 and the 7970 before that

they have consistently fucked up for 6+ years maybe its time they just call it quits

clearly its good hardware when used right (closed enviroment oem consoles, etc.) but its dogshit for actual PC use because the drivers are just dogshit.

i bought into the meme i had a 6970 which was good a 290 390 and 390x which where all DOGSHIT, they where very fast for their time but extremely hot.

cant wait to see this more in DX12 and Vulkan games

Daily reminder to ignore loser at life Bondrewd spouting memes, the idiot moron cuck doesn't understand anything about GPUs

The threading model changes are totally useless for 98% of consumer stuff.
>just like the 390/290 and the 7970 before that
NONONONONONONON
That was *bad* software.
Vega has NO software.
It's so wildly different I have no idea why was it even greenlit.

Cheaper RAM and GPU.

gamersnexus.net/guides/3170-titan-v-gaming-benchmarks-async-future-is-bright-for-volta?showall=1

Volta is gonna be very interesting when it actually launches soon

it crushes AMD at ayysync as well as gaming literally as fast as two 64's

AMD has never had any good drivers, things where looking up with Crimson and the 390/480 and then it all went to shit once they failed to deliver on Vega which was a year out of date before it even launched.

I love AMD i have a b350 and 1600x and i love it to death but AMD's RTG gpu's have been dogshit for over half a decade almost 6 fucking years man its time to call it quits.

Again, all about general compete performance and efficiency in GPGPU farms.

Volta is a what "Fermi" wanted to be depute a powerful and efficient GPGPU.

>AMD has never had any good drivers
They were pretty consistent though.
>then it all went to shit once they failed to deliver on Vega which was a year out of date before it even launched.
They did deliver on it, just not for consumer workloads.
>RTG gpu's have been dogshit for over half a decade almost 6 fucking years man its time to call it quits.
AMD's only bad GPU in the past 6 years is Fiji (too big for it's own good).
