dump everything in downloads folder
no it's the aero basic theme running on xp
By year.
Mainly I just try to only have pictures that I like; if a picture is so boring to look at that it is just an obstacle you have to scroll through to get reach better pictures then I am probably better off not having it on my computer, or putting it in some sort of shit folder I will never look at if I absolutely cannot delete it.
Though still I do have some very broad categories; I think have like 4-5 photo folders I think. But I do not think having too many folder is good idea just makes it so I can not find the stuff I want to find.
I tend to very easily save a lot of stuff on a spur of the moment, but later when I return to it I think it is kinda meh. So therefore I have a temp folder most pictures are initially saved to until I am absolutely certain the pictures are good enough to move on to proper folders.
By year (and location or month if there are too many in a small timeframe) and I separate nekkid and non-nekkid selfies (;
For photos (not images) I sort them by date using ISO 8601 and a short description, usually the location: YYYY-MM-DD Location
Downloaded images I keep in various topical folders and rename to something I can remember them by using keywords, but keep the original name last, e.g.
1517124233819.jpg -> organize-photos-screenshot-1517124233819.jpg
I always use dash (-) as a separator and only lowercase characters.

Barely to minimal.
I throw shit in folders with base64 suffix added for the sake of preventing issues with similar filenames with different content.
Example: totally_not_dolphin_porn-CDaTuP-lzgyy1W_xc1el.exe
Every few thousand images, I will make a new folder.
If there are images I use regularly, or are personal, I will store them in an organized folder.
Then I will organize them based on their majority theme. I was going to do away with single themes and use symlinks to link them to multiple folders. But I gave up caring about that.
My 4chins folders get sorted by extension then auto sorted by newest last.
I'm considering uploading all my non-personal stuff (porn, animu faces) through IPFS and then writing a tag database that lets you tag hashes.
It would essentially be a decentralized booru.
tags in the file name

I store everything on a folder called shit
>Photos
Archive (folders by source - certain camera or friends; subfolders by date)
Developed (folders by occasion, e.g. vacation, photoshoot, etc)
Temporary (working directories, panorama sources, upload folders, etc)
>images
folders by topic, often coinciding with Sup Forums boards.
I should get them all tagged too, but I don't want to spend all the time doing that. At least I minimally tag new photos I shoot.
I use ACDSee. I place the files in directories that say the general theme of the photos, e.g. portraits. I apply tags, ratings, and labels to all my pictures for easy searching later. I work with a lot of pictures for work
this normies with vacation photos pls leave
