You have a virtual machine

What is the first operating system you install for it?

waifuOS

Gentoo

/thread

I never used Gentoo. Is it any good?

solus

It's alright but it's memed way too much its not even funny at this point.

Friend

It's great. Individually configuring and compiling your own kernel. Best use of your time.

TempleOS

Hmm, sounds cool. I might have to try it out in a virtual machine. Thanks, anons.

Bump

At least 16 cores and 64gb ram

Honestly it's unironically the best and most customizable operating system on the planet, but there's a high barrier of entry; you must be literally autistic or you must acquire autism.

On top of that, many people don't even need or want the customization that Gentoo offers, at least not at the cost of time/labor that comes with learning, installing, and maintaining everything.

Having said that, I still believe it's the greatest operating system on the planet. Just not for everyone.

Winshit because I need it for running some programs that are not available for my host OS.

Windows 7

What OS is this

The Matrix

Debian

Debian.

I use Gentoo for my main work, but I don't see the value in compiling everything on a VM when you are already losing so much efficiency to virtualization anyway.

Manjaro

TinyXP (or Tiny2003, specifically)

I just got a new computer. I want to see if it can compile gentoo in a virtual machine faster than my old computer can compile on bare hardware. It probably can!

Win7 1st.
Then Mandrake Linux

What OS am I drooling over here?

No you don't. Gentoo is fast and customizable, but "the best" depends on your needs. I find Slackware the best, because it suits my needs, just like some find Debian or Ubuntu to be the best for different reasons. Gentoo is, again, hard to install, but not autistic levels hard, unless you consider autistic to ACTUALLY know what is what and how things work.

Kali

Mac OS

I REFUSE TO GIVE APPLE MORE MONEY

Prob some linux dostro, so when the sperg impulse hits me hard I've it ready

OpenBSD, because with it i feel the same happiness using my computer than with Arch Linux 10 years ago, when it was no systemd, no pulseaudio and an installer similar to FreeBSD

TempleOS

Debian stable, to mirror my main OS, so I can install shit in it and test before installing in the main OS.

>Being this much of an autist

>mu keyboard
Fuck off retard.

windows server 2016 datacenter

Kali baby ;)

Bump

OpenBSD you stupid fucking C.I.A nigger .

Windows 10. GPU pass through for muh gaymes. That way I can at least bottle up the retardation that is windows 10.

Debian hypervisor.

Windows 7 is probably the other guest to keep my old gaymes running.

OH SHIT GUYS LOOK A HACKER!

OpenIndiana.

>windows 7 to test it out, then windows 10. fucked around with more win 7/10 machines for a while, installed one on my linux machine. Made a Vista machine bc y not? I tried to get mac os working, but my first laptop did not fit the ram requirements, and the second just keep looping boot sequences.

Qubes

PureOS.

But you use virt-manager right? Not this normie garbage.

OpenBSD
