Ultabook meme

What is the point in ultra books being so slim? i ge ttheyre supposed to be light and ultra portable but unless you are spending rediculous amount you cant really get more than a 256gb sdd. Whats the poinrt you cant even use one properly since it will get full up in a matter of days. I got the yoga carbon 2nd gen and dont wanna use it since it will get fill up too quick. Why not just include a 2.5" bay

the entire market is based for rich fags and 14 year old girls who care more that their laptop is fashionable than function

>not buying 3rd party ssd and upgrade by yourself

complete bullshit i bet in about 2 years the only laptops which come with 2.5' bays will be those big ugly gaymer laptops. Assuming ssds dont go down in price but i hardly doubt we will be able to get a 2tb ssd for like 60 pounds

i'm a student desu i dont have the money to buy a 512gb m.2 drive. Ontop of that thats still way too little storage 1tb is a bare minimum people who have any less than that must legit only using their web browser

actually just checked the prices they aren't even too bad for a 512gb one wew ssd's have really dropped in price

>i'm a student
64GB eMMC is all you need in a laptop

no you sperg i want to use a laptop as an actual computer not to store 5 photos and a text file

>I got the yoga carbon 2nd gen and dont wanna use it since it will get fill up too quick

I don't get it. What are you filling it up with?

Pic is my current laptop

windows 10 uses up about 100GB
add all the bloatware that is put on by vendors, that's like 200GB used up

>use windows 10
>complains about normies

wew

you can always buy external hdd for your hentai

Yeah that seems about right. I guess you could not use Windows 10 and then save ~200 GB by my calculations.

why don't complain about lack of floppy disk reader? ssds are getting cheaper and smaller and soon will replace most hdds

op here I only have windows for photoshop i wanted to dual boot but that will be shit with 126gb i have debian on my other thinkpad yoga though it's top tier comfy

Once you have a few large files some software a few vns, music and photos that will be almost full desu

yes but currently it's not even affordable to get a 1tb ssd let alone a 2 or 3tb done. Having the option for a 2.5 inch bay and an m.2 is much better since you can put in a drive if you want one. I also have the thinkpad 460 yoga that has a 2.5 inch bay and m.2

I'm not going to defend thinness past the point of diminishing returns (which is pretty much any attempt to be thinner than my TP25), but
>Whats the poinrt you cant even use one properly since it will get full up in a matter of days
is equally fucking retarded.

Are you particle physics on your laptop or what?

whats the point of having a computer which you can hardly store any files on? music alone takes about about 1/5 of the storage

Who the fuck listens to music off their laptop? Christ just use spotify.

I have a carbon x1 becaues I travel continuously and being light as possible and traveling with carry on only saves hours of your time.

Install windows 7 or windows LTSB. I just had to check how much space I have 256gb and only used 80gb and the majority of that would be RAW photos that I continually upload to the cloud when I'm away anyway and have just gotten lazy with.

If you're complaining about needing more HDD space over form factor they aren't for you and buy a normal thinkpad.

>spotify
>the cloud

senpai having your data stored locally is a lot more convenient and is accessible all the time. Even if not storing music and a fuck tonne of photos it would get filled up within a year just from photoshop and other documents. I didn't buy the machine i got it for free i'm just confused about why anyone would want such little storage i guess for most people use cases it's okay

you get an ultrabook for portability+performance, not to store your anime soundtracks

performance? these laptops have and intel gpu's and dual core processors how is that performance.

well i mean compared to other small, portable computers.

more than the underpowered cpu/grafix and high prices and upgradeabitilty/fixability nightmare, i dread the coming no-ports holocaust these ultrabook memes are driving.

i think lenovo and dell are still trying to keep up a good amount of ports not sure about other comapnies though

stop hoarding porn movies.

If you're so into tech, but unable to spend over $1000 on a laptop you'll use for at least 2 years you must be really poor. That must suck. Sorry about your loss teehee
