They try and do two things but fail at both.

if you shake it a little bit, does keyboard fall off?

The Surface is supposed to be the best and I hated mine so yeah, 3.5 stars seems the limit.

I love my Surface Pro 4. I just wish the battery life was longer, but they fixed that in the latest iteration of the Surface.

It's a jack of all trades, master of none.
I have a 10 inch 2 in 1 and it's a bit too small to be a comfortable laptop, but also a bit too big and heavy to be a comfortable tablet.

I try not to trust reviews on Amazon when it comes to computers, because it's not like Linus Sex Tips is going to be reviewing the computer every time. It might be your retarded boomer relative who's angry that he got a virus and for some reason blames the computer.

It would be extremely painful.

Paid like $1000 for a surface pro 3 years ago. 64gb hard drive space (really), throttled when playing even the simplest of games, and lasted a little less than a year. Was cool while it lasted but not worth it.

I just picked one up on the cheap and setting it up now, ama

Writing on a surface is so much better than having to use pen and pepper.

Surface Pro 4 u

The good
>portable
>battery life
>light weight
>fairly capable
The bad
>a tablet is more portable
>battery life is better on a tablet
>a tablet is lighter
>an ultrabook is can do much more
>price
>windows touch ui is shit
>there is no better alternative to lelnovo yogabook (almost bought one 2 month ago but got an ipad instead)

So the conclusion is, that 2 in 1's are like going to a whore for a blow job and you must use condom too. Kinda pointless, doesn't worth it and sucks.

it got pretty bad reviews but i'm enjoying my lenovo yoga book. it's pretty competent for drawing (compared to my surface pro 1 running photoshop, i'm better able to emulate real world painting on it using infinite painter). I find myself using the laptop mode for drawing, and the tent mode is really comfy for watching movies. Tablet mode is pretty great for reading comic. All in all pretty good uses. It helps that it's light enough to be a tablet.

>pen and pepper.
Yeah, I would expect so. I take it you live in Mexico.

I like mine.

I compare it to a swiss army knife.
Is a swiss army knife a decent knife, yeah
Is a swiss army knife a decent bottle opener, Kinda
Is a swiss army knife a decent cork screw, fuck no but it is my most used cork screw.

Is a surface pro a decent tablet, yeah
Is a surface pro a decent word machine, kinda
is a surface pro a decent computer, fuck no but it is my most used computer.

Is this a meme? It looks more interesting than the surface.

2 in 1s are fucking shit. I had a surface pro 2017 edition for about 3 days until I noticed how bad it was and returned it.

i fuckin love tablets, especially the 12-13 form factor, but they are chronnically underpowered at the moment.

Im hoping the low tdp coffee lake and ryzen chips start to change it.

Just get a laptop and an iPad - you'll be a lot happier. The reality is you're sacrificing both tablet and laptop quality by getting a 2 in 1 no matter what. Tablet especially since Windows is a shit tablet platform and battery life isn't never as good.

Strong magnets hold it in place.

The Surface Book 2 is pretty decent minus the absolutely unjustifiable price tag.

I'm sure they may have some use for artists, but other than that, I'm not really sure.

How do they fail at being a laptop?

They're just laptops with a touchscreen.

If I can't game on it, then it's a failure.

The modern implementation is shit. Swivel hinge convertibles are god-tier.

>>Sup Forums

A big part of the problem is that tablet software is garbage. Microsoft fucking Tablet edition anyone?

The hinge can't hold the thing at a constant angle so you can't use it like a laptop, you have to use a table. It isn't even close to being a laptop because you can't use it as a laptop, its just a shitty portable tablet and a separate keyboard

unless your lap has strange ass topology you can use it just fine as a lap top.

You can play with words all you want but it's still utter shit as a notebook computer

I've tested several 2-in-1's for potential adoption by my employer, and so far only the thinkpad yoga can keep its screen steady in any normal laptop position for an extended period of use in a lap. The other ones all wobble or start to slowly fall further open.
Nice digits btw.

You have to position the back stand thingy to be just right, and you can only adjust the screen to a couple different angles. I can just pick up a laptop, open it and set it on my legs and use it just fine, adjusting the screen however I want and it just stays in place. You're trying to justify a shitty purchase

It's a shitty laptop and a shitty tablet, with shitty performance and shitty battery life.

Congrats.

Lenovo yoga sorry, not a thinkpad model.

That’s not a 2n1, that’s a tablet with a keyboard case. A 2 in 1 PC is an actual laptop that is able to fold 180 degrees and is touch screen, or is basically a tablet with a hardware keyboard dock.

2 in 1s are okay, tablets like your pic are shit unless you can somehow find a good, physical keyboard docking solution. And even then, what’s the point of buying a docking solution instead of spending the money on a cheaper standard laptop at that point. But if you just want a laptop that can fold into a tablet, 2 in 1s do it well.

I had a Surface Pro 4 that had some weird problem where the left side of the touch screen didn't work. After much searched, I ended up downloading some Sony program from 2009 that fixed touch screens. It fucking worked (no help from Microsoft, of course).

All else aside, those are some nice fucking digits.

the ipad pro is a revolutionary comp... experience that will make you forget everything before it.

The form factor is fine. The shitty Windows OS with all its bugs and odd ball design makes it a pain in the ass.

The fact is Windows makes a shitty tablet operating system.

i still use a surface pro 3 after 2+ years as my main computer, still like it enough that i replaced the screen a month ago

OP here, seems opinions are pretty divided. You either love it or hate it, guess that explains the reviews.

it does surprisingly well playing older games, spintires and skyrim play well enough, and thats all i really play on pc. i have a big ol' ugly case on it and it's done pretty well surviving in a hard environment every single day. i have like 930+ charge cycles recorded in my battery report at 38k left of factory 42k. the screen breaking was from dropping a big 32mm socket into my bag with the keyboard off, and not dropping it

as a daily surfqce user i totally agree, windows is a shit tablet os and the pen is mandatory for using it accurately, but it's still the only real option to be able to use my tuning software and literally everything else i use daily ithat doesnt have a mobile equivalent n this type of form factor. it's worth

Tech grandma did a side by side comparison of both devices a while back

i dont understand how more expensive than surface 5 m3

What?

quite amazing actually to have an x86 tablet that can run native programs. I'm sick of mobile "apps", most of them are barely work and behind paywalls

surface pro 2017 m3 model is like 780 with keyboard on amazon, i just got my mom to order one last week

So you are saying you don't understand how the EVE is more expensive than the surface pro 5? I wouldn't be able to tell you as I don't buy two in ones, but core m series are pretty week CPUs, maybe the EVE comes with a core i series CPU.

eve also has the m3 which is why i dont understand. i think id be fine with the m3, my first surface was a pro 3 i3 and i only upgraded for more storage (64gb to 512). the m3 is supposed to be faster and cooler, i3 had pic related but new m3 uses passive cooling

If they both have the m3 then I cannot imagine why one would be much more expensive. The m series CPUs are serviceable if you're not doing anything heavy, do you know their wattage rating? I know Ultrabook processors are usually 15w with a boost to 25w, but if the m series uses passive heating and draws less power (which means longer battery life) Id change my stance on them

Core M or Y series cpu uses around 5W as standard.

my i7 maxes out at like 35w boost on xtu i think my i3 used to hit around 27. i3 would plateau around 114f in stress testing and i7 can go as high as 126(F)

It's good, I use it for drawing and watching stuff in bed, but it can't replace my wacom. I've got the sp4 i5 version.

Nah, I've got one it's pretty comfy.
>Use keyboard with combination of touchpad and touchscreen for general use
>Undock for multimedia use
>Still get sick battery life because Intel atom
>Super easy to find micro USB charger

after almost 2 years of use my surface pro 4 got weird graphic glitches i sended it in2 weeks ago and got a new one just weeks before warry ran out kek

>lenovo yoga book
I'm considering buying this. Is it still wirth it in 2018? I'm looking for a tablet to read manga and books, and this looks interesting. Kind of expensive, but is it worth the money for the digitizer?
