It's only $50 just like basically any other controller you nigger

seriously fucking stop gaming related threads in a technology board

This controller was made by Valve. Valve also owns and operates the service known as 'Steam'

Except I can't play megaman properly with it or any game that requires dual joysticks, it's a straight downgrade from the basic xbox controller

good controller as a mouse replacement for a couch. comfy for tower defense and point n click adventure games.

i agree mouse emulation is the way to go if youre trying to pioneer a new type of controller but put a fucking dpad on it

Maybe you should not have bought it then
Don't post here like your retardation will be cured

It doesn't have the necessary precision to replace a mouse

>pic
kek

then buy an xbox controller?

It's my favourite controller for any game where I'd normally be using the left thumbstick for movement and the right thumbstick for aiming, i.e. 90% of what I play on controller. I love mine.

>$100

You mean $50 right? What are you thinking?

Except you totally can, you can customize the shit out of the fucker.

it doesnt need to be as precise as a mouse. but, get this, some people use analog sticks for fps. i would much rather use a steam controller for that.

I bought mine on a steam sale for $30. It’s really good for replacing a mouse on some games. For a game like Cities: Skylines it’s amazing, especially if you setup the gyro control. Works well for Civ and similar. Would not recommend for FPS or platformers, but some people claim great success is using the gyro control with FPS games but there’s a massive muscle memory learning curve for FPS control.

I bought this and a Link over the Winter Sale for $35 for both. Very impressed with them. I like the dpad stuff but I think the right dpad should have been a joystick.

Also playing rocket league with this is very nice

and you know... op is a faggot n shit.

You mean 60$ with shipping, or 15$ with worldwide shipping during sales

And I own *multiple* Steam controllers, they're wonderful for anything

are controller technology?

>$100 price tag
It's $50 and it regularly goes on sale for $35, probably too complicated to configure for someone who can't do a fucking Google search though.

Most controllers (that run on AAA batteries) are 20$. Afaik only controllers that are officially made by a console company cost more than 30$.

>$100 price tag
It actually costs $250.

i paid $20 for mine.

and $5 for my link

I bought it for fucking $30, where are you looking?

I got mine with the Link for $35 total. The ABXY buttons are so fucking uncomfortable, but besides that, it's just ok.

You're to retarded to figure out the settings maybe fisher price makes a controller

If software is, so are controllers.

I want to buy one even if only to be used sparsely but it bothers me that it doesn't comes with rechargeable batteries included.
That's Microsoft's like jewish levels.
The last time I had to use AA batteries was like 2008 for Guitar Hero World Tour.
Even to this day my original Dualshock 3 battery still hold up pretty well, and this is an original model from Feb 2008.

>$100 price tag
literally what

It comes with a pair of batteries and it can run entirely off a USB cable, that comes included, with an extension cable, and an extension hub port.

Can we keep the kiddy toys on Sup Forums please?

I don't use it, but i like it because it allows some physically disabled people play games and such with the fancy key mapping.

I love mine, I think it's fantastic, and it's endlessly customizable to anything you want.

Sup Forums is only concerned with the games themselves.

>It comes with a pair of batteries
Duracell to boot, could have killed them to include rechargeable batteries instead of an expensive brand?
>it can run entirely off a USB cable
What's this 2000?

...

They last forever. I can’t even remember changing them so I’m talking like 100 hours on a set

>buying Steam controller from Amazon
dumbass.

We don't all live in the united states burgerman

>I need a dpad
>Buys controller without dpad
Wtf why doesn't it have a dpad?

AA's are cheap, and it was probably easier to not have to include battery monitoring or anything like that

Steam sells them in nearly every country from their own storefront. Are you a leaf? Because i know they cucked the canadian storefront to amazon.

This is literally the best controller ever designed

/all threads until we change our hands into dicks alla CRISPR

Sup Forums in my Sup Forums?

its more likely than you think.

>no native windows support

DROPPED

This, it's the perfect casual couch lounging controller for civ v

Are you guys serious? I specifically got mine for couch gaming and it's shit for Civ 5, my bluetooth keyboard/mousepad handles it way better

Eh, DS3 is exactly same, but is wireless and a bit heavier with the rumble shit.

Too bad the xinput wrapper from that horsefucker now doesn't work, as Windows enforces signed drivers.

DS2 feels more sturdy

I find setting up DS3 drivers a lot more hassle compared to just plugging in a DS2 with a USB adapter. Also sixaxis is completely useless anyway

I mapped the gyro to turn on when I press the button to aim down sight in shooters, after a bit of practice with that I found I was quicker and more accurate than with a mouse.

I do still use a mouse when I'm at my desk because a mouse and keyboard will always be more versatile but it's not bad from the couch.

Except you can't play FPS games or anything with a cursor on dual joystick unless you use heavy amounts of autoaim. Haptic touchpad + gyro is the best way to play mouse based games on a couch laid back.

What Gyro?

DS3 has crap trigger buttons. Don't understand why they designed them like that. They just feel wrong. I have to actively make sure my fingers don't slip off when I hold them down.

The gyro that any idiot could map if they opened the controller customization page.

>babyhands

I have one of these (was on sale).

It would be decent if the right trackpad switched places with the XYAB-buttons, honestly.

It's incredibly uncomfortable to have your thumbs at a 90 degree (forced) angle for extended periods of time. And you need to do that if you want access to the bumpers/triggers.

Gyro aiming + trackpads are cool though, but the abovementioned issue just makes it collect dust at home.

Shame.

Yeah I didn't even realise it had one until after it arrived. I don't know why they didn't make it more obvious, it's like reverse marketing.

>$100
Ahahafaggot.png

Wait, is that kinda like 3ds aiming? That sounds fantastic

Manlets, when will they learn?

>The fuck was steam thinking?
that casuals wouldn't buy it without a casual stick, so they fucked up the design
it used to be face button style directions for a d-pad, which is apparently only the second worst d-pad, behind the chosen cancer stick they're using

the left and right pads are your analog inputs
for some reason there is an analog stick on this instead of a d-pad, and the analog stick is not supposed to be your analog input anyway
it's the stupidest concession they could have made, sticks are not good input devices for anything, and they should have stuck to their guns with the original design

Kek. Bought this baby for $25. Works with Windows, Mac, iOS and Android. Has touchpad, ABXY are backlit. Works wired/wireless.

With what ios games does it work or does it use the protocol that's built in ios itself. A lot of cross platform controllers only work with iarcade which sucks.

you need to be Jailbroken to use it on all controller supported games. Using "controllers for all" app. Otherwise it only supports iCade. Still it's a great product. And works with Windows / Android out of the box. Comes with this phone holder. Name is Ipega 9069.

I don't have a 3DS, but it seems like it. I've even seen people use it for a steering wheel in driving games, it's very accurate.

I use mine for everything that's not FPS, extremely comfy for skyrim, ds3, any RTS game ect

Giotek make clip-ons to help with that.
amazon.co.uk/Gioteck-RT2PS3-23-M0-old-Real-Triggers/dp/B001AW156U

O shit I want one now
I've been using my Wii U Pro controller for most things so far, it would be a nice addition

The fuck are you smoking? It's 50 bucks normally and has sales all the time on steam.
Personally I love mine though maybe it's bad for shooters, never tried it with that, I'm not retarded.

Mods will remove threads that are actually relevant but allow this shit.

Don't actually know much about this, what are it's benefits over a standard 360 controller

>screen
It doesn't have a touch screen.
It's a touch pad.

...

>meme controllers
overpriced picrelated got magnets

Mainly the haptics pads. They can be customized to behave pretty much as anything you want. If you have a 360 controller for PC I wouldn't go out and buy one but if you catch a sale and would like to have a controller for your PC they're pretty good. Most people buy them because they want something a bit closer to a keyboard and mouse for FPS's without having to drag one to the couch. Anytime I've played an FPS with one it wasn't horrible but I found myself just wanting to go back to KB+M in about 10 minutes. That said I haven't regretted buying mine. It's been great for emulators and plays smoothly and really lets me get a control scheme that feels just right for pretty much any nonshooter game. That said I do think one of the reasons a lot of people who get it dislike it is because it does have something of a learning curve. Once you figure out what all the different settings do you'll be able to get games to play how you want them but if they dont have a supported configuration it can be frustrating when you just want to plug and play.

>complain about a meme overpriced controller
>post a controller even more expensive and even more meme-tier

Swede here, bought mine directly from steam when it was dirt cheap during a sale.

Best controller on the market.

i have never seen so much misinformation, retardation and autism in one thread.

And I visit /biz/

>tfw you ordered it from chinkstore a week ago and it just arrived

>Two weeks back or so the mechanical pencil thread was deleted while there were multiple wojack threads on the front page console warring over GPUs

I live in England and bought it off valve, took a week or so but got her for 39 quid way back when, I love this controller so much.

I have one and is great for anyhting except fighting games
