I have a core2duo that’s slowly dying. Random freeze here and there. Should I wait for Ice Lake to come out or start looking to build a new PC now?
I have a core2duo that’s slowly dying. Random freeze here and there...
why didn't you into sandy bridge or haslel?
I also have a 3 year old laptop that I could use if this core2duo desktop shits the bed. What should I do?
>intlel
>2011+7
Your buggy core 2 is about as fast and about as stable as any modern intel processor once it's been patched so why bother upgrading at all?
I stopped gaming and everything all together. I’m going to start gaming and graphics editing once I get my new rig. I just don’t know if I should wait for Ice Lake or look to buy soon?
It’s from 2006, man. Patched how?
Get Zen+
Next gen will still be on 14nm but with even more cores/threads
On the other hand, Coffee Lake and Ryzen are out now and the Zen+ APUs are here in 17 days
Just get a ryzen, upgrade to ryzen 2 a couplr years latet, Ryzen + is an incremental improvement and isnt worth paying attention to
>10nm+
>+
What did they mean by this?
>I have a core2duo that’s slowly dying.
how do you know the cpu is slowly dying? as far as i'm concerned that doesn't happen, that's never happened to me. motherboards crap out occasionally
take better care of your shit
Just upgrade to Ryzen you stupid cucky.
Get a used system or Ryzen. If you want to built an Intel system from new components you're out of luck. The CPUs have a critical security silicon bug that can't be fixed. Wait for Intel to release a new architecture that won't have this bug (will take years, not even announced, yet) or buy Ryzen.
Why is everyone here a amd shill. Really makes you think
For gaming Intel is still better
>What did they mean by this
That they actually didn't reach 10nm yet.
check ram or change power supply
>by 8 % for 350% price increase
oh fuck user you have to go back
Stay with the C2D processors and avoid the botnet, also get libreboot
>For gaming Intel is still better
But no one even mentioned gaming until you did, you absolute mongoloid.
And Ryzen is simply better at every pricepoint than anything Intel can offer for EVERYTHING that isn't gaming. And even at that, it only loses out marginally.
Buying Intel for anything that isn't CSGO at 800x600 240hz is a retarded choice.
trying too hard to fit in tbqh
Coffee Lake just came out, in fact there aren't even cheap motherboards for it yet. Why not go with that?
Have you considered Ryzen? The new APUs are just around the corner.
>ice lake
>tdp of 400+
>boiling lake
define random freezze
probably not CPU but Mobo
>lying that hard
chances are that its the PSU dying, not the CPU, if you get random freezes out of nowhere.
>tdp of 400+
>Steam was already taken
>better shitpost and call it ice
I'd suggest waiting until they're 30% off.
It's probably the PSU, never seen a CPU dying if it wasn't being overclocked. Also, you can get another C2D for 10$
But other bug affects all x86 processors
love my t450s trackpad, prefer it over the macbook just because of the ruff texture
Lol trust me when I say it's capacitors on your motherboard failing. It always is.
If your cpu is already freezing why would you wait for ice lake? Lel.
>trying too hard to fit in tbqh
It wasn't bad advice faggot.
