I like mailbox.org. Less in-your-face than protonmail, lots of features and pretty cheap at 1EUR/month.

I use Gmail. But I've got it setup so that it works with Outlook. The 15GB free space on Google Drive they give you is nice to. Plus integration with Youtube.

Fastmail is the best paid service if you dont need the complete tinfoil hat of protonmail

Look into Tutanota. They are ProtonMail biggest rivals and their plan is fucking gold. Using it and very happy. Plus it allows you to have e2e encryption by using shared passwords and opening the mail in a private instance, unlike ProtonMail which needs another ProtonMail account to benefit from it.

What's the point of such adhoc features, at this point you might as well use any other communication method that has native e2e encryption.

The owner had to give BND ongoing full, root access to the e-mail servers to avoid arrest and extradition to Germany.

It's totally secure as long as you don't share CP, arrange drug deals, or money transfer to anti-Israel oraganizations over the e-mail.

Just like AirVPN in the VPN world, Startmail is a great provider for privacy but everybody wants to shill literally anything else because it's just that good. I just looked at multiple YouTube and article reviews of this year and pretty much none of them mention or discuss Startmail in detail.

It costs $60 per year so it's not for poorfags. But if you are willing to pay for it, you'll get decent security, decent interface, and a clear conscience if you're currently mooching off Startpage, by actually contributing to its upkeep.

Gmail. Use imap if you don't like the interface.
