What do I replace this shit with?
2018
a brain
gnu/linux
DiskCleaner
What do you think CCleaner actually does? You don't need to replace snake oil.
CCleaner 4.19 portable
/thread
fpbp, may as well end the thread here
Replace it with common sense.
rm -rf ~/.cache/*
CommonSense
I've never seen CCleaner having any appreciable effect. It's placeboware, like all those android apps claiming to make phones faster and more responsive.
>CCleaner having any appreciable effect
It cleans your shit. That's what it does. If it doesn't successfully clean your selected areas then you're just not competent enough to use the software. Don't tell people it doesn't do that because it does. If you're disappointing because you expected it to replace a stick of ram then your fault for being wrong.
BleachBit. You're welcome.
You don't nigger, it's the fucking best.
>t. pleb
It works great clearing useless/old crap from your PC.
Gentoo.
It cleans up disk space used by useless temporary files, that's pretty much it. It tends to clean a bit more than Windows' built-in tool. I used it now and again on my laptop since it only has a 120 GB SSD and getting an extra ~1 GB back every few weeks is useful.
reimage repair, google says its the best
>google says
Fucking millennials, I swear..
Its selling point is making windows machines with degraded performance work faster without having to format and reinstall, and it fails at achieving that.
>competent enough to use the software
Nigger, even my grandma could use it. Don't pretend like there's any skill involved.
> Sup Forums recommending ccleaner / other placeboware
absolute state
>even my grandma could use it
No. She would install the shit and run it as is without realizing you can specify cookies to ignore while cleaning, specify folders to clean in addition to the standard ones CCleaner looks at and also use CCenhancer to add more things to go through. Also manually checking and unchecking what you want CCleaner to clean makes it better for each person's system.
You can edit your startup with it and also browser plugin startup and some scheduled tasks.
>inb4 even my fucking great grandma could do all that mane. It's literally nothing.
Not really related to thread but what is the deal with the Chrome browser automatically starting when Windows boots into desktop?
It's probably in your startup. It is related because you can use CCleaner to check on it.
sudo pacman -Scc
Fucking trannies, I swear..
That's automatically configured after you install Chrome, you can disable it by pressing the windows key + r, then typing msconfig, then on the Windows startup tab disable Chrome, that's it.
Consider switching to Chromium, it pretty much the same as Chrome but without that sort of bullshit
