Should I invest in Ripple? For how long?
Cryptocurrency is a scam, so no.
I can't seem to compile GIMP from a git clone after it fails to compile the glib test program.
Here's the relevant lines from config.log:
configure:22200: gcc -o conftest -march=x86-64 -mtune=generic -O2 -pipe -fstack-protector-strong -Wall -Wdeclaration-after-statement -Wmissing-prototypes -Werror=missing-prototypes -Wmissing-declarations -Winit-self -Wpointer-arith -Wmissing-format-attribute -Wformat-security -Wlogical-op -Wtype-limits -fno-common -fdiagnostics-show-option -Wreturn-type -D_FORTIFY_SOURCE=2 -Wl,-O1,--sort-common,--as-needed,-z,relro conftest.c >&5
conftest.c:50:10: fatal error: glib.h: No such file or directory
#include
^~~~~~~~
compilation terminated.
What's odd is that pkg-config is not used at all to either check for the headers, nor to plug in the proper include directories and linking libs when it attempts to compile.
Removed battery connector and installed ram and SSD. When I plugged the battery back in, the connector sparked. The laptop will not turn on, the power button flashes red and it makes a sound but it will not boot. Any ideas?
do you think intel cpu price will go down?
Pardon my ignorance but what happened with Intel? Should I be concerned?

Why there are different versions between a gpu that have 1*8 or 1*8 + 1*6 pin connectors?
is only because of the coolers?, i can understand that a 1070 Rog strix needs more power to supply the 3 coolers and that's why it needs more pin connectors.
But why, for example, a rx 580 8gb (sapphire nitro+), has 2 pins and the rx 580 8gb (Aorus) has only one pin connector?

I keep getting this when trying to ask a question on the microsoft answers thing
Let me get this straight. The Intel vulnerabilities can't be patched and the only way to fix it is by buying the next release of Intel processors with a completely different architecture? Am I reading that nuclear level of fucked correctly?
It was the ssd causing the short. Is this is a bad install?
What's a non dog shit tts program that allows me to change the output device
A combination of updates from the OS (win/linux/mac/android) and firmware updates can disable a feature of the processor, thus rendering meltdown solved, at the cost of that feature's speed benifit.
Spectre affects pretty much all processors (not just intel), and we can only patch sub-attacks as we identify them, so it's hard to say how fucked we'll end up being there, or how much of a PITA it's going to be in the future.
My win 10 .PC is stuck in a restoring previous version loop. I’ve been shift+restarting every morning for a month to revert the os as it would force updates every time I left the pc alone for a few hours and this time it isn’t working out. Pls help
will thicc laptops make a comeback eventually after processes can only get so dense they need to get larger to grow in power?
im sorry for your loss
Thanks. Kicking myself in the head for not buying AMD.
Why is the export/import feature on Signal so shitty?
Plaintext, not encrypted, fine. But it can't even export/import MMS messages, so any SMS with an image gets lost.
Is there a way around this?
How to i made some directories on my server accessible over the internet sorta like samba on my local network. What's the difference between SAN and NAS?
lol, VPN. Maybe if it's your own configured VPN, but if you throw your server behind a VPN in immediately becomes inaccessible. That is unless you somehow filter what exactly is behind the VPN, which isn't necessarily that easy.
Anyway, myself I simply use sshfs. So I just ssh and have access. Simple and secure. Could be slow depending on your connection speeds.
How to I fake Desktop user agent on Android. When I use some browsers like Mercury and Dolphin that a fake user agent or use "Request Dekstop site", some sites still detect it and show ne mobile cancer mode.

How does one find the relevant firmware updates?
Wifi router of choice for poorfag?
They'll probably show up in windows update in a week or two. Maybe keep an eye on your mobo's site to see if they post anything new.
ethernet cable
If I want to get a cheap shitty little netbook (like the Asus EEE or Dell mini) what should I get?
I'm just gonna use it for programming in vim/neovim and stick Debian + i3 on there. 1gb ram would be enough, maybe even 512mb. What's the cheapest I could get that has a good build quality?
Espeak

I'm about to investing in a NAS system for all my videoprojects and all that.
Should i opt for a NAS system with 2 drives,
2 x 4TB
Or 4 drives x 2TB?
I want to eliminate those HDD noise from my case, and hide them away. welp.
Thanks man. I didn't realize I was looking for a mobo update since every article was just saying to contact your OEM manufacturer and I didn't know what they meant. Got a patch but contemplating the noose since I just built this pc a month ago.
Is this something to worry about? I read on google that as long as the pins are still in its okay but I'm worried. The bend is quite slight (looks a bit exaggerated in pic) but what do you think?
no worries mate, just don't bend them more my man
anyone?
Thanks mate. Its my first build and I'm just anxious about everything
Why is this not showing in Windows?
All of the text on Sup Forums right now is in fucking italics. It's on italics on other websites too but I figured specifying Sup Forums might narrow it down better. Which font do I reinstall to fix this shit?
might have to enable it in the bios? i cant speak too much on it, but in my bios there were some options regarding nvme
I have all my OS files on an SSD and most of my programs, vidya, etc on an HDD.
What'll happen to all those programs if I wipe the SSD and reinstall windows? Will they keep working like nothing happened or will I get registry errors, etc
I've been using a bash script with argon2 for password management using "masterpassword username-website" as a master key. I'm using Gentoo and yesterday argon2 got updated from 20161029-r1 to 20171227 and now I get completely different hashes and I don't know what to think.
I thought hashes were always supposed to be the same given the same input, salt, parameters, etc. What do?
And it is compatible
Hp bios is shite, no advanced tab and can't see drives
How do you reset program window sizes to their defaults in Windows 10? I've never tried to do it before and can't figure out what to search to find the right answer. I just would like windows to go back to their default size when not maximized.
Thanks in advance for any help.
Can i find windows activation keys somewhere or i have to install some shady program to activate it?
SATA interface while motherboard supports only PCIE.
does anyone have a good guide for reinstalling windows 8.1
Is there much difference between 32" 1080p and 32" 1440p? And can a rx 480 4gb handle 1440p on older games?
I'm not familiar with it myself but it looks like argon2 has three different hashing algorithms. Perhaps the update changed which of the three was default, in which case you will need to add arguments to your bash script to use the correct/old one. Play around with it a little bit to see if one of thre three settings gives the results you expect.
the difference is that one is 1080p and one is 1440p
this change will be more or less perceptible depending on how far from your monitor you sit, obviously.
I've got an intel nuc mounted to the back of my monitor now. Is there a such thing as a usb-power button or remote that will power it on so that I don't have to reach behind the monitor to power it on?
What difference would you see using 8 GB DDR4 RAM and 12 GB DDR3 RAM?
I need it for school using a virtual environment
Everyone I talk to already in the field says college is a waste of time for IT (networking admin) and to get certs. I'm currently in college for an associates in network administration and studying for certs, I guess just finish it out? Have a year left and only reason I haven't taken tests yet is because I'm a poorfag.
Which is the best option for my NAS when i only really intend to use it for media streaming in my local network (and maybe set up gitbucket for a private git repo)
it''s behind a NAT router, if that has any merit.
where are these supposed to go? And in what order? My best guess is the "powerled & x header" on my mobo but its two sets of 4 pins like:

is it possible to make the dumb windows 10 movie and tv player automatically start looping videos?

What is the best thing that ever happened in the world?
They are labeled on the mobo
You, because you are a beautiful being, please keep moving forward.
what's the best free backup software?
I've looked over the mobo and the full list in the manual and there is nothing with those names
You're blind or lying.
is this even the appropriate board to ask this question? first time posting here so i would like to know
actually you just did
Oh I found it in the manual! I missed it because its called system panel header. On the diagram though I can see the hdled, pled, pwrbtn and reset.
you could install a different better media player like mpc-hc, mpv, or vlc
someone?
Should i apply for jobs while being "slightly" intoxicated?

Noted, will proceed to drink and not seek jobs.
Cheers mate.
is there a minimum 'medium-size' tv size? like a cut-off measurement where the size starts to affect like how close you sit etc?
ive usually used 40" tvs which i'd consider in the 'large' family (say low-mid within that range)
but now im looking for a medium sizen one
whats a good inch measurement?
thanks
Can't get a windows iso file because I have an OEM product key wat do?

Does anybody know any good openGL book?
So I currently have windows 10 installed on a 256GB SSD and a 1TB SSD used for games etc. I'd like to dual boot and I'm curious if it would be better to try and partition the 256 drive and run windows/linux on it and then have the 1TB as either partitioned for each/shared by each, or should I just do 1 OS per hard drive?
Is gparted still what I should use to partition drives?
does it show mounted as a normal drive i would like it to work like that if possible?
It does for me. Not sure how it will look or work on Windows though.
pls help
okay thats cool itll be on my laptop so i wont be using windows thanks senpai
Left is my current build. I want to get a new motherboard, CPU and more RAM. The right is the CPU, RAM and mobo I want to buy. My price range is 400-500. Will this be compatible with my build?
is 60gb for a boot drive too small now? I have nothing directly installed to my C: drive other than Windows, but even then I'm constantly cleaning it just to have enough space for windows updates
yea fuck that, windows 10 likes to overwrite the MBR after updates, only thing to securely dualboot with windows 10 is buy a cheat 128GB harddrive, install linux on it and select wich drive to boot from
Here's the command I use to mount my fileserver. You should be able to put it in fstab, but I'd recommend just making an alias or something so your entire system won't crap itself because it can't mount some remote filesystem.
sshfs -o follow_symlinks -o IdentityFile="/home/User/.ssh/id_rsa" -p 22 [email protected]:/RemoteMountpoint ~/LocalMP
Basically it will work as a normal directory. Open a video and it plays, etc.
Got a used iPad Pro cellular. The embedded SIM only gives the option of AT&T as a cell provider. Is this locked to AT&T and is it possible to unlock?
