why do people get mad over the fact microsoft funds their fav tools
idgi idgi microsoft funding nice tools benefits everyone
Get over it.
.NET Core sucks on Linux.
It's mostly to keep their virtualization things standing.
No. They know open source stuff works and use the tools. Their shareholders are just old and too much has been invested in proprietary shit to dump it all and start going open.
But open source things are clearly superior and that is why they get funded on top of the good PR. I'm not surprised to see them doing a thing that benefits them. Open source code comes from tons of different people and ideas. While a company can only rely on who is already within it. It leads to more stagnation whereas open source stuff advances faster and some random good idea has a better chance to occur and be assimilated than it would in a company with people looking to get their own promotions and doing the bare minimum possible.
All that benefit on top of the fact that open source stuff is basically like them hiring a shitload of people to code shit they will use for free. Everyone benefits from free and open software and knowledge in general.
Yes
.net core hasn't even been finalized like they just had to get something out the door ASAP to show they actually had something
its actually to share a lot of resources considering majority of the microsoft staff (as "pajeet" and "retarded" as Sup Forums likes to pretend they are) prefers open source

How can applel even compete?
That pic looks very diverse, I like that
I want to impregnate every Microsoft tan, the best product they could ever produce
non-cloud/server M$ distro when?
they'd get PR boost for it but open source software isn't superior
Microdick is the TSA of operating systems.
This is called submission.
How is it not superior?
oh i'm sure i'll switch to bsd soon enough

>his hope and dreams - gone
This chap knows what's up.
Wonder if microsoft will give direct x to linux.
>won't open source their firmware for surface shit and insist on Windows Subsystem for Linux as an okay compromise
what were the next two steps?
t. brainlet
Because its competitors actually work for productivity-related tasks without a dozen root terminal hacks, duh
Open Source was a mistake
why does linus hate freedom
They can't really extend or extuinguish it though
its just a meme around here to proclaim anything microsoft does is EEE
I know the term, but in the case of Linux, they can't possibly pull it off
>make organisation depend on ur money
>rule
Red Hat and Google currently invest a lot more into the Linux kernel than Microsoft, also good luck gaining complete control as long as Linus is in charge.
Master baiter
Which one?
Right but it doesn't matter if it's possible or not, the meme is still used to fearmonger microsoft's relation to anything. People around here think open sourcing powershell is suddenly going to turn linux into Windows 10.1
