Why major smartphone producers are getting rid of the audio jack?

really activates my almónds

why is the telegraph station shutting down

Reddit gold has to be the most pathetic way to show that you have money

Imagine if Sup Forums implemented something like that, people would buy gold just to gold their own posts

But user, they did do that.

Holy shit

Just look at modern laptops
Normies start cumming everywhere as soon as they see a model 0.1mm thinner than last. Theyve been killing the Ethernet port, so doing the same to phone audio jacks shouldn't be surprising

If you really want to think of a conspiracy it's probably a way to shill USB by USB-IF

It's actually the manufacturers who are cumming at the prospect of saving 0.5 shekels per phone on materials

And who the fuck has bluetooth activated all the time?
It eats up your battery anyway.

Bluetooth doesn't use much battery when it isn't actively searching, same with Wi-Fi.

Well, I assumed that since you'd be walking around it would be continuously searching.

eh, I use a smartband with gadgetbridge and keep bluetooth on to receive notifications
am i a faggot?

Fair enough, I guess I'm just out of touch with new gadgets but I just look at the notifications on my phone, I find no use for a smartwatch/smartband.

yeah I never used bluetooth before except in middle school to share porn pics with my classmates (widespread mobile internet wasn't a thing yet) and always though it was slow and shitty
bought a $25 mi band because I kept missing calls while walking and it works pretty well t b h

I literally don't care. I don't do anything out of the ordinary or that would flag me with agencies as a person of interest and I don't buy shit off the back if adverts.

It's better than getting constantly served ads about trucks, medicine and feminine hygiene products.

How effective are ads on people? I've never bought anything because I saw an ad for it. I wonder how many people do though.
I'd love to know the percentage of people who use an ad blocker.

never had a glass of coca cola?

reminder: it's ok to kill people involved with advertising

I prefer pepsi ;)

go grab your parents/partners/friends smartphone and i can guarantee you that bluetooth is activated. no one turns of bluetooth on their devices apart from dorks. normies don't think about that stuff, and corporations know it. all phones have bluetooth activated out of the box.

doesn't answer my question

People only buy things that they hear of. Sites like YouTube cater to children because they are not only very unlikely to block ads, but very likely to click on them and download shitty mobile apps. Sup Forums has the opposite situation and has to offer at least a somewhat useful paid service to get funding, unless you want to speculate about selling user data.

To be honest I don't mind USB for dongles on for things like DVI, more USBs, but I expect atleast one fucking USB-A for legacy reasons. I'm somewhat conflicted on the eternet thing, as I don't have a good experience with USB dongles and ((((drivers)))) on more obscure OSs, I've yet to see a dongle more advanced than simple 3.5mm sound card running out of the box on the stock USB driver.

I've never had a glass of coca-cola

Why does the new razor phone have a dac with no 3.5
Why does apple resell their beatz so people can buy the non 3.5 version

uh huh

how can this be most effectively countered?
obviously, disabling wifi and bluetooth while not actively using them is a no-brainer, but short of turning off your cellular radio or phone entirely, how could you reasonably prevent beacon systems from identifying or locating you?
i figure as long as the radio is active, being able to be identified is a foregone conclusion. but could the location tracking information be rendered useless by rapidly changing the power output of your radio(s) between the minimum viable to maintain a connection and the maximum possible? would this introduce enough noise to make triangulation of your cellular radio highly error-prone?

i wonder exactly what kind of identifying information you can get from an active cellular radio alone...

>telegraph
USA spy telegraph on WW2 almost like NSA agency born on WW2

>how can this be most effectively countered?
by never leaving your house and not owning a phone
