Not since like 4th grade
OUT
only the autists in my class actually recited the pledge
I was the cool kid who sat down and said that it was my right to not stand for the pledge.
Nobody cared but I felt like the coolest guy ever
Hey man I still listen to those football pregame cacophonies
I'm american I swear
Fucking commie
When I was in school it was either the pledge or listen to some shitty rendition of one of our national songs. The pledge was vastly preferable.

...
do texans actually pledge to texas every morning too? ha
lol
We didn't do it at my high school to be honest.
I pledge allegiance to Deez Nuts.
I take a big fat SHIT on the flag of the Urinated Sharts of Apeerica.
This pledge thing is the kind of shit I'd expect from North Korea
>being patriotic means you're brainwashed
liberals
>It's only brainwashing when other people do it
americans
You forgot to capitalize God, heathen.
Repent, sinner!
>Implying the morning chant was anything other than creep as fuck
What the fuck is a pledge of something
what the fuck lads, are you implying you were saying loudly and ceremonially that you like the flag or something?
Nope just children forced to pledge their complete allegiance to the ruling government. Nothing out of the ordinary.
That is the MOST communist thing I have ever heard of in my life
you should've massacred all the leftists when you got the chance.
I remember back in high school we did it every morning, everyone stood but not everybody said it, just stood, and the ones that did say it kind of mumbled it.
Someone is saying it over the intercom while this is happening though.
All rise for the national anthem
what in the fucking world
I thought you weren't a communist third world country full of dumb people
You do realise that not every single left winger wants to kill you because you're white/ male right?
I suppose it does look pretty odd.
But the only time you'll ever say the pledge here is in school. Once you graduate high school you are unlikely to ever say or hear it again unless you join the military or something.
Sometimes sporting events do it too.
What is a pledge
What does that word mean to you
I mean, you live in the US, why the heck are you saying that bullshit
can you pledge to something else? does that affect your grades? what symbolic meaning does it have?
Nobody honestly thinks much of it here. It is a very monotonous part of the school morning routine and it usually is followed by school news and announcements.
Nobody gives the pledge any thought of all, it's just something that is done. It doesn't affect your grades at all if you don't do it. You'll just look slightly edgy.
What are you talking about? Don't you know its patriotic? If our children weren't forced to do this every day for the twelve years of their compulsory education they wouldn't know what freedom is.
> You'll just look slightly edgy.
While its not exactly mandatory, the social pressure to do it is still very much there for exactly that reason. Also while you won't exactly get outright punished, kids who don't do it will often get the "you're disrespecting our country speech" from the older teachers or any gym teacher (why is it always the gym teachers)? This could possibly reflect on to your grade depending on how petty they are; which they normally are (especially the fucking gym teachers).
You know the pledge is a conservative thing, right?
>"We thank you comrade Stalin for glorious country that we have today! May the capitalist pigs find the true way of communism or perish in the fire of revolution!"
This isn't patriotic, it's this tier
Wtf America, is this shit real?
Yes
