Theres literally no reason to get the 8600K over the 8700(non-k)
Theres literally no reason to get the 8600K over the 8700(non-k)
There is really no reason to use the botnet intel.
>muh slightly cheaper cpu with more cores than i need
non-hyperthreaded chips are junk
just look at the 2500k vs 2600k
back in 2011 both the 2500k and 2600k performed equally on most fronts.
poor fags told me to get the 2500k because the i7 was "overkill"
fast forward to 2017 and the 2600k is a good 30% ahead.
it's even worse when people buy locked Chips
>fast forward to 2017
Who gives a fuck? Those chips are old and not much use today. It was solid advice then, fucking retard.
fpbp
>old and not much use today
I wonder who is behind this post...
with the money saved, OP could have gotten another CPU.
I still think that the 920s are still decent, only the boards for them disappeared. Nobody cares about your 30% speed in 2011 user
I am not , I am just rebutting your remark that they are all 'old and not much use today' is quite obtuse to reality.
Theres no reason to buy intel housefires
>still buying intel when ryzen is out
lol and you guys call apple user's shills
why not just save some more stamps and get a 2066 cpu and mobo
but intel actually performs measurably better
Actually X99 is a more sensible platform. Even through it is only upgradable to Broadwell, it have 20+ cores Xeon E5 that you can purchase on ebay. LGA2066 is limited to 18 cores; the Xeon Bronze-Platinum is on another even larger socket.
Are Xeons gonna be able to handle high freq DDR4 tho? When they get that low cas 4200mhz shit out there I'm not sure if it'll work on the higher xeon
meanwhile 2066 u just drop in the medium price i9 and you've got nearly double the RAM speed pretty much
there are many reasons, actually
but keep shilling for free, fanboi
>there are many reasons, actually
I do suppose supporting your local Rabbi is a legitimate reason.
Some people can live wthout 500fps csgo, you know.
It's cheaper.
There, you got destroyed.
>nice argument
t. 8600k owner
that's why I got the 8700 non k
8600k has slightly better single core but half the threads, so yeah
also in response to:
>it's even worse when people buy locked Chips
I have never ever overclocked anything in my entire life, so I just figured out that I won't bother buying the K
I could go out and buy a mustang for $20k, it has 6 cylinders; or I can go out and buy a 325i (4cyl) for $30k. not only is the BMW faster, it's more stable
>even considering a V6 mustang
At least you've told us you're retarded.
The faggot posted it again.
>Theres literally no reason to get any Intel processor
FTFY
What if you just wanted a good processor though? It's not like they have any real competition baka.
Literally ANY other processor is better than Intel stutterfires with 0 value.
>he doesn't buy VIA
This is why god doesn't talk to us anymore.
You seem like an emotional liar.
Implying that our lord would choose to communicate on the pagans architecture?
>still using an intel cpu in 2017
>crying-wojak-amd-hat.jpg
2017 was supposed to be our year.
>not getting the 8400 and upgrading earlier
It's like you WANT to be retarded.
Reality doesn't care about my emotions.
Hence the fact that amd is still shit maybe 2018 will be better for them.
Is 2018 amd's year, or is the zen uarch pretty much all they have for the next 5+ years?
What's wrong with Zen? It's fucking amazing.
Keep telling yourself that.
You realize the Zen arch is objectively better than Core right? Literally the only weakness of ryzen is lower clockspeed, which will be improved a little next year and a lot with Zen2. Intel's the one people should be worried about, they essentially have nothing interesting until 2020/2021.
>needs cherry picked RAM
>low af clock speed and single core performance
>Ayyymd
no thanks, you can keep your trash
>sweeping generalized statement
Depends what you're doing, fuckwit
>Intel
>Considerably more expensive, both for their processors and motherboards
>Considerably higher temps due to sub par production methods and quality control
>Forces you to buy into a new chipset despite supposedly working with older ones
>Locks down overclocking with the exception of their uber expensive K and Z processors and motherboards
Honestly, anyone with half a mind and budget would probably invest in AMD and put up with any inherent nuances. THere's literally no reason to invest in Intel, besides a legible increase in performance and that it simply, 'just works'. Actually having memory working at rated speeds is the only thing I give Intel.
How's buyer's remorse?
absolutely none, I got the 8600K because that's what the shop had in stock when I went there. it runs amazing at 4.7 ghz and single core performance is a beast. also I'm not a poorfag neet so if zen2 or icelake is amazing I'll just upgrade.
>anyone with half a mind and budget would probably invest in AMD and put up with any inherent nuances.
I use my PC everyday, it's not like some stupid dumb toy you buy only to use it two or three times per week or less, I want it to work without fail.
If it means I have to buy Intel so be it, they could be making their CPU with the ashes of jewish kids and I still would buy it because I want my stuff to work.
How is this such a hard concept for AMD shills to grasp still baffles me.
I'm not AMD beta tester or lab rat to be testing otu their shit until they get it working correctly, they are a multimillion company not that little corner store owned by a gentle old lady who can barely afford to pay the rent.
Didn't you hear the whole controversy about how hyperthreading on all Skylake-derived processors was literally crippled with bugs? This required a BIOS update, not at the beginning of the mobo cycle but at the end when most people aren't oo concerned about BIOS flashing. Hey, remember how Intel ME was compromised and Intel had to rush out a microcode update to prevent the possibility of every Intel CPU in the world from being compromised? These BIOS's are still in beta pretty much everywhere.
The idea that Intel CPU's just werk is the absolute dumbest meme ever. Poor memory compatibility on Ryzen vs. features that straight up don't work and cause harm to your PC on Intel.
who pissed in your cornflakes mate ?
>X also has Z problem therefore Y is not bad.
No.
>The idea that Intel CPU's just werk is the absolute dumbest meme ever.
That is because Sup Forums is too stupid to read the technical notes both AMD and Intel put out with each new architecture listing known bugs and whatnot.
Hyperthreading is a meme. You need more cores - you get more cores, HT won't even amount for a half of core, even if you have 4 cores with HT.
>who pissed in your cornflakes mate ?
Literally the entire argument rested on the fact that because AMD had some growing pains with their new arch, (which Intel suffered as well with Core 2 and Nehelem) Intel was the better optionfor people who use their PC every day. This is blatantly false, as Intel requires MANDATORY BIOS flashes just like AMD.
I didn't have to flash shit with my MSI Z370-A and i5 8600K. everything just werks out of the box
Hyperthreading is shit - but the technology (SMT) is great. Just because Intel has spent 10 years getting pathetic gains from it (IBM and AMD get considerably more scaling from their versions) Sup Forums is quick to dismiss it.
LOL, enjoy your crippling security vulnerabilities.
Also, Coffee Lake is literally a refresh of a refresh, the fact that Coffee lake has any bugs at all is pathetic.
Resorting to attacking your opponent is literally the reason why Hilary lost against Trump.
When you can't stand on your own legs better make your opponent look bad, too bad it only makes you look pathetic, not even pitiful.
Is it worth upgrading from a 3570k? If so, what to?
Let's say I wanted to build from scratch and want the absolute best single threaded speed you can buy (for a not-insane amount of money) would the 8350K be better for max OC due to less cores to cool or would i5 or i7 be able to reach higher speeds more reliably due to binned higher?
How are you so inept at technology? Are you trolling? Literally your ENTIRE argument rested on the idea that Intel works better out of the box than AMD, which I proved was false.
Skylake and Kaby Lake had crippling hyperthreading bugs that required a BIOS update, this is a FACT.
EVERY Intel CPU had horrible security flaws that could lead to a potential compromise due to the NSA spyware inside the CPU, which required a BIOS update, this is a FACT.
What problems did AMD have? Memory incompatibility? An obscure Linux compiling error that was fixed by AMD as soon a possible? The fact is AMD managed to have a more stable CPU, using a bran new architecture, than Intel, who are on their mature process of an arch still based on the Pentium 3 mobile CPU's.
or any other 144hz need
thanks for the info, I just checked and the mobo was shipped with v22, based MSI
I love my 8400 so much
It's been awhile since I've brushed up on my latin fallacies, but you literally just pulled one by bringing up latin fallacies--they literally have no bearing on the argument.
>which I proved was false.
You didn't, all you did was whine about hyperthreading and then about fucking Intel ME out of all things, seriously nigger?
>Worried about the NSA when he posts in Sup Forums which uses Google Recaptcha..
LMAO
What's wrong with v6 mustangs? Europoor here on holidays in the US. I see a lot of muscle cars and they look bretty good. Also heard the shelby handles pretty good, at least the top tier one, unlike the Dodge challengers. Same with the camaro.
The entire point of muscle cars is cheap power, and the V8 has a fuck-ton more for a relatively small cost bump.
Also, every time you hear a V8 Mustang you'll want to kill yourself.
>Intel has apparently issued microcode updates for Skylake and Kaby Lake processors to address this problem
mmh how is a microcode problem a BIOS problem, you know you can update microcodes from within the OS without having to touch the motherboard BIOS at all, right? In Linux is literally drop the microcode file in a folder process and in Windows is a service that gets launched at boot time.
If you're complaining about motherboard manufacturers not updating their BIOS then stop buying from those manufacturers, Intel releases microcodes updates which you can download from their own website.
If you have problems nothing stops you from fixing it not even the lack of a BIOS update.
Pointing out that Intel had to issue a microcode update to prevent a mass security breach due to Intel ME isn't exactly "whining." Do you realize what the consequences would be if Intel ME was compromised? Sure, people only figured out how to do it over USB, but could you imagine how bad things would get if someone did it over the internet?
Get over yourself.
I have a 4770k. I want a new PC so I can get a m2 SSD (960 evo) and some DDR4.
Redpill me on not getting the 8700k.
I play mostly CSGO, with a spare PUBG or BF3@low settings 720p.
I want as high fps as possible with my gtx 1070, maybe 240 if I fancy getting a 240hz monitor in the future (using 144hz atm).
I already have a NH-D15 that I could use to get it to 5ghz I guess.
Please tell me what advantages Intel has over AMD, now that it is known that every modern Intel CPU has horrible hardware flaws that present a serious inherent security risk. Please explain to me the advantages of buying an Intel CPU with an easily exploitable NSA backdoor in the hardware.
Not being shit is one.
>Theres literally no reason to get the 8600K over the 8700(non-k)
Single thread performance.
>actually using the NSA as an argument.
Did you even followed the whole Snowden leaks, you're already compromised.
>Get over yourself.
I hope you're trolling, because if someone this retarded is out there, it's a tragedy for us all.
Well you're here so were all fucked I guess?
>You: Intel is better than AMD because AMD has all these problems.
>Him: But Intel has very similar problems, some even worse than AMD.
>You: WOW, JUST BECAUSE INTEL DOES BAD THINGS MAKES AMD OKAY? GET OVER YOURSELF! GET OVER YOURSELF! STOP WHINING!
watch out the nsa boogeyman is gonna get you!
Literally no one said this but inside your delusional amd shill head it happened.
You can use the BCLK to overclock the 8700 to offset the single core clock speed
>muh slightly expensive cpu with more botnet that I need
You have trouble keeping up with conversations,. don't you? The guy here argued that Intel is better for people who use their PC every day because it works out of the box, which was proved false. He then responded by calling me a Hillary Clinton supporter and claiming I was "whining" and told me to "get over it," just by pointing out bugs in Intel CPU's. If you're buying Intel because it "werks out of the box" then you are misinformed or a shill.
>computers only use is vidya
Back to with you
(yew)
CEMU is better on Intel
This post I am writing now is written on an Intel CPU that came out of the box, went into the motherboard, and worked.
Even if you're being ironic, it's still shitposting.
This post I am writing now is written on an AMD CPU that came out of the box, went into the motherboard, and worked.
Good for you.
>which was proved false
WRONG, literally guy only argument was hyperthreading WHICH WAS DISCOVERED 6 MONTHS AFTER RELEASE, countless benchmarks were done at this point before it was even discovered.
Trying to compare such a simple fault as this to something like AMD's motherboard instability and RAM problems is not even at the same level at all..
Guys can we all agree that the only cpu worth getting for 2017 is the Cyrix MII 433GP
Wow, if only you had started with that instead of being a fucking faggot for ten posts.
Me? Complain to the amd faggot posting shit he has no idea about.
Now that the coffee lake i3's have 4 real cores, there's no reason for most people to buy the i5, let alone the i7.
Now that the i5 has 6 cores there’s literally no reason to get an i3 ever.
Don't be close minded you liberal, I use a i7 2600k rn for my gaming pc and it's GREAT.
Now that 8400 is literally on par with 7700k@5ghz and only slightly worse than 8700k there is no point in getting anything else than 8400.
4 cores are dead though, the 8400 competes with the 7700K even though the 8400 has a lower all-core clockspeed. That just goes to show how shitty Intel's hyperthreading is.
Greetings Australian user.
