I spilled water on my 6 year old kindle so I am looking for something new to read my books and PDFs
I already have an iPhone and a MacBook so I thought about getting an iPad to do that. Does anyone here does the same? Is it comfortable?
The new kindle is much cheaper and it feels like I would be wasting money on an iPad just to read shit..

I thought I was going to get at least one reply

I'm in the same boat, though I'm was thinking about the Huawei M3 Mediapad 8.4in. I don't think Sup Forums likes tablets all that much as threads are sparse. 2-in-1 devices will supersede tablets soon, so that's probably why. Try checking the archive.

Kindles have shit tier low res displays
Ethan Williams
i have ipad mini 2, its pretty good for gook comics
Evan Nguyen
Just get an Air1, my one still works fine for that kind of thing

>iPad No, get a cheaper tablet if it's for reading.
Adrian Johnson
I bought a Samsung Galaxy Tab S2, I download gook comics, put them on and read them there. Display is good and I can run other apps as well. I hate that Apple doesn't really let you put your own stuff on there, I don't know if the tablets are the same as the phones, but the lack of certain apps I use on Android which aren't there in the Apple appstore annoys me greatly. Depending on what you want to do either get an Android system or an Ipad.

Get a kindle you fuckboi
Wyatt Nelson
you can get used ipad mini or air for really cheap. Cheaper androids suck dick.
Jonathan Long
no?
Josiah Morris
good for PDF but it's a hassle to get files on to one.
Hudson White
not really, but if you don't have a mac you need itunes or some alternative for that
William Davis
Why would you need iTunes? The internet exists. just use iCloud or google drive or whatever
Nathaniel Foster
If you want to go blind then yes. Regular screens kill your eyes with extended use, just get a cheap e-ink reader, they cost nothing.
John Williams
It’s perfect read and use in a bathroom
Nathan Collins
Kindle for books, iPad for PDF (textbooks).
Kevin Perez
iPad is not bad for a tablet, but if you're going to read books on it, then might as well get a Kindle. (I strongly recommend a Paperwhite, used or new)
Carter Green
tell me more about this. I've some textbooks as pdf but I hate it reading them on my computah. Does the ipad fully display a page of a textbook with figures and images and latex math writing?
Cameron Nelson
iPad is by far the best tablet out there. With that said if you only want to read a kindle might be wetter value.
Aiden Miller
This. Even my 3 year old Samsung tablet lags. Don’t get an android tablet. Either an iPad or another kindle.
Eli Edwards
it should render them correctly, if the latex in the pdf is fine.
never had a problem with PDFs on iOS devices.

will the 12" one display a whole page, meaning A4 meaning 30x21cm?
Camden Miller
I think it should.
I have the 10" display and I have to zoom often, but it has great form factor. I think the 12" will probably be a lot better for viewing A4, though the portability will be slightly compromised. And the iPad itself will be a bit bulky.

sqrt(21^2+30^2)/2.5 =14.6" But usually, there is an inch of margin on each side, so if you automatically crop this, sqrt((21-5)^2+(30-5)^2)/2.5=11.9"
