I notice it in CS, not so much elsewhere.
It might be better, but not something you'll notice.
Honestly 60 to 144hz can sometimes still be a lil tricky for me to notice (but I can still tell)
It is a noticeable jump and would recommend.
It all depends on what’s you’re planning on doing, when I found out my dell monitor could do 75hz I left that shit on and when playing games I could tell everything was moving much smoother. When switching back it just didn’t feel as good for gaming. In daily tasks like web browsing and shit I could also tell the difference but it didn’t really matter so if that’s what your planing I would say don’t worry about using 75hz.
Anything less than 144 is unplayable
t. 60fps monitor playing at 144fps
I can still notice when my game dips from 144 to say, 90fps and ostensibly my monitor shouldn't even be able to show that.
Noticeable? Yes, but it's not as big of a difference as 100Hz+. If you ever feel like it's a little more smooth than usual but not a lot, then you're probably using 75Hz.
Yes I got an AOC FreeSync Q3279VWF and playing at 75 hertz is definitely smoother when it hits
sub 75Hz CRTs are unusable
>guys wy dont i notice a difference on this static image after i increase the rate at which my monitor draws new pixels to the screeee? it's broken! >:(
Ive owned a 144hz monitor since 2013 and when I toggle between 60hz and 75hz I notice it. I have also read that you get a huge gain in smoothness from that 15hz compared to the "rest" of hz up to 144. However most 75hz panels are only slightly cheaper than a 144hz so just get the 144.
You do, at 75Hz from desktop using the mouse and moving window to FPS games there's a noticeable "smoother" improvement
>People here are too young to remember CRT monitors that had so many refresh including 120 & 144 mhz as part of package.
>Technology & Progress.
>what is screen tearing
>but but muh delusion
It is noticeable even for someone unused to it, when I discovered a monitor I have has that option I just left it @75hz and it is better.
But I won't change a working monitor just for it, probably not even for 144hz. If you just need a new monitor then go for IPS@75hz, totally worth it
>75hz is still better than 60hz so why not?
still go with 100hz if you can squeeze a bit more
I use a 75HZ compaq from 2003, bretty gud, shame it's only 1600x1200.
i have a 100 Hz monitor and there is a huge difference between 60 and 100 Hz. once you're used to anything above 60, going back to 60 is unbearable
on u2515h 75hz is very wobbly
I don't notice an immense difference from a 60Hz LCD to the 90Hz low-persistence OLED in my Rift, so I'm going to say that it isn't. 90Hz with no blur is obviously better but 60 is still good as long as it's solid.
>Honestly 60 to 144hz can sometimes still be a lil tricky for me to notice (but I can still tell)
okay grandpa, the difference between 60 and 144 is night and day.
I used to get really hyped about getting 80 fps on ny games. I was sure that that jump from 60 to 80 really made a difference. I thought it seemed way more fluid. Then one day I found out that my monitor is actually 60 hz
Just from the input lag I notice the difference between 60 and 144, even on a 60Hz panel, you might be retarded.

Move your mouse cursor around in a circle (white mouse on dark background). Do you see lots of cursors trailing after? There's your answer.
the 60hz vs 144hz difference really shines in FPS and Thirdperson rpgs, like the Witcher or Skyrim. its seriously a night and day difference.
Are you retarded?
It is noticeable but not anything to write home about.
what the fuck is the point of using a still image to compare framerate?
the human eyes cant smell past 220 volts
Skyrim is capped at 60fps tho.
Are you retarded ? Screentearing is not what you think it is:

It does absolutely nothing if your monitor is already a blurry mess at 60Hz.
It would be noticible in certain situations.
I overclocked my monitor from 60hz to 75hz and its somewhat noticible.
For most case scenario the jump from 60 to 75 isn't too high to be noticible. You'd definitely notice the difference between 60 and 144 hz for sure though. I have both monitors and you can see the difference by moving a window across both monitors.
For actual numbers, the frame update time caused by 60 hz is every ~ 16.66 ms and 75 hz is 13.33 ms. At 144, this lowers to 6.94 ms.
>120 & 144 mhz
>mhz
I used to have a ViewSonic CRT that could hit 160 Hz at lower resolutions. Now that actually looked like motion; things were _not_ skipping 50 pixels between frames.
no it is not.
i have my monitor overclocked to 75 from 60, and its the fucking same.
I immediately notice smoother cursor movement at 75hz, and all games are just a little bit more fluid, especially at 60 FPS or above, it's very subtle but noticeable.
>playing Todd's Game above 60fps
Enjoy your broken physics.
You guys should try real life. Resolution and framerate are top notch.
Yeah but the plots a little dry
Special effect suck
NPCs and AI are shit
everything is a gold sink
impossible to level
touché
>60 to 144hz can sometimes still be a lil tricky for me to notice
60 to 144Hz was literally the biggest, most obvious "NIGHT AND FUCKING DAY" upgrade I've ever seen on my desktop PC and I've been building them since the mid 90s. HDD->SSD is the only other one that even comes close.
the cutoff point is at about 80-90 hz. but anything past 60 is diminishing returns.
>what is input lag
That shit engine's probably slightly broken anywhere outside 30-60 FPS.
but what about full hd > 4k?
this entire thread. what the fuck
If you want a good video playback, lower the hz to 72. This would reduce the judders.
71.928
this.
I don't play CS, but similar shooters.
generally, gaymen => more fps = more better.
anywhere else, nah
test
Put some snake oil in your Kool aid, you'll see it then.
