Thing is 三国 is shortform for Romance of Three Kingdoms, one of the Chinese Classics, which was about internal conflict in China and refers to those three kingdoms in Chinese mind. Nah. China is now priming its citizens into mindset of Japan and Korea being part of China. Then China simply repeats the "one country many systems" mantra it tells its people about why Taiwan and Xiang Hang get to have different systems. Then possibly make deals with Japan and Korea they can't refuse, meaning they (again) become de facto tributaries to China. Then add to that the wonders of modern mass media and China's insane economical gravity plus healthy nationalism compared to cucked Korea+Japan, give it 100 years and Japan and Korea are assimilated. All Hillary can do is shrug.

Ultimately if needed Japan could switch to importing from the US, it's just cheaper to do it from China, while they need to maintain their export market for a strong economy, so China will have to overtake the US in exports first.
