Deepest Lore

The Brazilian flag portrays the stars as they would be seen by an imaginary observer an infinite distance above Rio de Janeiro standing outside the firmament in which the stars are meant to be placed (i.e. as found on acelestial globe).
This is why they are mirrored.

And who looks down on Rio? That's right, Christ the Redeemer.

Does your flag have things that make you think?

...

Thank you for the bump my leafy hue diaspora.

Question remains, where is all that Ordem and Progresso to be found in Brazil?

This is a bully-free thread.

>hue diaspora.
Nao, eu nao sou a diaspora.Just a random poster

Brasil needs to be sued for false advertising

Bad flag design. You should take a lesson from Japan, the red dot signifies an explosion and the white around it a blinding light.

>white/blue central cross
Count Henry's cross
>divided in 5 small shields
Afonso I (first king's) symbol - Afonso killed the five Moorish kings of the Seville, Badajoz, Elvas, Évora and Beja
>5 dots in each small shield
Displayed in the same way as Christ's wounds
>Red Border
Added by Afonso III, his mother was castillan or something
>7 Yellow Castles
7 castles conquered in the Algarve by Afonso III
>Yellow Sphere
Armilar Sphere - basically a star map (like a globe) used during the discoveries. Symbolises the globe explored and charted by the Portuguese duyring the 15th century
>Red half
Made up a posteriority shit - blood spilled in battle
>Green half
Made up a posteriority shit - hope for the future

Should replace the green with white for Christianity/purity and the red with blue for the Ocean.

Damn, I wish my country had so much story to put in a flag.

Our motto comes from a famous phrase from Augusto Comte "L'amour pour principe et l'ordre pour base; le progrès pour but." "Love as principle, order as base, and progress as an end". That phrase in the flag literally implies that we already got love, and that we should strive for the two others

we are the only country that still got colors refering to the House of Hapsburg m8

All that shield was used before you guys got independent, so the history is also yours.

Like, Brazil had as much if not more Portuguese people, so you could've kept the shield if you wanted, it was still your King's.

Crown/sovereignty bifurcations are weird.

>ORDEM E PROGRESSO
what did they mean by this

this

The current Norwegian flag was created right after the Napoleon wars, and implemented as our official flag in 1814.

The three colours are taken from the ideals of the French revolution.

Red = Brotherhood
White = Equality
Blue = Freedom

The cross represent our kinship with the rest of the Nordic countries.

everytime you add a motto to your national symbols, you jinx it
for example USA's "in God we trust"
pic related is our CoA, big mistake

>that lion looking for his hat and can't find it because lions can't look up
Are there even lions in Paraguay?

Truly is the greatest flag.

This.

damn, thats neat

wew

not bad

>be most important country in the history of Europe
>its' culture influenced a lot of what is today
>almost 4000 years of a history
>A FUCKING TRICOLOR FLAG

why do non-Iberians have such a shitty imagination?

*of history

>ORDEM
>E
>PROGRESSO

I wonder...

Chilean motto of "Por la Razón o la Fuerza" (By Right or Might) is not false advertizing, we have been in very few wars but we have won all of them. We are a Pacifist Militarist country.
