>Ist "ß" besser als "ss"?
Depends. Look into the spelling reforms from the 90's.

Caveat emptor: my German is just ok at best.

Thanks, any help is appreciated.

Just remember that you don't need "bin" and it's other conjugations when using verbs like in English.

I am learning German => Ich lerne Deutsch.
"Am" is not translated into the German. I've seen this mistake a lot from beginners.

Huh, my German teacher told us to use "bin", like if I was going to say "Ich bin heisst user"

What the fuck? Maybe in certain forms of past tense that'd be okay (Ich bin gegangen). I've never seen it for present tense stuff ever.

Wait about 6 hours and /deutsch/ will be awake. You can try asking them. They're a fun bunch (get ready for some Sup Forums bantz though).

Lol OK. He started studying Deutsche in 1978 or something, so his way might be a little different.

Your teacher is either an idiot or you misunderstood something

Just keep at it. Bring it up in class. Say a friend told you that 'bin' isn't used like that.

Keep at it, user. German is tough to break through but once you're there it's not so bad. Make sure you practice writing/speaking. I can read it very well but my written skills are fucking atrocious.

Here's a helpful youtube channel. I really learned a lot (especially since I only have Sup Forums as a teacher).

Kthx
I'll definitely look into it, thanks!

>Bin ich tun dies korrekt
I'd rather say "Mache ich das richtig?"

Hilfe, forgive my scheisse handwriting.

Ich lerne schon 2 Jahren aber glaub ich soll schon besser sein

NEINNEINnein das ist nicht gut.

You should put the gender of the words in your list like Der Tag, Das Land etc, and group conjugations together

Wo lernst du? Bist du ein Student oder Schüler?

NW Oregon, student.
Scheisse, danke.
Okie doke

I've only been to class 2 times, das lehrer only taught us to introduce ourselves, ask what your name is, and say our jahre alt. Most words on that page is what I've gathered from 2 hours of looking up words online.

To specify so I don't get b&, senior year. The district just introduced German into the curriculum, so unfortunately I won't be able to get 2 years in. I plan on studying further if my interest continues past graduation.

Schon gut :)

I just don't want you to make the mistake I did of forgetting genders in the beginning. Now I have to guess the genders of some of the words I learned early on but didn't use much, like body parts etc

Hope you're having fun with it, I'm not that good yet but I love the language

*der Lehrer

What I did was go to a community college just for the German classes. Might not be viable for you but where I am (California) its $46 per unit, German is 4 units so it's about $200 per semester with 3 or 4 levels (depending on interest- they didn't offer German 4 this year)

Ja ja ja. Just remembered mein Lehrer mentioning "Der, Die, Das" and how Deutsche has 3 genders, masculine, feminine and neutral or something. Danke.

Hmmm... interesting.

Also bist du ein Schüler und kein Student. Ich studiere für 3 Semesters jetzt in der Uni. Ich mag es aber meine Lehrer wären sehr gut.
Benutzen Sie dict.cc und Quizlet für Wortschatz. Ich muss jetzt schlafen aber viel Glück!

I need to count sheep in mein schlaf, thanks for all the wunderbar advice! Gute nacht! Auf wiedersehen! Gute morgen! Whatever or wherever you are.
Danke!

Leo ist auch gut.

Noch was: ich glaube du darfst normalerweise auf Internet duzen.

>die versuechet ernsthaft dütsch z'lehre
Kek

Das was du sprichst kann man aber auch nicht Deutsch nennen.

Was solls denn heißen? Cherman? Schweutch?

Ein unverständlicher Kauderwelsch

die meisten meiner Familie lebt (leben?)in der Schweiz, darum lern ich deutsch aber ich weiß nicht wie ich schweizerdüüch lernen sollte. Weiß noch nicht mal wo in der Schweiz sie lebt/was für Dialekt ich lernen soll
