ITT we post your 2017 disappointment

...

...

RAM and GPU prices were very disappointing for the final half of last year.

I wish not to post a photo of myself.

:(

Vega is the only correct answer

Upgrading to a nice Ryzen system with all good components except a video card because I'm not fucking paying that.

...

buuump

My eyesight got bad in 2017.

RAM prices

not being able to build a new PC because of fucking retarded RAM and GPU prices

...

Only AMD cards are overpriced

>subpar gaming performance
>very good mining performance
>additional mining optimisations from AMD via "compute mode" in the new Adrenalin driver
>vega FE is starting to be marketed towards miners
>miners buy every vega card they can get, keeping GPU prices up
vega was unironically my most favourite thing of 2017
it's literally "this kills Sup Forums: the GPU"

in my country, all the GPUs got overpriced. the 1070 used to cost 480$ and now it costs over 625$

>being poor

I remember that feel, but not anymore

Hey Steve

1060 6gb costs like 350$
The only non overpriced card is 1080 because you'd expect less value for high end cards normally.

If you don't think that nvidia prices are high too then you're retarded.
RAM prices have no real reason to be high though apart from the usual kind of DRAM cartel.

...

The RX480/580 and Vega are overpriced

Everything is/was effected. Regular buyers were forced off the mid range AMD cards and started clearing out the stock of NVIDIA cards and even low end AMD cards.

test

I wasnt disappointed, because I didnt expect anything

>tfw fell for the Vega 64 meme
:(

sell it at profit thats what I did to my 56. tbf vega was a pretty good buy for anyone who managed to get it at msrp, worst case they can sell it for 150-200 dollars more.

So are the 1060, 1070 and 1070 Ti. Nobody cares about whatever third world shithole you live in where this isn't the case.

2017
On a new years dinner with friends and family right now and one person slipped while holding a glass disc. She's in the hospital now.

Pretty glad I waited for vega to drop before I bought my 1080ti a couple of months back

What's wrong with it? I thought they were pretty decent?

>furnace
>not as powerfull as Sup Forums wanted
I still would like to have a decent AMD GPU if it's vega, so be it.
inb4
>buy nvidia lol
shit open source drivers for linux, unfortunately

Vega is a overhypped mess, worst than Fury X

>decent
Are you serious?

I got mine for 550€. But I don't want to sell it, because I have a 1440p 144hz monitor with Freesync, and I don't want to give up Freesync and get a 1080Ti.
Also I set it up to mine Monero while I'm at work now and I expect to get some money out of it.

But in general it's quite a disappointment. Magic Drivers never ever.

>bought a gaymen GPU for linux
Get the closed source drivers Jesus Christ

oh ok then, that makes sense. in my case I was really disappointed, but I'm happy I managed to sell it at profit.

Who said anything about gayming?

Get a mid range GPU

fpbp

waiting for price go down on rx580 (don't want to overpay for no reason), but prefer something high end
inb4
>lol, gayming GPU on linux and not gayming
I can afford it

...

Cmon dude, I was expecting to have a fun time reading the funny memes not realize it's been a whole year since I didn't stop being a piece of shit
