>the perfect Linux distro doesn't exi-

You know in your heart that Kubuntu is the best.

enjoy having every ppa break after an update and your old ass packages :)

>FUD

fuck off

>using Kubuntu when KDE Neon exists

LTS has it's limitations though

Doesn't Kubuntu have the worst KDE implementation? Just use OpenSUSE or Neon.

Nope

Just get Debian with KDE

>server distro

what would you fags say to xubuntu as a babby's first linux?

it's ok but xubuntu is outdated.

QT stuff like Plasma is the future.

I say this as an xfce user myself: Xubuntu and xfce in general is "good enough". For example the file manager Thunar doesn't even have a native search function but it's pretty fast. No thumbnails in the file picker either (the file picker being what shows up when you want to upload an image on Sup Forums). If you want something with features, grab something with KDE.

Yep, this is the answer.

It was my first linux machine. Tbh gnome is easier for first timers.

>doesn't even have a native search function
>No thumbnails in the file picker either

what the fuck okay, kubuntu it is.

not a complete first timer and i'm also not retarded so i don't think a different DE to what i'm used to is a big deal. have used ubuntu and mint for brief periods before but neither of them converted me to the master race.

You misspelled openSUSE tumbleweed

It is but it works very well as a desktop

>kubuntu was so bad kde had to make their own derivative

That's a weird way of spelling Ubuntu Budgie, user.

>Budgie

no

>using Kde Neon when Fedora KDE edition exist
I actual feel bad for you

>Sup Forums can't agree on what KDE-distro to use

What else is new?

Really anything but kubuntu is fine. All of the Ubuntu flavors suck ass. Ubuntu in general has really outdated packages and so does Debian.

>Best distro

That's not Lubuntu withXFCE, OP.

ok fuck you op you fucking faggot
this is the worst distro in existence and you know it
dont make more people fall for this meme

don't use kubuntu if you want thumbnails in filepicker
opensuse and arch have patches that enable kde file picker in firefox
unless you use those patches you will get gtk filepicker without thumbnails
also kubuntu is unstable and maitainers are literal monkeys

it would be a great distro but the packages organization is pure shit. No menulibre package for example and if you install texlive you will have a total amount of installed packages over 4000. Tell me if it is a good distro after this

says you

>signing onto a distribution just for the Desktop Environment

Is there such thing as a more pathetic way to Linux? I doubt it

Except Antergos with KDE is better

doesn't suse use Yast? If I remember (although this was 4 years ago) it's not difficult to download shit with yast.

I know in my heart that it's the best at breaking. Also worst LTS release everytime, and buggiest KDE of all distros.

yea, but wrong pic m8

I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you're referring to as Linux, is in fact, GNU/Linux, or as I've recently taken to calling it, GNU plus Linux. Linux is not an operating system unto itself, but rather another free component of a fully functioning GNU system made useful by the GNU corelibs, shell utilities and vital system components comprising a full OS as defined by POSIX.

Many computer users run a modified version of the GNU system every day, without realizing it. Through a peculiar turn of events, the version of GNU which is widely used today is often called "Linux", and many of its users are not aware that it is basically the GNU system, developed by the GNU Project.

There really is a Linux, and these people are using it, but it is just a part of the system they use. Linux is the kernel: the program in the system that allocates the machine's resources to the other programs that you run. The kernel is an essential part of an operating system, but useless by itself; it can only function in the context of a complete operating system. Linux is normally used in combination with the GNU operating system: the whole system is basically GNU with Linux added, or GNU/Linux. All the so-called "Linux" distributions are really distributions of GNU/Linux.

It is not. But it has it's advantages.

>download simple .exe installer
>doesn't work
>into the trash
do you really use that outdated shit?
go back to your hole compile from source you fucking caveman

>opensuse and arch have patches that enable kde file picker in firefox
I thought those two have thumbnail filepicker as default?

openSUSE is the best.
I didn't used it because KDE, now, that GNOME is shit and KDE can be configured to be comfy. There is no need for anything else.
- superior package manager
- supported by corporation
- there is rolling release version
- 1 click to install

Yeah, it's bloated, but there's no issue when I use it on modern PC.
I'm not shilling, just glad that I tried openSUSE once again.
(I do hope though, that GNOME will fix it's shit)

firefox uses gtk filepicker by default

...

>that menu bar font
user what are you doing
is this the state of kde users?

have you ever used KDE with more than 2 displays?
>compositor crashes on startup
>an error occurred
>report error
>no
>sorry, but an error occurred
KDE looks nice and has a bunch of great software but it's just so bugged and bloated. 2GB on startup, feels just like windows.
