I actually am one. 100% I think, although I can't be sure because I can barely trace my family past my great grand fathers, if at all.

do-you-want-your-own-state?

I know some, but they don't speak any Indigenous language

No, my people don't even have 100,000 people. And my closest family and I all live in a big city.

Saw a family the other day, they were looking for jobs, of course in Mexico City without skill they had no chance and everyone rejected the girls for beeing to young, so me and friends bought them a roasted chiken so they could eat
Really felt bad

Did you fuck the girls

How is injun life in mexico? I grew up on a shitty reservation and didn't even see a city until my 18th birthday.

I don't know if I can answer man. My father escaped their town with my mom when they were around 10. He had to work really hard and he ended up studying accounting through sheer hard work and sacrifices in a public school. He became pretty succesful, and by the time I was born we were an upper middle class family. He absolutelly hates our people and other native americans here, not because of race, but because he sees them as lazy, so he naturally doesn't talk much about our own culture or anything...
Anyway, when I grew up, I studied in a private school. Most of my classmates were white, and a lot of them had names and lastnames like "thierry" or "hartman", to name some. A great bunch of them were not only white, but also blonde... so I grew up thinking I was different, that I was wrong because when I was a kid I though everyone in the world was white... I did suffer from racism from time to time, they sometimes called me "pinche prieto"or "pinche indio"... but it got better the more I grew up. Now I attend to a public university and the demography and mentalities are completely different. Most people don't notice I'm native american unless I tell them, or unless they hear my last name. They probably think I'm a very dark mestizo. So yeah... it has been shit but it could be worse, I guess.

>Escaped when they were around 10
>He became pretty succesful
Holy shit man respect

Nice props to your dad

Native south American (Brasilian) here

They're called indians you amerifat, get your terms right.

He is a very strong willed man, the most serious man you will ever meet. He met some rich guy with a ranch that took him and my mom as an adopted sons, or proteges if you will, when they worked for him. He arranged that my father went to secondary education despite him never attending the elementary school... while my mom stayed to do the housework... and he then came back to help and do his homework. I respect him a lot, his is basically the reason why I can shitpost here, but I don't like the way he sees other native americans. He is one of the most unsympathetic persons regarding them, and it's not even to diminish his hard work, but you can't expect everyone to have not only his willingness to improve, but also his tremendous luck...

Hello brother, when did you move to the states?

No they are not. Indians are from India.
And don't call me amerifat

Sorry amerishart.

Why don't you leave this to the Americans and go kiss a moving truck, pierre

I grew up with many Natives from Pine Ridge
I know it doesn't count

>He met some rich guy with a ranch that took him and my mom as an adopted sons, or proteges if you will, when they worked for him
>He arranged that my father went to secondary education
>while my mom stayed to do the housework
Was the rancher native too by any chance?

Yes

Oneida

Northern Illinois here

Nope.

I-would-personally-take-your-family-in-if-in-the-same-situation-and-i'm-a-european-nationalist

That was fucking awesome man, non meme you've got good in you.

I supose it's hard, I've had native American friends, people who did grew up in their comunities and to take the step to make a better life for themselves is usually bittersweet for the young. Not all, I know people from Tlaxcala who are very open about their ancestry and love going back to their pueblos. The important thing is you do appear to appreciate who you are and to value hard work, all respect and best of lucks.

It's a funny thing how those things we usually criticize in Mexicans, being lazy, drunk, womanizing, really are all European traits, in my experience indigenous peoples tend to be very serious and formal. Even those who have asimilated into our mainstream usually take their time warming up to you, like they're distrustful. They're loyal as fuck however once you get in good with them.

Was only a joke, nevermind.

Assuming i am an ethnic french is really insensitive and bigoted, you filthy mongrel.

Ok, sorry muhammad

>really are all European traits
Not true, Scandinavians and Germans especially are very serious people.

southern euros on the other hand...

1/323 native Ojibwe here. The great spirit tree sends me vision n sheit.

That's pretty inspiring bro. Congrats

It was harsh man, they were caring bags with stuff and probably didnt have anywhere to crash for the nigh, saw them counting coins with the cashier for a chicken, then see them go away with nothing, it was clear they didnt have enough so I told my friends I will give them some money but later we decided to buy them the chicken instead, I still fee bad for them
What are they going to do after that?

We were colonized by Spain, I'm a southern Euro, fair enough, the very specific Europeans who colonized Mexico had a tradition of siestas, serenades and beer for breakfast.

You should probably not waste too much time in this website though, considering your dad has done so much for you.

Yeah I'm Chitimacha. Not a lot to do on the reservation so I don't spend much time there but it is kinda cool to participate in cultural events.

Man, there's only so much we can do, the important thing is that you do what you can, many people do legit get so depresed by the plight of people like that they'd rather not look at them/deal with it, and these are good people in principle, not the ones who would go whcih do exist outside the world of internet jokes. Little matters, it will never be enough and at some point we all have to learn that very hard lesson in life, but the small gestures help.

I'm not saying feel good, just realize that as long as you give a fuck you're at least not part of the problem.

Why-are-you-typing-like-this-?

Man, don't take it the wrong way, I'm an ethnic Spaniard, I love Spain and I've traveled there several times, while I'll always be a Mexican first I'm proud of my heritage. But come on, the mediterranean lifestyle, having a glass of wine and some tapas, playing dominoes, irse de marcha... And it sure as fuck isn't Moorish, I've seen them drinking their spearmint tea with nothing like even a smile on their face.

I'm not saying is wrong mind you, we should have built societies in which quality of life was more important than efficiency, but I am trying to convey that these are certainly not native American traits and we shouldn't lump everything we perceive as negative in us as being Amerindian, Spain left us its culture, the good and the bad. Don't get me wrong there are negative traits to Amerindian character as well, I don't believe in Russeau's noble savage, but these are not a part of those.

The best example I can think of is Don Quijote, Snacho Panza, being conceived as a purely Spanish character, fits the stereotype of a Mexican to an astounding degree. He's not all bad, he's well meaning and ingenous. but you've gotta admit that in many ways he's pretty much what people today would think is a Mexican, ourselves included, and there's absolutely nothing that's native American about him.

I'm-just-saying-you're-fairly-ignorant-of-Spaniards-in-general-the-lazy-ones-are-the-part-moors-in-the-south-have-you-met-white-spaniards-in-mexico-which-were-"lazy"?

Mexicos-situation-is-not-on-spanish-people-but-the-native-peoples-in-mexico.

no-ones-saying-that-natives-are-negative-only-that-they-are-what-makes-mexic-good-or-bad.

Let's try and drop it, I'm Basque/Valencian I'm familiar with the differences in between Spain's communities and I find the rejection some make of the Andaluz pathetic. I'm not blaming Spain here, I'm talking what we've done with the culture we inherited, obviously you people have moved forward and s should we. Funny enough the one person I recognize in your collage is Edurne Pasaban.

We are all a part man, but let me be clear, it's not Mexicans and our culture/character screwing the country. Most people are too busy working just to make ends meet and I've never seen a child taught stealing or killing are good things. It's our elites, the establishment, the educated classes who have failed the country. It's not the guy paying a bribe instead of a traffic ticket because it's the only way he'll make it to the end of the month with food for his children, it's the legislators who made traffic ticket for working class Mexicans and predatory police who'd rather shakedown the little guy than do their job. It's not that we are in the middle of this war because we are bad people and somehow deserve it but because there's hundreds of million of dollars to corrupt those who are already wealthy on both sides of the border. Unlike what many think Mexico's problem is not its people.

*legislators who made the traffic ticket too expensive for working class Mexicans

Yo.

Are you guys living in the Indian reservations or between the other Americans.

I grew up on a reservation until I was 13, then my family loved to the town near us and put me in public school.

I live among white people. My family has never lived on a reservation. We eithwr married into a native family that didn't live on a reservation or a white family

*moved
Not loved

So which of you have drinking problems?

Started drinking early on, like around 13. It's a vicious cycle, living in a reservation pretty much guarantees that you'll be regularly exposed to alcohol from an early age. You see it everywhere and it's pretty much a part of daily life that at some point (usually around early adolescence) you say what the hell and ask the nearest drunk for a swig of his beer. Next thing you know you have a bottle in hand all day.

I swear, these threads exist only for midnight shit posting.
someone else start.

>none of you fuckers go to /ingen/
FUCK YOU GUYS

Puritanism saved us from alcoholism and degeneracy, but it had a price.

Weren't you all kicked out after the black hawk war
